FWB  FWB 800 FT question

I just purchased a used FWB 800 FT Basic, 12 fpe. I noticed there used to be a 15 fpe version as well. A little bit of digging revealed that the 12 fpe version has a 16.73" barrel, and the 15 fpe version has a 23.75" barrel. Does anyone know if both guns are "tuned" the same, and the only difference is the barrel length? Or, is the 15 fpe version tuned a little hotter because of the longer barrel? TIA for any help!!

Red-dot sight

Don't some red dots attach directly to the slide of a say glocks? I'm sure they'd handle an airgun.

^ That. There are many dot-sights being mounted on semi-auto handgun slides. I imagine that any one of those would be robust enough to use on a spring-piston airgun.

Cheers,

J~

Daystate  Slug barrel for Alpha Wolf

Which slugs are working best for you? I have had reasonable luck with the 12.5 NSA's and the 13 Zan's, but both are better in my .177 RedWolf HP for some reason. It should be basically the same barrel. It is amazing with 10.3 1nd 13 grain pellets though.

In the standard 23" LW barrel, JSB KO 13.43 gr with the dish base are really good and very accurate - around 920 FPS - Sub MOA groups of 5-10 shots at 100 meters or 110 yards are not uncommon (y) 🎯 :)

We were able to stay cool in the woods with all the shade, where the temperatures never went above 90 degrees. We shot a 15 lane match for a total of 60 points. I would like to thank all the shooters that showed up to make this a successful match..

Beeman  Beeman Hurricane

I have a Beeman Hurricane (Webley & Scott) that I purchased many years ago and only used it for Target Practice. I pulled it out this week and it will not cock. Could some one tell me what the issue might be, and how I can get it repaired?
Can be one of 3 reasons. Most common is the trigger lightening adjustment screw has gone too far to the far margin and not holding sear. If you can draw your barrel back but it's not holding this is the reason and the simplest first step. Simply adjust the trigger adjustment screw back a turn until latching is made.
If your barrel is not moving, I.e jammed, or only partially moving, it can be a worn linkage, or broken mainspring.
Both very easy fixes and parts readily available to order.

JTS MA2 Power Increase

HSA first ... or install a tad stiffer hammer spring. had be a shorter one if wishing to play with a free flight hammer set up, or just stiffer or any combo experimented with the creates more strike & dwell.
Lastly once hammer strike is played with ... raising reg output pressure.

YES power can be greater, to a point where barrel length starts to hinder output at some point.

Squirrel vs rattlesnake

I'll just say this... I have dealt with and captured all kinds of snakes for over 50 years now.. I know rattlers, if that snake was actually hungry, it would have been in an ambush position and the tree rat would have been toast.

That snake was just looking to get from point A to point B.. and the tree rat interrupted its travel. It wasn't looking to kill and eat, just move along.

N/A  What gun amazed you?

2018 I believe was the year. I told one of my friends that I am really interested in a different semi auto other than FX Monsoon(which I had owned 3 of them). He said that I should try a Huben K-1. So, after talking with Kelly at Krazy Kool Airguns, I purchased a new 2018 Huben K-1 .22. Kelly told me on the phone that I will sell all my other airguns because I will be amazed at the Huben. I remember that conversation and I laughed at him. I told him that I have owned and shot a many of airguns, and seriously doubt it. Man, was he right.
I absolutely love everything about the Huben K-1. It feels the void in every category for me.
Since 2018, I have purchased several Huben K-1's. I still own 2 Huben K-1 today, 2018 with a TJ barrel setup to shoot slugs and a 2021 setup to shoot Jsb 18gr.
Absolutely LOVE the Huben K-1.

N/A  The most shots per fill....

It seems like the hi cap mag is the big catch in the selection . I know that there is a guy that makes belt drive hi caps for a few different models ... including some Daystates and BRK's but I'm not sure how well they work.
The Crown you mentioned has a Smooth twist X so uses the liner system.
A Uragan I shot in 177 was incredibly good and high count but the mags were smaller.
My Theoben Rapid Mk1 has 17 shot mags and gets 125 at 20 ft lb on a fill... 😁
Bob
I was thinking about your post, as well as Liontracks HFT thread, and it occurred to me that a RAW HM1000 Micro Hunter could fit my needs fine.
Is bringing the power down to 12 fpe a hassle?

Could buy the pump kit which would be fun for plinking. If not it converts to left side cocking which I prefer over right hand.
17 rnd mags so two more than the AGT.
Haven't had a RAW yet but always wanted one.
Good trigger.
Could put a larger bottle on if I thought I needed it later.

FX Boss

I'm shooting the JSB 25.4 grain pellets at an average of 888 fps. It drops off the REG at about 120 bar. Unsorted Pellet flight is mostly good with the occasional flier.

Been shooting the Royale 500 as received from the factory and using it as a close range pest rifle for raccoon-sized critters. Planning on doing some tuning and testing for longer range bench work.
