cameraland has these for 350 second focal plane . I have trouble seeing small recticles especially ffp scopes has some one looked thru this? if so is it real thin? looks real thin to me

If you plan to use a scope than a PCP would be the best option.
For a starter rifle a springer is more forgive of abuse and would be my first choice for a youth.

I got both regulators from Bagnall & Kirkwood $$. Arrived in nine day

Second regulator came in at 90 Bar...perfect. First regulator started at 200 bar. Had to degas and reset several times to get it reduced to 150 Bar. All good here and GREAT again

Just want to ad input to your post in the industry feedback section as replies aren’t allowed there which really isn’t fair but anyway….. In my opinion skout not offering as many barrels is quite well known. They did that quite awhile back and did in fact lower the price when they did.

You got it... there are 3 versions of housings that I know of besides my own... Memory isn't perfect but I believe the second and third were in the first year of production. I'd have to look back at my testing to be sure but believe mine arrived in August of 2019.

Now there MAY be chages I'm not aware of... I've been busy with other things for over a year, but that's as I have seen.

I’ve been working on a project for the Fx Impacts. A .30 magazine that holds 25% more shots. It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything for a Fx. As this project has been put on the back burner a few different times. I showed the work I been doing for the RTI Prophet’s.
But today I’d like to share the 30/30 Impact magazine. I’ll have a couple of them with me at RMAC. So if you’d like to see them first hand come and find me.

These are prototypes that are machined from acrylic with some 3D printed stuff inside. To help speed up the testing process. I fully intend on build a fully machined version at a later time.

Your 790 would be a good starting point for a try at a rebuild. The steps are the same for your 78g, but a few parts are slightly different. As for a rebuild kit, check out eBay and look for Henry Ford, aka crosman600repair. His kits include a new exhaust valve and a small bottle of oil. The seals are all standard except for the large CO2 piercing assembly o-ring which is urethane. Some kits are all urethane, but they are a pain to install and it doesn't seem like they are all necessary!

I would avoid the micro hunter specifically because of their lack of efficient valve and hammer dynamics. Their ancient technology causes hammer bounce and waisted air. Also causing turbulence behind the projectile. This might not be problematic at lower power, but the efficiency will be. Both the others have a “slingshot” style hammer system to prevent hammer bounce. Much more efficient. The only thing the micro hunter has going is the trigger, but honestly, I got my ranger from @zx10wall and his trigger job makes it so damn light and crisp, that it wouldn’t be noticeable difference between that of the micro hunter.

Motorhead, thank you for the kind offer of help. Daystate blew me off as we knew they would. Good guy at AOA said he was out of stock on the housing but will get more in and they are under $100, so I can handle that. I have used JB WELD on airguns before (like adding a gauge to an FX Whisper air tank) but on this one the o-ring needs to seal where the crack is so any protrusion at all would cause leakage. I'm hoping AOA comes through on the part. I'll keep the thread updated. Thankx again.

What do you look for to determine a quality slug? I know what I look for when casting my own slugs, just wondering what you consider good.

in a shooting book from the 1920s or 30's an article I had talked about putting one in a machine rest and getting poor accuracy. The author found it only shot well when shot in prone held lightly. So the "artillery hold" is quite old.I posted the article years ago on another forum but can't recall what book it was in!
