hehe well toy / firearm, you should probably not be a smart ass in public, even here in Denmark stupid kids of stupid parents have met the police,,,, emmmm cant remember what they are called here,,,, not SWAT of course.

Funny thing i dont even think airsoft ASO weapons here need to have a orange tip,,,,,, which just amaze me, but then again i get that a lot from my rulers.

I will admit WHY ? put that magazine on there in the first place, seem stupid and irresponsible if you ask me, net least factoring in that here it is probably all visual.
Was it something like the DRS and it at least was a plenum i could understand it, but on a GD break barrel that's just asking for problems.

PS: back in 2012 when the Danish airgun scene was ruined, it was due to clickbait newspaper articles, and then a few kids in the capitol area using something like this ( cheap .177 break barrel ) on people in the streets.
And so my hobby was ruined for pretty much nothing.

I loathe the disrespect and distrust my rulers show me,,,,, sure if i am a animal,,,, throw me in a cage and then throw away the key.
But until then respect me, or you will get nothing in return but contempt.
same thing happened to brocock, back I forgot when..probably 30 years ago..I had a brocock 522 and it was a great gun after I rebuilt the tandem air cartridge with industrial o rings.. I wish I could have and would have stayed with airguns.. but life got in the way and I had to pay bills..
I'd sure like to have that old brocock 522 and then the matching single six and then the golden boy.. mine was the original design and the side of the cylinder was turned out, so you could see the cartridges but they were held at the back 1/3 and front..it also prevents turning into a firearm..a later model they had solid cylinder and some bad guys drilled out the barrel and must have changed the firing pin since it was made flat to push the valve on the cartridge.. anyway crime was done and they were seized and outlawed in the country of manufacture so brocock went out of business until they came back in a standard PCP gun..
it's just really sad that bad people can ruin nice things for us all..
hopefully this post is ok.. I'm definitely not in favor of doing anything wrong.

HW/Weihrauch  New HW97K .177 Accuracy

Now you know what I talk about. My Hw50 is 7 lbs flat because I use an 11 oz fixed power non AO scope. It's my best handling rifle and the only one I take into the woods. Can I carry a heavier gun? Sure but why would I of I don't have to? The 50 is the Goldilocks Weihrauch. It's just right.

Be well

Like I said before it gets priority status, I'm going to have to get it to shoot as good offhand as the 77K does. Or the middle choice the R10. The R10 is the most forgiving 177 I own, and the most accurate. But with a complete HO tune from J.T. that goes unsaid. I'll give a little accuracy, and don't need 15.5 fpe for squirrel.

The 11.8 fpe will work, but gotta get it to quit shooting low left 3/8" at 20 yards when I take it off the bench. We'll get there but gotta find what it likes, just like with a fine woman, they gotta be held their way!! Once you do that the dividends pay off!

Skout  Attention Skout Epoch Owners-

OK as a last resort I Installed a thicker O ring On the valve thanks to manabeknives observations . Luckily I have a lot of assorted O rings ,
the O rings supplied with the gun were all to thin . so now the gun Is holding air , thanks to you guys and your Input at the end of the day an easy fix . who needs customer service when you have forums like this . Although I think Skout needs to fix this O ring problem .
Glad i could help :)

What is the Purpose of Knurling on Slugs?

It shot ok...better that without the Knurling by about 500%.

This is 25 shots at 50y. The accuracy isn't bad but these blow a lot more than I would like. I think they were 34g. I use mostly Rimfire barrels and this was a way to evaluate slug shapes that would not have fit well in the .223 barrels.

Mike View attachment 476596
VK now has .223 slugs he offers in both 28.5gr, and 32.8gr. I'll be testing the 32.8gr out of the Huben GK1 and K1 this week since these are brand new

BM500 HV up to 940 fps with 25 gn`s,, is it possible ??

I understand that you need to enlarge the transfer port a bit, install a high efficiency valve, install an external plenum of at least 40cc and anti hammer bounce device with a bit stronger spring.

It should do the trick 👍

My BM500X .22 is shooting 25 grain pellets at around 950fps with a similar set up.

Regulator is around 150 bars.

Thank you for the excellent and helpfull information. Doug and Vipha

Air Arms  Air Arms SE90 Side Lever

I have one of these.

It's not had much use recently, and I'm trying to source a barrel weight so I can sell it. Bizarre as it sounds, mine did not come with the barrel weight. As a teenager who only want to target shoot and plink with I didn't realise.

Other than missing the barrel weight, it's a beautiful airgun.

Balistics App Truing??

As ranges and velocity changes get larger, you will increasingly encounter difficulties matching firings. There are basic fundamental problems with using trajectory models which rely on the use of BCs. The reference drag law will never match the shape of the actual drag curve of the projectile. Coupled with this, many of the available models do not have suitable drag laws in the first place for pellets or slugs. In addition, many users do not put in the correct atmospheric conditions when calculating a BC from measured speeds, or when subsequently using the trajectory models.

None of this makes a great deal of difference when ranges are 50 yards or so, but as ranges get longer, then problems can occur. Using multiple BC values is one way to try to match at certain points, but it is not solving the basic problems with the use of BCs, or the inbuilt inaccuracies of the point mass model used by just about all the available trajectory models.

This is why many years ago the large calibre weapons trajectory models changed to purpose drag laws and modified point mass models which need a lot more input data than is available for bullets, pellets or slugs, unless you can create it yourself.

