Traditional Rifle  SOLD Anschutz LG380 .177 Match Target Rifle

Upgrade the fan in a CX4?

Nothing really lol. For my 9L tanks at home I have a Yong Heng and two Tuxing TXEDT032 compressors, the ones with the double heads and radiators. For my guns on the field I usually take the SCBA tanks and I take the digital 12v Tuxing TXET063 just in case.
I just like to make and modify things. I'm a machinist and have access to some pretty neat machinery in my shop like lathes, mills, metal laser cutters, powder coating equipment etc. Why not use them right?

North East Airgun Classic 2024 Winners Pro Benchrest

I met Mark from Massachusetts at the event. He won 100 Yard Sportsman with his Thomas .22 shooting MRDs at 965fps.

His bench was next to mine - he uses no moderator on his Thomas - 1st shot he took woke me up, lol.

Mark is an AGN member. First time I saw a Thomas in person - incredible. You can tell its quality just by looking at it!

Hi Guys
I just came across this thread. Thanks for the kind words. I’m happy to share what I’ve learned over the years. But those of you that know Mike will notice I mimic most everything he says. He and I go way back and has shared lots of info over the years. No secret I’m a big Thomas guy. I have one setup and tuned for every class. Some are very early guns that still are capable of shooting a record anytime. I got the HPX 3 weeks before the match. After about 2 weeks of solid rain and wind. I got to shoot it at length. And that being the first time shooting at 100 yds. A lot of crazy stuff happens to pellets past 75 yards. 25 and 50
Yards are pretty predictable. I do a tremendous amount of testing and gun building. Now that I’m retired I shoot most every day.
Ok to the moderator question. To me it’s simple. Nothing you add to the end of the barrel will improve accuracy. I’ve never seen a tentioned barrel shroud that helps accuracy over time either.
So why the big muzzle brake on the HPX?
It’s to reduce recoil. These high power guns can have a lot of pressure on the valve. On a gun with an external regulator and a valve that sticks open can be a handful. The muzzle brake keeps the gun from flying back at you. Just ask Mike he had a valve stick on a HPX. It broke his nose and knocked him off his stool. So I use them on all my high power guns. I just bought a FX Impact M3 in 30 and 22 cal. I’m testing the 30 now. First thing I did was take the moderator off. It has quite a bark.
Initial results look good at 100 yds.
Hopefully I’ll get my hands on a red panda in 30 and 22 to test soon.

PM me if I can help with anything.
I don’t spend a lot of time on the forums.

PCP Rifle  FOUND Looking for Sumatra under lever carbine or full-size

Hello AGN! I just missed this "Sumatra .25 cabine project" for sale. I was wondering if anyone has Sumatra under lever rifle (carbine or full-size) that he would be willing to sell at a decent price. I'd prefer carbine in .22 (but .25 is OK too if I can't find it in .22) and full-size in .25 caliber only. Please PM me if you have any of these rifles for sale and let's talk. If the price is right, we can do business :). As usual, thank you AGN!

PS: To the lucky person who snatched this Sumatra .25 carbine project today - if you would lose interest in it and decide that you are not going to put it back together and would be willing to part with it - please contact me first, I'll be happy to take it off your hands ;).

FX barrel on my RAW TM1000x

Note that the three supports evenly spaced along the barrel liner are intended to make the barrel behave more like a stiff, one piece large diameter barrel that RAW normally uses. This design is an inexpensive alternative to using LW barrels by FX. It's good point is that you can cheaply change liners.
Yep I fitted a carbon sleeve to the liner and shroud supports for the external shroud but I can assure you that it isn’t even close to being as ridged as a lw 16mm blank. Lighter, yes, stiffer, no.

PCP Rifle  SOLD Sumatra .25 cabine project

Wondering if anyone is interested in a project. I have a Sumatra.25 carbine that sprung a leak AWHILE back. I was originally going to send it off to Will Pratt, to get fixed and tuned. As most know he passed away. So I decided to break it down myself. Well…ALONG time has passed since I did that and I have no time or interest in trying to get it back in working order. EVERY piece is here. Excellent condition except for scratch on buttstock. $200.00 shipped to you within CONTUS. Has two mags

N/A  lapping a barrel

@nervoustrig How do you pull the lead out? I’m not familiar with this process.
You’re pouring the molten lead onto a jag (or similar thing) at the end of a cleaning rod. After it has cooled, you apply abrasive to the cast lap and use the cleaning rod to work it back and forth. I included a few pictures of my setup in the following thread:

Rabbit removed

Good job man! You HAVE to try a Rabbit à la Moutarde- Sooo dang good!! Making my mouth water thinking bout it!
Thanks. I’ll look into it. This rabbit was prepared with the meat eater recipe that was shared earlier. I didn’t make the Alfredo sauce as the recipe described. I just bought that. Also I used chicken stock instead of game stock. I used a ceramic Dutch oven for 2hrs at 350.
