ASC June Match Report

Eleven tough Texans decided it wasn't hot enough yet and attended a field target match at the beautiful Arlington Sportsman's Club on June 22nd. (Asst. MD note: Jim C. is definitely a Texan, he just has a rare speech disorder called Downton-Abbeyism). Scotty H beat Brian S because Brian was not as good at kneeling, which is a very Texan way to lose a match. Conditions were a little hot, a little windy and a lot of fun. There were some interesting competitions going on with the WFTF and Unlimited classes, with David A and Paul B coming out on top, respectively. I tied for first and last place as the only piston shooter. Because we shot so quickly, I never had the chance to take any photos. You're welcome.

Thanks to everyone for helping take down the course, it was very appreciated. Our July match will not be happening because the MD and AtMD will be out of town. The next match will be August 24th.

Here's the scores. Quick note, I don't think Brian was shooting a Daisy Powerline, I think he was having some fun on the scorecard.

Airforce  Talon Magnum

@jgreen , very nice compact setup. How does the air stripper effect the gun? With or without effects would be fine. Thanks in advance.
I wish I could have awesome effects. Thanks for the compliment. The stripper takes the pop away and makes it sound like sasquatch sneezing in the forest, approximately.

Skout slugs …Anyone?

Scotty1. Yes I’ve had great results with these 48.8 Gr slugs.. Been running them around 880 fps.The video was at 50 yrds in real time too.. I shot them at 100 yrds but don’t have any video I will say this 100 yds wasn’t near as tight.. Shooting Skout 35”barrel on a bench… Good luck let me know what you are shooting those slugs..

AirMaks Arms  Current Krait setup

Just a thought, since you guys are getting hammer inconsistencies at lower settings you should probably check your hammers finish and clean off any liquid lube. I run all my hammers dry, with a touch of graphite and I can shoot in the heat or the freezing cold and my settings don't fluctuate.

Other  NEW Reximex Throne 2 COMPACT (Review Video) Now for sale in the USA!!!

Ha...you're kidding...right ?
1/18 scale RC cars maybe. 1/10 (or larger) RC or especially full sized cars MUCH money !!!
I'm working on a street legal drag racer. parts are "NOT"...cheap. A quality "race" oriented carburetor, $900+ dollars.

So yeah, stick with your "small"...RC cars.

Mike
Small RC? Mine is 4 feet long and has a 1 mile + control range with live video feed from 3 cameras (can move them L/R and zoom up to 30X) and a Fog Horn, 6mm Full Auto M4...all controled from the remote. 1.2 GHZ video feed with long range remote stuff (forgot which one). Send the Mavic 3 up with a repeater, or an RC plane on auto pilot for unlimited control ranger. Oh yeah, Night Vision too with 2 IR torches.

Diana  I'll say it again, NO MORE NEW GUNS!

Thank you, its stunning. In my defense I didn't know there was an HW55T. So I went down an HW55 rat hole researching it, you hit the lottery my friend.
Be careful going down the "discontinued springer" rabbit hole. It runs deep and you may find you want them all

Other  Scratches on HW97/TX200 style sliding breech

When I owned a few HW77’s and HW97, a polished the sliding chamber and then buttoned it with ARH “old school buttons”. I placed them where they couldn’t be seen, they acted as a buffer to keep the metal parts away from each other.

Good idea. Thanks for the tip. (y)
