Good job, again. Thanks..177 marauder![]()
That's correct. Loctiting the screws will be a hassle and risky when you want to dismantle the parts. The reason that I suggest locteting the screws because they are moving parts that can be shaken loose over time from the vibration when shooting the gun. But I agree with @Trucker3573 and @Chukar60. It's better to loctite less.Exactly how chukar described the process. Not sure what you were getting at with your pictures but there is not way to check probe alignment by pulling the barrel forward and looking through the transfer port. You have to do it through the access hole to the probe screw. That screw should be front of center of the hole but still accessible by Allen wrench. You will know if that probe comes out of alignment slightly. You will get sporadic super low velocity shots. I personally wouldn’t loc tite those screws. They are pretty delicate and tiny and if you do need to remove them for maintenance I see a potential problem if loc tited.
Mine is a 218***** serial with a 2022 bottle and my block is drilled through to the vertical screw holeIm wondering if there is anyone who has had the same problems as me and if they managed to keep the 700mm panthera or if they sold or return it for a refund... Anyone with a working panthera?
Thank you @L.LeonWelcome back, congratulations on your impending nuptials… Good job on the pigeons, you are lucky to have such a nice permission. The Ranger XR is a capable little gun. Indoors and out it is simply murder on small pests out to 50+ yards…
I guess I don’t see too many because you have them all!! HaHere’s a few
Damn that's one hell of a setup! The factory rail was terrible on the Panthera .. borderline criminal given the interference issue that shifted my POI as much as 0.8MILs at 50y when my bipod was mounted on the far end of my 700mm 22cal.
The original Leshiy is still my favorite PCP of all, but I liked the minimalistic Weaver rail on it. I pest starlings and critters with it daily shooting offhand, but it's always been way too light up front to be able to hold on target through the long trigger pull. I run a 3MOA red dot on it with a 3x magnifier, but I also tend to use my PVS-14 in place of the magnifier at night, and I've needed a better solution for extra rail space to run my Luna ELIR-3 and thermal monocular. I actually prefer these over the NOX18 thermal, because it gives me both thermal spotting and identification with the i2 analog NV using my L3 PVS-14 (that way I don't shoot my kitty cat in the backyard at night).
I modified and fabricated a few different hand rails for it, but wasn't thrilled with any of them. Realized the Panthera rail fits flush with the Leshiy and the top bridge fits perfectly around my shroud extension. Had to mill a little bit of material off of the Magpul AFG, and I also milled an aluminum Pic rail down so that slides into the AFG and slots into the bottom of the rail's M-LOK slot.
The rail stays in place nice and sturdy on its own (like a press fit), but I also used (2) set screws on the canted sides of the bridge to pin it down. Threw on some lightweight MOE rails and another light aluminum Pic railnthat I had with rounded corners for the front-left rail, which gives me just enough clearance to fold the stock flush.

Very happy with it. It's a hell of a lot more solid now than it was on the Panthera. The forward weight makes it sooooo much easier to control my shots (CG is right at the trigger).
Shoot! Pun intended. I was hoping to see more pictures. How about starting a new thread with pictures and details. I'd love to hear more about it to.I very rarely share pics of my projects anymore !
My shortest crown configuration is right at 17 inches and makes just shy of 30 foot pounds bone stock .

Out of respect for rangur1 I will send you a pic in the Pm's as not to clutter up his thread lol . I truly hope he finds the perfect lil shooter for his friend .![]()
Beeman r1/HW30Don't be shy about stepping down a bit in power to an R7 (HW30). They are about 8 FPE and can be very accurate to 50 as long as the wind is low. Cocks with about the weight of your arm. They are also lighter which makes picking them up each time you cock them easier as well.
