HW/Weihrauch  2 ish MOA

I feel you with the wind. I’ve set flags at 25, 50, 75, and 100 and there were times they were all moving in different directions. I’m not good enough to memorize that sort of variation. As for cant, I have levels on most of my scopes. And they do help. At 75 yards my pellet drops approximately 16” from a 30 yards zero. A slight cant can cause inches of horizontal drift. I put 5 shot over a chrony before shooting any of my rifles. And this one is one of my most consistent. Pretty much a 10fps spread between a 720 or 730 average depending on temperature.
I just got this back from warranty work, so it's a bit like starting over. I had a Vortek kit added and trigger work done, since AoA,s work doesn't affect warranty. Once it settles down I'll get serious with it. I can only hope to get you results.

Buying from the GX website

Is buying from the GX website safe? Seems like they are, or at least the pump I am looking at, is cheaper on the GX website.
I just bought a GX- L3, saved about $130 over Amazon and no tax charged. Takes about a week and mine came through undamaged and running fine

FX  Panthera .25 target air consumption

Hi All,

Starting down the path of tuning my panthera and had a good read of the threads here.

Took a finger in the air tune today of 128ish and 3 on the micro and it was pretty ok with Altaros 50gn at 910fps (going to drop that a bit)

One question I can’t find an answer to is what is a “good” air consumption per shot (rather than shots per fill)

I was using about 6BAR per shot today from the 300cc bottle

Hi Mike,
Just saw your response. Not avoiding you, haha! I love that scope, it would look great on my nickle boron 10/22 receiver!

interesting devise

When I want to shoot that squirrel on a tree branch 50 yards away, and from my location I can see the leaves moving in the breeze but have no sense of velocity or direction, I just put this interesting device up there next to the squirrel and the info it sends to my cell phone will tell me where to aim. Right?
Right................. And let us know how was it ;)
btw, I know exactly what it takes to bring that squirrels down in between branches and leaves ... and my cats will finish the story :)

Hatsan  Hatsan Jet POI shift.

I have a 22 cal jet 2 set up in the carbine configuration with a scope. I currently polished the trigger and barrel, lightened the springs on the mags, polished the hammer and removed the 2 hs preload washers. It now gets 3 mags with great accuracy out to 35 yards on a fill. According to the pressure gauge I could shoot 4 mags but poi starts dropping a little. I also put a .25 cal buckrail moderator on it. It shoots way better with the moderator than without. Interestingly of all the pellets I tested the hatsan vortex 17grain shoot the best. My problem is with how the barrel is fastened in the polymer housing, if it gets bumped even a little my poi shifts drastically. I tried to fix this by drilling small divots where the set screws contact the barrel but it didn’t seem to help. Did anyone else with a jet have this problem? Any suggestions to fix it?

slugged an unmashined LW barrel

Sounds like a CHOKE is present !!

YES a slug will hang up @ 1" from muzzle due to said choke if present.
Put slug threw choke first, indeed the slug will pass down barrel w/o touching rifling and appear smooth
** One needs to prep barrel as in a LEADE and a proper Crown before determining condition of bore end to end. (y)
Usually when buying raw barrel blanks 1 inch should be cut off both ends...when you pull a button.rifeling through more stress at.both ends...normal barrels.not.choke.airgun. stuff..

Beeman  Beeman Commodore Regulator Adjustment?

Just purchased a Beeman Regulated Commodore in .177 and am trying to tune the rifle. The manual does not go into regulator adjustment, only adjusting the hammer spring, and my searches only come up with installing a regulator, not adjusting one. I can't find a schematic for the rifle either, hoping that would lead me to the regulator or at least the adjustment screw.

Don

FX  FX King .25 & Huma Transfer Port V2 with Pin Probe - Installation Question.

There was a video of him lubeing up the hammer and not the probe carrier. I wouldn't follow his directions...
I would agree that he is not the best technical person, but his videos do show all the parts. I always recommend "Sub12Airgunners" for technical stuff.
Cheers,
Greg

Results  DIFTA Match Report Saturday, July 6, 2024

Eight shooters turned out for a steamy match at DIFTA. During the course of the match temps climbed from the high 80s to the low 90s and, as far as I know, for the first time shooters greeted the wind with sighs of relief, accepting that the cooling breeze came with the challenge of adjusting aim points. DIFTA is surrounded by farm land and shooters near lanes 11-12 witnessed nature at work, with a coyote chasing down a fawn deer for an early lunch! Due to the tree canopy, some lanes were dark, but overall ,we had reasonable shooting conditions for summer in MD.

We welcomed a new FT shooter, David Floyd, who got expert advice from his squad mate Greg White. After a 2 year hiatus, Antoni Kleczek, a Junior joined us, and we hope that both he and David will shoot at DIFTA again.

The match high score was again taken by Greg White in Hunter Division, followed by Tinh Nguyen who led an unusually large group of Open Division shooters.

At the end of the match we took an informal vote on whether the match design at DIFTA was too difficult and everyone agreed that despite the challenge we should continue with our current target selection. So be it!

As always many thanks to those who travel long distances to compete and keep our sport alive

Brocock/BRK  I'm getting to know my new Brocock/Brk Commander XR Magnum Cerekote in .22

If I didn't mention it previously, my first keeper Brocock/Brk is an Atomic with folding stock and the precision micro hammer adjuster. I have a Pard Night Vision scope on that and the Atomic is my favorite Airgun. I have re-homed my TOO extensive collection of PCPs down to just my fravorites, Panthera 600mm dual bottle, Panthera Hunter Compact, Atomic, Commander XR and Commander XR Magnum, all in .22. Still "too many" but I love the precision and reliability I get from them. I shoot every day in my backyard for at least an hour or two at 50m and 30m. Given that I'm mostly retired and a I'm a service-connected disabled combat veteran, it is what I enjoy (beside my Grandkids) most in life at this point. As to Brocock/Brk vs the Pantheras, I think that the Panthera is superior due to power, accuracy, tunability, modularity and reliability. I've so far had no reliability issues with my Brocock/BRKs. I also greatly enjoy the comradity of the PCP community on Facebook and these forums. My PTSD has me "adverse to being around most people" and this as been as good an alternative so far, as I could find. Fortunately I do have a new friend an hour away from em that I enjoy contact with and go to the Range occasionally with. He's what I consider a remarkable, admirable person and Dad but a PCP 'Expert'. (Matt Reinhardt)

Air Arms  "Blacked out" Prosport complete..

It's still holding up good, I've shot at least a couple of tins thru it since then. The stuff I used isn't ideal and I coated it with a clear matte spray to protect it. I already had the stuff so I used it.
I would think anodizing would hold up really well, or powder coat. Time will tell how this holds up, but I do like it way better than bare aluminum.
Happy to hear!

AirMaks Arms  how to drain air from Caiman X?

I have a first gen as well bought used from Utah AG. No degassing tool with it. No help from AirMaks when requested either. A manual is indeed available online but does no friggin good when the special tool is not available. Called Utah about it and the guy suggested shooting it down and finish degassing by loosening the gauge. I will try this soon as the reg needs the weevil mod.
