Air Venturi  best slugs for avenger x 25

From my understanding, the Avenge X as not designed to shoot slugs. It shoots Pellets extremely well when you find the one the barrel likes. I guess, that beings it's your gun, you can shoot what you want, but slugs aren't your best option.
There seems to be a lot of debate about the idea lslug barrel and speed but the 25 cal Avenge-X actually does shoot slugs well - I don't have space to go any longer but at 120M, its still grouping well and the pellets struggle. At 50M it puts either one through the same hole 5 out of 8 shots.

This would seem to go against "conventional wisdom" about needing a faster twist and higher speeds (1000+ FPS) but they fly ok and are less impacted by the wind so it seems to be a viable option (after about 350 slugs so far)

HW/Weihrauch  HW50 barrel change ?

If it’s the newer style WITH THE STAR NUT it’s very difficult . You have to KNOW HOW ITS DONE OR ITS DISASTER
IVE DONE IT AND MADE the custom tool to remove them. If it’s older style it’s pressed in with a retainer pin. Not so bad but bluing will need to be done and added cost. LW blanks are ranging $145 then machine time and blueing will make it cheaper to get new complete breech block and barrel from TW Chamber s or Knibbs.

What are your favorite aspects of matches?

In your basic (club) weekly / monthly shoot, esp at an established club, It's always wise to remember demographics of participants... age, disabilities and even old bladders, etc... to some degree accommodating everyone and making things fairly accessible along a course is wise; esp if you want to grow membership and overall participation.

Then there is the flip side...

Transition away from your local shoot to participate in or "compete" and you suddenly encounter a diversity of course set ups AND more many advanced shooters who participate in a wide variety of events, locations, conditions.

Realistically, considering resources and land etc... it can be daunting to find a suitable location and then create the logistics to support it. I know this first hand as I'm a full 1 year into trying to create an FT location in an area where none exists... even beating the bushes to find new shooters is quite the challenge.

All said and done - for me - I enjoy the diversity of locations, terrain, targets, people, etc... I may suck overall as a shooter but always leave with a smile on my face when i was "challenged" or pushed to my limits. Too many gimmes and we're bored... too many tiny KZ's and we can be discouraged.

Bottom line: it is our expectations and thus our attitude(s) that makes or breaks the fun factor at any event. The people are always great and always helpful. But we have to keep our expectations inline with the resources available while, of course, working to improve everything associated with our hobby.

I drive 3 plus hours at least once a month to attend a formal/informal club shoot. Recently Baton Rouge has been doing some very interesting albeit challenging matches (hard as hell) at their club; not necessarily AAFTA style but VERY fun. Lots of variety and they let you try all different kinds of stuff. The course is in their flat area and moving from lane to lane is easy and the morning lighting makes ranging on most of the targets fairly easy. Of course, the 93 degree temp and 100 percent humidity at 8 a.m. will get your attention.

Hope you get to come shoot a match with us up here in New England sir!

220 Volt Yong Heng?

Also, the 110 volt cord that came on the compressor is a wierd size, 15 gauge, which is not sufficient for the compressor, let alone adding a 20 watt fan motor. I replaced my cord with a 14 gauge, high quality cord and soldered all the formally crimp on connectors. Wires to the motor appear to be cheap 14 gauge or 16 gauge. Never use an extension cord and plug it into a good circuit with a high quality 110 volt outlet. I installed one of the orange hospital grade outlets where I use the compressor, most people's outlets are worn out anyway. The compressor draws the most amperage of any 110 volt appliances made except a few 1875 watts heating appliances. My compressor runs noticeably faster, quieter and cooler now and I don't get thermal shutdowns like my brother's stock Youg Heng. Before I upgraded the cord and connectors, it seemed to pause for a second before actually starting and now it starts instantly with no hesitation. When you are pushing the limits of the 110 volt circuit, everything needs to be given the best wires and connections. Use a Flir One, $115 used on Amazon, to check for wiring issues and cooling system diagnostics. AND HAVE FUN DOING IT! The guns are not only part of the pcp hobby!

N/A  The low power pester part 2 with different desire

I had the same trepidation with the bottle against my face as you do but AirForce has used this design for a long time and I have never heard of any kind of failure or bodily injury.

As far as triggers there is no comparison. I have one of Derric’s Ghosts and the trigger is OK and the best it can be with the Ghost and Atomic design but it’s apples and oranges. The Vixen trigger is FAR superior.

Yes the Atomic is accurate and I am not dissing it at all but the Vixen is a notch above at least comparing the two Atomics I (owned) and now 2 Vixens I currently own.

Granted YMMV…
To your defense, I’ve owned many Leshiy 2’s which technically have the same thing, AND someone had one explode on them, so hey, I’m kind of being a hypocrite bringing it up.

Karma  Karma Red Panda...Extinct ??

Message send to KARMA and DONNYFL :
Good evening, I'm getting back to you to find out where you are with your quality control and deliveries of Karma Red Panda in Europe because, to this day, many people are asking me if things have changed since my video on the quality of Red Panda sold by Krale from China. My answer is currently still the same: the Karma made in China sold in Europe is a disaster. Having had no news or response from your resellers, I still strongly advise against purchasing this brand. I look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
I was soooo looking forward to getting the Karma RP... but now ....think i will pass !! :(

Louisiana Is Now Open to Hunting Deer with PCPs 2023-2024

@JCarlin2778 Did you create a post or thread about it? Did you post any photos? If so, can you drop a link please?
I did not post anything about hunting last year. I have not been a member long. I actually did not shoot anything with my dragonclaw. I bow hunt as well and took deer.

.20 Caliber Slugs available

(But not from a springer)
They're pretty impressive even as slow as 870-880, from the right barrel, but I don't think a springer is gonna get em that fast.....maybe an RX2/HW90 but it's gonna have to be hopped up and it'll be harsh.

Stacking Them High

@N2 Shooter, you broke that porkers’ heart…❤️💥🙈 You and your rig are simply devastating on the chucks, awesome kill shots, those 50 grain slugs just wreck them…🙏
The performance is fantastic! The only downside is my barrel needs more frequent cleanings, but that is a small price to pay for great terminal results.

Night Vision VS Thermal for hunting??

Something else to note about thermal scopes. One night I was in a tree stand overlooking a small pool by a culvert that went under a road. The hogs loved to wallow in the pool when it was hot, then rub the mud off on nearby trees. We had placed a feeder there and trail cameras revealed an abundance of hogs using the area. So while I'm waiting for the hogs to show up a bullfrog starts croaking in the pool. I looked and looked through my thermal scope but couldn't see him! Why? He's the same temperature as the water! No temperature difference for the thermal to pick up on. Weird, but makes sense if you think about it. You won't see cold blooded animals in a thermal, so gators, snakes, frogs etc. will go undetected.
I experienced this with a snake tonight. My dog was going nuts barking and I came out with my Burris BTH50 thermal hand scanner and a headlamp. I scanned and scanned and didn't see anything with my hand scanner, so I turned on the headlamp and my dog is going nuts sniffing the ground. Now I'm frustrated and fussing at the dog to show me what he is barking at. I was on a call and was advised to look at the ground for a snake. Lo and behold it was a coiled up copperhead. So after I got a good look at it in the light I tried viewing it through my thermal scanner and couldn't see anything, that is until I looked closer. What I found is that the snake was showing up black using the white hot setting. It was about 78ºF outside. I remembered someone mentioning this and thought I'd share the experience.
