FX  Delta Force Strong!!!

I asked Lodewyk to mil a chassis and knock the chips off and send it. He did a little more than that. He took any flash off and gave it a good sanding and partial buffing. I love the raw look. Even better with machine marks. It’s the mark of the tradesman I suppose. There are a few bobbles, and small scuffs, swirl marks in the chassis that won’t be there on the production pieces. The production pieces are cerakoted, FDE and black as of now. But more colors are possible in the future. Is this a prototype? not sure honestly, it could be. I do know it’s probably the only one finished in raw finish. Lodewyk said it was a pain in the butt, so there’s that. The cheek rest is a fitted piece, that can be removed for washing or left off if one would rather. The butt pad is a silicone type material, not sure exactly what it is, but it really stays where you put it on your shoulder. I do consider him a long distance friend, but I’m not afraid to be honest with him either. That said, I paid for this chassis and I offered to give him an amateur review if he didn’t mind my honesty. The guy is legit, and not afraid to stick it out there. I give him that.

Umarex  Umarex Notos

I'm a couple of months in & I am loving my first PCP. This Notos is incredibly accurate, light weight & for the price you can certainly afford a few nice toys to go along with it. Maple 15ct magazines were my first upgrade, Scope & stock support with M-rail , shooting stick ... I'm like a kid in a candy store !!
Next I'm thinking of a bi-pod & an offset mount to put on a Red Dot for very close up Iguana hunting (within 5 yards) .

PS: Hades or FX Atomic pellets are working spot on for me. Hitting a dime size cluster at 30 yards is a big thrill for me. Off hand is getting better everyday.

Air Arms  Quiet .177 PCP

As the OP thank you all for your suggestions and remarks.

I like the Stormrider's overall weight realizing that spending money on this rifle might not be the wisest, but this is just a young hobby for me. Just for grins I ordered an Altoros regulator to bring my Stormrider .177 to 12FPE and got a long length of right sized hammer spring to try and massage.

Mr. Brown dropped off my new chrony a day or so ago and I want to fiddle around with this Airacuda .22 and see what I can do to screw up that rifle:)

I realize the Buck Rail is an economy moderator but for the 2 economy rifles I recently purchasedhave currently they work as well as can be expected.

If I really want quiet and light weight I'll just grab my S200 with unknown moderator. Once my friend brings me the Streamline .22 I'll probably revisit higher end moderators.

Hunting From a Tree Stand - How Shooting Downward Affects Trajectory with Big Bores

For deer hunting tree stands will work...But do not control your odor completely..So sent lock suits, magic sprays, ozone equipment..spend a bunch of money... If you have a high deer density...Nothing works better than a sealed box blind built, bought, office trailer, camper, old school bus... I have a used office trailer i use now..this year ill build blind on a small ulitility trailer and move with tractor... I started hunting driving deer,,then treestands and sketchy tree houses,,now mainly enclosed box blinds of some sort...If i can control my scent i may see 5-15 deer pretty easily on my properties...

Air Arms  More power for my Air Arms MkIII?

I have the vortex spring kit in my Mark 3 and I'm getting about 660-ish feet per second with 16gr pellets... is there anybody else that offers a kit that can get me up around 800 + ft per second? Anybody out there with any tips or tricks or I can up the foot pounds in this baby?
Buy a Gamo Whamo hunter whisper elite magnum

Hatsan  Im shaking my head at this one...

Yeah def ***** bidders. Nothing surprises me with regards to online selling. Heck right now there are nine tins of pellets on the classys for like 20 bucks more than you can get them at PA 🤷‍♂️. Either the seller is completely clueless or thinks we all are. Lol.
Oh I got one better. A seller on here has a new rifle listed for ONLY 50 bucks more than you can buy it new yourself! Also expects shipping covered too! I asked for a price match, but they offered 25 off 🤣.

Best Fixed Optic for Compact Wildcat MK3

I like 3-12 or 4-16 for close to midrange hunting . I use Arken, Athlon and Vector. No problems with any of them so far . IR doesn't add much cost and can help in lower light situations. Some of my less than $200 scopes have decent glass and are fine for what I do . My Maverick has a 6-24 and it's used mostly for longer range and targets . I don't like heavy scopes and usually try find a light to middle weight scope .

I use a Hawke 4x on my squirrel hunter. Light, clear , and holds zero . Thicker reticle works great for hunting.

