FX  Pellet Flight

.... More on reg less on hammer and vise versa will give you the same speed .
I am seeing a lot of answers, but no one actually answered you specifically for the above...
Yes, you can get the same speed going either process, but the results would be much different at the muzzle.
With a higher Reg and matching hammer hit energy (hammer spring and hammer weight balance) you will get a smaller air blast at the muzzle that can unbalance the pellet skirt. Going from there tighten the Valve spring monitoring the speed, take away maybe 10-15-20 fps from the Max and that will shorten the air blast inside barrel hopefully before reaches the muzzle.
Internal + external airstripper will help you greatly.
Sorry I don't know your gun dictionary I have the .25 Impact MK2 also couple .22 liners as well but no .177, and this shall give you some picture.
To fully tune your gun - or just any gun - sometimes a tin of pellet is just not enough. You change the pellet weight you retune, you change the caliber you retune.
Take a (paper) notebook and a pencil and document all your steps. Always change only one thing at a time and write it down. When you got couple pages of data, grab a beer and start tinkering.
You will see a first.... smaller calibers need more air and higher pressures, you can start from there. Then change to higher caliber and examine with that given Reg you will turn the Hammer Spring Tensioning Wheel to lower numbers to eliminate the high burst.
Yes, it is possible...

N/A  New to the pcp world!

Lol i might get a high dollar one one day i just love how some guys get with brands and etc sometimes ppl knock a brand but have never owned one. That arrow could be a terd, alot of ppl have said the avenger isnt that good but at 50 yards it is doing less than 1/4 inch group. And wierdly thats untuned i haven't done squat other than the trigger. It is shooting fast right now it seems around 840-900 for around 15gr pellet but a 14.3 crossman in mine is over i think 1100 and groups good so if i tune it around 850 it could keyhole at 50 i will have to see.

Airgun Technologies  Slowly but surely getting the V3 700 (.22) tuned

I *think* I've found / stumbled upon a tune that I can live with. Readers digest - the .2165 & .217 nsa's showed up. The .217's were noticeably "snugger" fitting into the barrel and speed over the chrony reflected that. Set them aside. The .2165's, as kind of expected, did in fact show real promise. I took some other's with me from stuff I had laying around the house ( some .217 H&N 30's, and the .217 ZAN 30.5's ) Interestingly - both of those - in .217 - pressed right into the barrel like they belonged there. ( compared to the .217 NSA's which were noticeably tighter ) It was hit & miss with both of these 30's - I could get them really good out to 51 yds but then when I chucked them up to the board out at 97 they would fall apart (open up)

** note on odd yards used ** I shot at the Historical Society's range where the "old retired guys" (lol) shoot their flint lock muzzle loaders. The target boards at this range aren't . . .well they ain't where the guys say they are. (lol) The 30 is really 28.5'ish. The 50 - yeah - that's more like 51.5'ish and the one they call the 100 - sorry guys - my rangefinder tells me its really @97. So -- yeah. It's all good though. :)

. . . anyway ↑ . . . that said. Two things - (1) I was getting frustrated with the 30's hit & miss - just when I think I've got something going - send 'em long to the 97 board and . . . nope. {sigh} (2) - I was getting hungry. I mumbled to myself - " . . . screw it - just load up a magazine of those 27.5's again and see what they do. I won't know how fast they're going but at this point . . . I'm hungry and ready to call it for the time being . . . " <-- I DID know how fast the 30's were going - between 935-950'ish. I've just been shooting at sharpie'd 3/4" circles up on the piece of cardboard per other pictures in this thread. I start sending the lighter 27.5's .

"Whoa . . . " ( actually - a little high - dial it down 3 clicks . . . ) Hot Damn! Move over to another sharpie circle - "N I C E . . . " Alright - I'm gonna slap some reactive sticker ones up there just to make sure I'm not hallucinating . . . .

I sent 4 at the only one I shot at and was like "I'm done. This is my tune. I don't know what it is (lol) but . . . I'm done." (lol) I did move the gun to another spot where I had my chrony setup and ripped off the rest of the mag over it to get an average speed - turns out to be 985. You see that in one of the attached pictures. I took the photo from the 97 yd spot where I shot at the splatter target - you can see the gun and chrony up a little in front of me - that was post shoot when I measured for speed. I'm going to "build" this setup in strelok and start marking up the turret with ranges.

N/A  Were there any other rifles that had a falling block style bolt mechanism like the S&W 77a?

Oof, that’s sad to hear as I can’t help but take things apart, it’s a sickness lol.
It's not that hard if you can read a diagram. And I also take pictures as im disassembling any airgun. So you know where everything goes.

FX  How to align Gauge with stock on fx bobcat mk1

There is a youtube on the "sub 12 airgun" channel where he talks about different methods of getting gauges to line up. I think one involved shims but I think they were metal.

I don't like the ideal of using dowty washers, this may increases the surface area under pressure, increasing the force on the threads.

Another way if you have a lathe is to shorten the end of the gauge until it is clocked correctly.

Yong Heng, first 500 psi free...

Black usually means aluminum oxide.
Like steel piston rings on aluminum cylinder? Retired now but would love to send a $ample off thru work, standard checks on our Rexroth pumps in the office onshore. Nothing but crickets from Lawrence Factor...so may switch up with Rarus 427 this summer when SecoLube runs out. thx

Sheridan  Sheridan Bluestreak Reseal Issues, Not pumping up....

Checked it this morning after putting 8 pumps in it last night and it sounded like a full pressure release to me (LOUD!).
I'm saying that it seems good to go....but I also said that the last time I resealed it and after a while it failed....so, I'll have to shoot it more to get a better picture on it's health.
Thanks again for all of the input and suggestions AGN'ers!

Mike
Thats awesome. Thank for the followup.

HW/Weihrauch  Walnut hw97 are in at aoa...

I was sent some pics from a different gun by staff at AOA, and it's exactly the same as mine. It didn't look normal to me at first, but now I'm not sure.

The majority of the trigger guard rests on the front and sides (wood) in the stock. The rear screw needs very little torque past snug. If the rear screw is over tightened it will affect how the trigger works in my experience.
