Results  Tacoma TRRC Field Target match results for 5/25

From Match Director Dave B.

We only had 4 shooters for the match on Saturday. One of the shooters was a first time shooter for a field target match.
I want to welcome Robert to our air gun sport and family of precision shooters.

I changed the competition match to a training and fun shoot event.
The weather was cool, occasional wind gusts and no rain.
The 4 shooters were Dave B, John C, Jason Blackburn, and Robert F.
The new shooter was Robert, shooting a Avenge X in 22cal with the power turned down.
This was a totally new type of shooting for Robert and he had a great time shooting the targets down.
We paired up with Dave and Robert in team 1 with John and Jason in team 2.
We had a total of 7 lanes with 3 targets in each lane and shot each target 2 times = a 42 shot match.
Jason(WFTF) shot a 37, Dave shot a 32, Robert shot a 24, John shot a 24(all in Hunter).
Great shooting everybody, we had a great time and Robert learned a lot about Field Target shooting.
We were all cleaned up by 1:30 and headed home.
Thank you all for today's shoot and help taking the course down!
Dave

Next Field Target match is June 22nd!
Air rifle Benchrest is June 8th.

Wow great shooting Wes!

It really was!

And more impressive upon score card inspection....he missed two of the offhand lane shots, AND he chose to shoot WITHOUT using the optional tripod on that lane, so true offhand.

RAW Rapid  Deciding between a DonnyFL Koi and Sumo on my .25 RAW

I tried out the Koi today on my RAW 25cal and it def made a difference. It may not be backyard quiet, but it tamed it down nicely. According to my DB app on my phone there was a 6db reduction with the Koi. I noticed a slight POI shift but it did not change my group sizes, so I am happy.

GX CS4-I: Blew some Seal ➠ How do I fix it?

You should have some spare burst discs in the packet of spare parts that came with your compressor. It is a 1 minute job to replace it! If you need some or want spares on hand, and GX Pump doesn't have them, you can order Burst Discs from Amazon also, just measure the one that's in there so you get the correct size.

8.5mm: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CDH1HVQD?psc=1&ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_ct_RGQVFX2D6K3QZ1EV8MTX

7mm: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07K3YF83T?psc=1&ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_ct_RGQVFX2D6K3QZ1EV8MTX_1

Target Forge also has some: https://targetforge.net/shop/ols/products/burst-disk-cs23
I figure those will work, but it has always bugged me that they don't give the pressure rating on them.

For the record, the CS4 burst discs are 6.7mm. My kit came with 6 spares.

May 2024 ... SVFTC Match Report / Results

A fun day on a number of levels. Always rewarding to help set up and tear down, enjoyable to compete with and encourage fellow shooters and the banter back and forth with Master Motorhead is icing on the cake. Just a great event where everyone focuses on one of the things we all have in common.....air guns!

Pink Unicorn of scopes

You make a good point about the FX. The Royale 400 is an absolutely fantastic rifle, likely FXs best effort. I have two in 22, one late model with external port adjuster and factory reg, and one early model that came Un-reg'd, but I added a HUMA and it's my favorite and the one I used above. They really are a dream to shoot.

Brocock/BRK  Brockcock Sniper XR Sahara, newbie friendly?

As you can see the resemblance is undeniable, my Pathfinder XR is but a mini Bantam Sniper XR. 23 FPE of deadly goodness. Just finished confirming zero at 25 yards. Then on to powdering small pieces of sidewalk chalk from 25~64 yards. And punishing my plastic rats at 50, 60, and 64 yards. I actually prefer my Pathfinder over my Ghost Carbine XR. Simply a sweet little PCP. Some of today’s targets. Yes, I miss of course, but not often. It has proven to be a deadly pesting PCP. Lots of rats, sparrows and starlings would attest if they could…

Compare please: Arken Zulus LRF vs Pard NV008 SP2 LRF

Has anyone tested these digital scopes on a springer?

I'm hoping these digital scopes will be the answer to scope eating springers.

I'm assuming the Arken does not have the traditional erector tube and mechanical elevation and windage adjustments that are prone to failure in a double recoiling springers/gas rams.

PCP Rifle  SOLD Vault Clearance continues - .22 Daystate Red Wolf HP R - Pristine Condition

This offering is for a SPAW, Ken Hicks tuned .22 Daystate Red Wolf HP R in very pristine condition. Always one of the most consistent and accurate rifles in my collection, this rifle is in as perfect condition as a "used" rifle can be. It has been babied and has never been taken outside and handled other than on my indoor or deck bench. It shoots the 25.39 gr pellets as accurate as can be imagined.

This rifle originally came with the magazines that were actuated by the mechanical steel plunger. If you will recall, there was an issue with alignment with some of these rifle/magazine combinations. AOA, under warranty, removed and plugged the plunger pin and replaced the magazines with the current flip open magazines, a huge improvement, and it has worked flawlessly since.

As you can see from the power chart included, this rifle is unbelievably consistent. I never could get it to shoot slugs as well as the pellets, but at the ranges I get to shoot (out to one hundred yards), it didn't matter. I have killed several squirrels with it at 85 to 95 yards without a single miss, using the 25.39 Gr series pellets in either the JSB Jumbo Monster Redesigned Pellets, FX pellets, JTS Dead Center or AEA pellets - it doesn't seem to exhibit a brand preference.

At 50 yards, it stacks the pellets into one single hole. It is very quiet and backyard friendly with the Huggett Moderator. I rarely have to charge the battery as it will shoot for months without a battery charge. I generally charge it once every six months to keep the battery in great shape, whether it needs it or not. In short, this rifle will perform "first time, every time." It has never let me down.

On the medium and low power settings, it will shoot the 18 gr pellets extremely well with a very high shot count.

For the rifle only, shipped within the continental US, and payment via PayPal F&F,, the price is $2,000, $900 less than the current new price. It will come with two magazines, the Huggett moderator as shown, a Carm single shot loader, the original manual charger, etc - complete as when I purchased it new.

For the Hawke Model 17420 Sidewinder 6-24x56 SF30 IR FFP scope, with FX No Limit Rings as Shown, add $500 (a perfect match for this rifle). BTW - the dope chart shown on this rifle as mated to the scope will put the pellet dead on at 5 yard intervals from 30 to 100 yards.

For the Accu-Tac bipod as shown, add $275.

Thanks for looking.... DZ