JSB .22/20.83 BC and first impressions

Some more data points for these 20.83g pellets for FX shooters…

I shot a 197 11X 40-Challenge card on 7/3 - wind was 14 mph gusting to 28mph. No way I could have broken 190 at 40 yards with the 18.13s in that wind. These 20.83 grain seem to handle wind much better.

For the 197 I used FX Power Pup with 500mm super light barrel. Velocity was 915fps (reg about 140 bar).

Then a 600mm superlight barrel arrived that I bought off AGN classified.

I swapped 600mm onto the PP and changed nothing (hammer spring or reg).

Took two zero shots and then shot 5-shot group with 20.83g at 40 yards - well under 1/2” edge to edge at 965fps.

Then took another 5-shot group with 25.39g MRDs as a comparison. Group was also under 1/2” edge to edge at 860-865fps.

So Franklink, my initial test at 965fps with the 20.83s is consistent with your experience - they seem to handle this high velocity well.

I’ve since been shooting 40-yard cards with the 20.83s at 910-920 fps (to save a little air). I’ve consistently been over 190, which is great for me.

Summary FX Superlight result with 20.83g:
500mm - 915fps
600mm - 965fps
Great accuracy at both speeds - even in wind that would challenge 18.13g.

HW/Weihrauch  Weihrauch 125 Years 1899 Limited Editions

I don't recall all the details, but I believe Webley owned the V-Mach brand but as far as i know left it defunct, think they sold some tuning kit rights to Air Joe in Germany, they do replicas of the original kits. Midcounties Blacking, a UK gun store, took over the name and trademark. They now operate as Venom Customs, offering tuning and customization services in the spirit of the original Venom team. They occasionally showcase their work on their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/profile/100046466026052/search/?q=venom
Thanks for the background on the V Mach stuff. I wasn't aware of any of transitions.

Webley never owned the V-Mach branding. They did, however, acquire the rights to the Venom name when they established the Webley-Venom Custom Shop in 1998. After Webley went out of business in 2005, AGS purchased the company, including the Venom trademark. Following this, Steve Pope founded V-Mach, which he operated until his untimely passing in 2020. The Airgun Joe team collaborated with airgunsmith Lyndon Lewington of ARC Tuning, a close friend of Steve Pope, to develop a version of the V-Mach kits. MCB have silent permission from the current Webley owners to use the Venom trade-name.

If you fancy a deeper dive into Venom/V-Mach i wrote about it here.

N/A  advice

I have a 30 caliber AGT Vulcan 3
I was shooting 55gn slugs @ 960 fps ( 112 ft lbs) when I took this rabbit... Entered his eye, then proceeded to remove all brain matter from skull.
@ 100yds it's still moving @ 843 fps (86 ft lbs)

Recommended ft lbs of energy for hunting coyote is only 50 ft lbs so this is way above that even at 100 yds.

I actually tuned it down a tad, was shooting 60gn slugs @ 954 fps (120+ ft lbs)

Other  ***Safety issue read***

I used something very similar to these:

You can find some with loops already on each end, or buy some line marriers to make your own loops and crimp them in place.

What optics are you using?
UTG Bugbuster 3x12x32 is on it now 🎯. I ordered it with a peep site and put 5 shot group within .61 CTC. I like it for Its versatility; go to the range 15, 25 yards and even tried it a couple of times at 50 yards. I even have used it in the garage at 22 feet.

No more gamo for me

My gamo seal looks close to the ops with a chunk out ..lol

Still shoots great with that and maintaining 780 fps ..

Its funny not even custom air seals offers the gamo 33mm deal on any USA market site like there Amazon or eBay . You have to buy it direct from them or a e.u. Place that offers it .

Makes me think of they did offer it like USA Amazon or something USA gamo must stop or sue them cause why sell it everywhere but here ? Hmm...

Just shot the other day gamo on it's "stock irons" 50 y with cphp 22 and it's going on 7 years old

irons, gamo, cphp, 50y (2).jpg

Now who says you can't shoot good out of Walmart ?

AEA 21.9gr pellets

Thank you to you and the other guys in these recent threads for all the work you all have been putting into testing out these newer pellets in 22 and sharing with us!!

I miss having a 22, and these threads have me thinking about going back to a 22 for my next rifle instead of sticking with 25 or jumping up to 30 (which I know I don’t need). More than thinking about actually, pretty much convincing me to.

That being said, it was kinda nice when my only 2 real options (for me) were the 18 and 25 JSB (2 settings). All these newer options mean more testing time. But with an easy to tune rifle, I don’t mind that so much either as it can be fun.
