Shortening barrel, accuracy effect?

In past years I collected some custom barrels (3 actually), all these were shooting well. But once (many months later) I pushed a new scope camera inside just out of curiosity I discovered the scratch marks from a crowning tool. That made me so nervous I could not stand that longer, toke the barrels to a gunsmith and recut about 1/2" (more less) all from the muzzle. Re-crowned them diy with a brass screw and happy again. But honestly the change was more mental value, the accuracy is about the same according to target rings pictures before and after.
I had 2 early RTI barrels, a 20” .22 and .25. Both had a ring perpendicular to the lands, about 3/8” in from the muzzle, from the crown tools pilot. They both shot much better than they looked, but man did it bother my conscience. The .25 also had no bevel cut at the breech end, and would just jamb trying to load from a mag, a brass ball nut and some compound and drill fixed that quickly.

Airforce  Airforce Condor New Barrel Blank Setting Up Bushing Spacing?

Okay so this is my first time making a airgun barrel with bushings. I have my Chaszel blank in .222 diameter machined to same dimensions as factory barrel everything fits okay. I sleeved the blank to 12 mm using carbon fiber sleeve. I brought new Amazon Chinese barrel bushings in 12 mm....Problem is there too tight......I have my factory Airforce barrel with factory bushings that fit perfectly.... I'm scared to remove the factory barrel bushings from old barrel and be able to get space ing right....I'm sure there is a jig or a simple way of doing it I'm completely missing... I'm asking before I act... I can machine or polish the Chinese bushings on lathe to fit..My question is getting holes on frame to line up???Thank you

$5.00 Wad cutters?

Have you tried the 9.3gr domed .177 from this company?
I have some of Vogel 9.3 domed pellets. I did a quick test when I got them but need to do a serious test. They look good. I don’t remember the results from when I shot them. Seemed like they shot decent.

Carbon fiber tank question

I don't own any of the under 500W compressors but I agree with the sentiment that they are meant for filling guns. The CS4 may be an exception but due it's size my understanding is that a bottle fill takes hours.

I use my Yong Heng compressor, approaching 3 years old at the moment and going strong, to fill my 45 minute SCBA tank. Works fine. I added a small radiator and fans and can refill my bottle to 4000-300 bar while staying below 60 degrees C. I use NuVair oil in it which I think is important for it's longevity. I only fill my bottle about once a month, however. My Yong Heng pulls 3-5 times as much electricity as your compressor so a bottle fill takes 15-25 minutes. But it is noisy and takes up more space. I am using an inexpensive retired Scott firemans tank and a somewhat expensive fill set from Joe Brancato. Total cost about $600.

To me the big advantage of filling from a bottle is it's very fast and nearly totally silent.
Great reply, I have a 032 Tuxing that's a beast...Temp gauge is there for a reason, keep an eye on it!! Pressure gauge on the compressor gets up to your tank pressure, shut it off, open tank start compressor, I fill my carbon fiber tank from 2000 psi all the time. No brainer. Will it last forever? No, tell me what does...

FX  Does this seem right?

I finally got a chance to tune my 0.30 cal FX Maverick Sniper. The regs are set at about 170 and 140. I turned the IHS out until it would not cock with the power wheel set at 7 and then turned it back in 3/4 of a turn. I'm shooting 50.15 gr JSB pellets. I'm now getting the following velocities:
Wheel at 0 638 fps
Wheel at 1 694 fps
Wheel at 2 767 fps
Wheel at 3 783 fps
Wheel at 4 856 fps
Wheel at 5 888 fps
Wheel at 6 922 fps
Wheel at 7 932 fps

Thanks to everyone for walking me through this. In one of the videos I watched the person had a digital reg gauge which I thought would be a great idea. How hard is it to replace the reg gauge? Does it just screw out?
I was going to ask, is the liner on the pellet side or the slug side? Next now that you have your 932, you Turn the HSA in 1/2 turn happens to be 1/2mm does the speed go up or down if up start doing in 1/4 turns in, when it drops start going out in VERY SMALL increments until max is reached then back it off a tiny bit and are there, your SD should be 3 or less if things are working well and good pellets. If it goes down with the first 1/2 turn then start coming back out slowly to find the max then in a bit.

AIR Venturi 4500 Snowing in water reservoir

Update I used an aquarium cleaner from Amazon that cleaned out all the algae then flushed with CLR as per Ted the tech from Air Venturi who returned my call yesterday and was very helpful spent some time with me answering all my questions water and radiator now crystal clear will be refilling big bottle this weekend and am confident I'll be back at normal running temps...Thanx to everyone for your comments

Epic  Love the epic 2 mostly

My REG was also set to 90 bar, and it is also a little lower than that i shoot ( 13 gr ) , BUT ! i am pea shooting the .177 caliber.
My bad start with the Two was a poor LW barrel with a huge choke in the middle, like 1/4 to 1/3 of the barrel length.

Now on CZ barrel that feel slick l8ike snot on a door knob the whole way thru the barrel, and things are looking good.

Dunno why you have wind issues, i assume CUZ you shoot in higher wind than i attempt with this little caliber, maybe also trying to shoot further.

Not dialed in at all but shot this on my last outing ( first with CZ barrel ) and on a day with for the caliber not favorable winds.
86 M / 92 yards, and as i recall 13 grain Zan slugs.

Not really " aiming " here, just put some holes in paper to take picture for seller of unusable 3" targets that do not have splatter effect in them at all.

I will have a opinion on the Two in like 2-3 months, which i feel is a relevant time frame to get under the skin of a rifle.
But like my Maverick, i have a strong feeling i can shoot a 1/2 " group at this distance,,,,, that is, when dialed in, and if i learn not to pull that last #5 shot which i often do.

Tuning  78G reseal

Put a cylinder in it today just to see, I was told it leaks down after a few days. Well as soon as I pierced it it was leaking pretty good by the cap, assume the seal. Still managed to shoot it over the chrono, was averaging about 360fps w/14.3's. Definitely going out to Phil for reseal. Shot it about 30 times until fps dropped to about 300. What a blast, can't wait to get it fully functional again.
