Yep, lost a chunk out of a finger tip after owning a new rifle with Harris bipod for only an hour.
Tossed that sod of a bipod and bought a Hardy carbon fibre model. They don't bite.

I was shocked to find out how much a quality anvil costs when I bought one. But as you said, you have to have a decent one.

Well the RPB barrel is a tighter bore than the CZ after slugging them. Could be some of the reason for reduced speed.

I went to my local Home Depot, found a zinc bolt, cut it down and is working fine as a temporary fix.
@RM.510bigbore I called Aqua Environmental and they generously sent me a new brass stem at no cost. Should arrive in a few days. Awesome!

i casted and swaged for decadeds all small calibers , the 257 can be a real accurate round out 300yds and undermy favorite mold is the 73 gr lyman as for 22 cal I had bad luck casting pellets and light slugs , however the 36 gr MP slug in 22 and 25 cal is a great slug and very good on coyotes I love that slug I casted them 95% lead 5% tin

I have a gen 3 0.22 DAR that I bought last September. I checked it's velocity with 15.89 JSBs and it was 830 fps. This evening I shot it and it seemed noticeably slower so I got out the chrony and sure enough, it's only shooting the same JSBs at 580 fps. What would make a relatively new pcp suddenly lose 250 fps??

I just did Maintenance on Both of my PCP compressors, First the Spritech and then the GX, very easy to do, I took the cover off, removed the copper tube compression fittings, removed the top valve cover, pulled the valve spring and seal out, removed the top head and cleaned all gunk off, removed the top cylinder and cleaned, removed the lower cylinder and cleaned all crud, cleaned entire piston assembly, inspected all parts and seals, replace seals as needed, lube all parts with Synthetic oil, I used Royal Blue Synthetic Compressor lube, Reassemble exactly how it came apart, you should be able to do this maintenance in about 30-45 minutes, depending on brand and ease of access to the piston cylinder.
Don't forget to grease the piston rod or shaft and crank bearing.

Really good deal. My .177 R10 likes the heavier pellets and Howler slugs.
