DRS Orion the Iguana Hunter Mini Magazine VS FX Mini Magazine

I am not having much luck with my Orion. I am not sure if it is made for slugs but Mine jams like crazy... Pellet gets stuck, magazine gets stuck... It was a nightmare. Thought I was going to have to beat it out with a hammer. Will try again in the future but my first impression is not good. (other than it slides into slot easier than the stock magazine).
Do you have the low picatinny rail on your DRS.
I had to modify the magazine a little bit to make it work.
Orion is making a magazine that will work if you have the low picatinny rail.

These magazines without the cutouts hit the rail and won't quite go in all the way.

Results  PSA FT Results - April 14, 2024 (AAFTA and XFT)

We had a great turnout to kickoff the 2024 outdoor season at Palmyra Sportsmen's. The weather forecast for the day of the shoot was bouncing between rain and no rain all week. Fortunately, the day of the match turned out to be a very nice day to be outside and with no rain in sight. However, it was windy most of the day, which caused some challenging targets to be more challenging.

The 3 course average difficulty was 30.2 (Hard) and the individual course sections had the following avg difficulties (not including environmental factors):
  • Blue - 29.6 (Moderate)
  • Green - 29.4 (Hard)
  • Red - 31.5 (Hard)
The Blue course was on our range, the Green course had a bunch of slightly uphill shots and some targets that were tricky in the wind, and the Red course had a bunch of downhill shots.

Scores - Each course is a possible 20, and the 3 course total is of a possible 60 (ties are not broken):
2024 Seasonal PSA FT scores are available at PSA 2024 FT League Results

The XFT course was setup on the competition range. There were 10 targets, 6 targets were kill zone type targets and 4 targets were knock down style targets.

Scores for the 20 shot XFT course are:

Thanks to everyone that came out to shoot this weekend. We hope to see you at our next FT event on May 12.

Chronograph recommendations? Old Labradar?

Question to Labradar owners:
In my local classifieds I found several for very attempting price and some still listed as "new". What confuses me what is in the box? Were there multiple versions of packages?
Only one sellers is mentioning "Bluetooth" the others just listing a tripod (which I already have a bunch), one is saying BT cable, but nobody is pointing out any "downrange microphone".
BT is tickling my interest, but pretty much I just need data to feed into StrelokP.
I would need one of these for my new 308 project only, otherwise for airguns I have the FX radar ver.1 rev.3 and working perfectly.
Went through this when I got my LabRadar. From what I understand...

The original had Bluetooth but there were problems with it maintaining the connection so the came out with the LabRadar Lite without the Bluetooth. Don't know if they have since fixed the Bluetooth issue and are selling it again or if you are looking at old units/stock.

The tripod from LabRadar was a separate purchase. I'm not aware if it was ever offered as a package deal.

The LabRadar is designed for firearms and triggers off of the muzzle blast. The microphone is designed for use with airguns and is a separate purchase.

I have the LabRadar Lite, tripod and microphone that I use frequently. No complaints, easy to use and (if aligned properly) rarely misses a shot.

Hope this helps!

Im trying to understand BC

The higher the BC, the less wind will affect your bullet and the more energy it will retain down range. As above, it does not mean you will get smaller groups.

BC should not change with speed, but it often does due to manufacturers using unsuitable reference drag laws for calculating their BC values, often giving inflated values at high speeds. Good for sales, but not for accurate trajectory modelling.

Umarex  New to pcp rifles how to shoot better

Ratskinner. I agree with the other posts. I would also get an inexpensive (like $20) chronograph. Alibaba and Amazon are sources. It's good to know how fast your pellets are going. Most do not want to be accurate going much over 900 fps. Easiest "solution" if lighter ones go too quickly is use heavier ones. I try to keep them 800-900. I don't know what you selected but I always use simple domed pellets - no "hunting pellets" and usually from H&N or JSB. I think both are quality pellets but H&Ns tend to be less expensive so if your gun likes them..... Most of my guns do but I have a couple that like JSB or JSB made pellets (JSB makes air arms, FX and other pellets). I use domed pellets to hunt with too. They work very well.

I believe your Origin is unregulated and you may find that it shoots better at certain pressures. Something to keep track of. But first order of business is to find a pellet your guns likes. My guns will shoot big groups like you picture but will also shoot much better groups with pellets they like. I like to pick a pellet and then fine tune hammer spring and thus velocity from there. Takes me a little while to get a gun set up. I did one recently for another guy and I had the pellet and tune completed and the scope mounted and sighted in in a week. But I've had my newest gun for two weeks today and am just now about ready to say it is tuned. I selected a pellet within the first few days, however. I'm retired and don't work at anything very hard. I could probably do everything in a day if I had pellets on hand that worked. But I find it more fun to go fairly slow.

Wish I could have made it. For Ticks and other biting bugs, I use Permethrin on all my FT cloths. including my shoes, socks and anything else I wear. This will last more than a couple of washes as well.

Air Arms  I Couldn't Pass This one Up

These are not for sale Orv.
I just bought the beech myself.
You are confused.
Both are .177.
The beech first stage is a little long and I will have to address that.
Sorry Frank. One can hope, can't they? A few days ago I ordered a HW97K with a walnut stock in 22 cal from AoA. Now . . . just to wait. Orv.

HW/Weihrauch  HW50 and HW95 .20 or.22?

Well, I was in AOA about two hours ago and looked at four walnut 95's to choose a stock. I went ahead with a .22 and it's on it's way (shipped to my house). They don't have anything on when the .20 HW50's will be shipped, but that's OK. This 95 will be well broken in by then! There's a new Hawke Airmax 3x9 and a set of Hawke rings waiting at home for it, curtesy of the last Dvor sale a couple of weeks back. I'm here visiting family, but I can't wait to get home next week! If anyone's interested, they have lots of both .20's and .22's waiting for you.... :)
(Oh, the walnut 97's are pretty nice too)
Congrats on the new rifle!