Air venturi avenger plenum

Basically you can choose to increase your power, or shot count. On my Avenger I saw more power after adding a plenum extension without making any other adjustments. I could chose to lower my tune settings to increase shot count some, but I want all the fps. And I have a 300cc bottle conversion so shot count is like one million. You probably dont actually have to make any adjustments to answer your question, but can and likely will want to.

For the stock though, you will obviously need to remove some material to make room for the plenum extension. I have a wood stock so I used a hole saw, file, and dremel.

Huben  Latest GK1 wunderpistol wonderment

Thank you. You are gener
Sure, UL.

After much tuning both when I had only 250 BAR charging capabilities, and after I (now) have 350 BAR capabilities, I located the sweet-spot charge pressures to return at least a full 19-shot magazine within acceptable extreme velocity spreads (30 FPS or less). Of course the velocity and power of those (at least) 19 shot power-bands increased proportional to the charge pressure.

Here are the results achieved at 315 BAR charge pressure with my two preferred pellets, thankfully equally accurate in my .22 GK. Of course the 18.1s are flatter-shooting, but notice the substantial 10% muzzle energy advantage of the 22.07s-

18.1 grain FX, tuned for 310 BAR fill, 23 shot powerband- Low= 912, Hi= 942, ES= 30, SD= 10, Average= 930 FPS/34.8 FPE

22.07 grain JTS, 315 BAR fill, 21 shot powerband- 870/894/24/6.3/882/38.1

I mostly shoot the 22.07s almost exclusively, in case I get the opportunity at a coyote on my 30 acre home-place.

By the way, I'm trying to reduce my keyboarding time; and am also a big believer in/advocate of the most antiquated and efficient form of communication known to Man. Feel free to call me if you need more information.

Ron

N/A  New and need help choosing a PCP rifle

One thing to keep in mind are your state's hunting regulations regarding airguns. Recent years have seen the addition of airguns for hunting for many states. Minimum caliber and more can be found in the hunting regs. I've read the whole posting and didn't see this mentioned. I wish you luck in your journey. Have fun and stay safe legally.

Results  OKCGC Field Target match for 6-2024

Another fun match in OKC! A 35 Troyer, it was a very challenging course with almost a four way shoot-off for third to boot.
Mike A. has become a phenom to shoot against. Isn’t this his fourth win in a row between Tulsa and OKC? A big shout out to Mike also for the beautiful pepper stock. I got it mounted up and the hold with the adjustable cheek is much better than the black factory one. You ain’t getting it back either Mike! 😀 it’s bound to help improve the forced position shots.
Besides the expected challenges of the forced lanes, lane five was a whole different lane and lane ten was a close second for me.
My son Adam, said he had a lot of fun too and said shooting FT is a lot harder than shooting his ANG issued weapon.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in Tulsa in a couple of weeks, July 13th!

Self-resetting traps

I've been using the Goodnature squirrel (A18), rat and mouse traps (A24) for the past 4 years or so.

I have a bunch of the A24's and some Chinese (from e-bay) knock-offs around the yard. And I have one of the A18's up a tree.

By and large they work well. They're useful both for when you have an infestation and you need to kill many quickly (where "many" is 8-10 a day per trap) and also for when your rodent population is mostly under control but you might only see a rat or squirrel in your yard once every week or two.

You bait the trap with a bait that can last a few months in mild climates (to half a year in colder climates) and the trap kills the animal with a CO2-powered captive bolt system. If you set the trap up properly, the target will fall out of the trap and gets eaten by other animals in your yard, be it crows, your chickens or other pest animals. The trap automatically resets and clobbers the next animal that comes along. The A18 designation means that the trap will reset 18 times before the CO2 cartridge is empty, A24 means 24 times.

I learned about these from the Shaun Woods channel, here are his videos.

For the most part they're great and keep my rodent population well under control. Due to the nature of the trap, you can leave them unattended for long periods of time.

One of the downsides of the trap is sometimes corpses can get stuck in the trap, and will need to be manually cleared before the trap is functional again. In my 4 years that's only happened once, with a trap placed on the ground. A particularly fat rat that barely fit into the trap got "glued into" the entrance with the blood that came out of his head, when the trap smooshed it. I suspect this has happened many times before, but other animals would have taken the corpse out of the trap. But not this time.

The chinese knock-offs are pretty good, but you do get better quality with the originals. The main difference is the knock-offs use buna-n o-rings to seal the CO2 cartridge, where the originals use teflon seals. After 6 months, the units with o-rings are always out of gas, while the teflon ones can still have a few charges remaining, provided they havent caught a lot of animals. Other than that, the units are essentially identical.

You can set the units up to use your own bait preparations, or you can buy pre-prepared bait packs fro Goodnature. The items from Goodnature are pretty pricey, so I'd advise to figure out good bait for whatever it is you're trying to dispose of, on your own.

Shoot my bad man. I wasn't trying to rub it in on ya. Just got excited over this one because it can keep up with me. I hope you get back up and running ASAP. PCPs are great fun and I feel your pain. Best of luck man!
Hey again @joeyw007

$ 206.99 NOTOS anyone?

Wait for your 10 post minimum if youd like...., but in my opinion, the Notos is very quiet, right out of the box!
No additional moderator needed, in my opinion.
And Maple and Carm, both have their own web sites, for reliable aftermarket mags, either of which are highly recomennded.
Well, I'll let price be the determination then!
And I think that makes 10 posts 🙂
