Design a perfect field target facility

Alabama> Are you shooting at the Invecta Club?
Brad Troyer is a master at setting up courses! Along with David Slade and a few others simple the best course period.
Shot at his old TVA shoots, We ran both a "hunter" course , complete with large with grape vines blowing back & forth past a log you had to shoot over ..... and a more standard FT course.
Invecta , HIGH angle shots, DOWN the hill across the creek (interesting winds sometimes) at the bottom of the valley and just so much more.
The GOB couse at Roz's "Play Ground of Champions"was THE best, 3 different course set up for the last World's (again Brad, David, Roz designing and lot's helping clearing .... ). On any of the courses one could hold a 60 shot match on 10 lanes , 12 lanes or 60 lanes. Along with an excellent sight in range which one could shoot 3 different direction to get a handle on the wind. The ability to shoot fully tee lined, partial tree sheltered then full wind and perhaps back into a no wind zone before target. Over moving creeks which always make there own drafts .......
The (TN) Widder Stephens Club -'Govols" was flat yet fun and THE Windiest club in history! Sometime blowing closed Pelican cases out onto the range but FUN.
Naturally all the above were slightly changed most every shoot even subtle thing like moving a target just a few yards at some critical distance and so many other little interesting tricks.
If you are not already shooting there GO! So many of the best FT minds in the nation to glen from.

John
i just googled them... I've met Brad and Dave good people! 5 hours and 25 minutes away.

Gk1 Kills for the day 😎

Holy cow man!
I'm trying to get a few guys together and come down there to join in carnage!
Great shooting man and the GK1 is one badass pesting rig! I just love mine and haven't wanted to even shoot anything else 😜
I love the GK1! I just recently traded my katran for an ataman bullpup .22, and I really only use it if I want to use slugs. The .219 22g zans shoot beautifully out of it!

My Nemesis

Physics.
Nothing shoots flat, even essentially!
Hysterically speaking, "essentially" is a BAD word.... when what i mean to say, is the relative rise and fall of the pellet in relation to the earth's curvature is minimized somewhat predictably from two certain points in space and time....before gravity completely wins... or some such nonsense of which i have no idea.

PCP Rifle  SOLD Benjamin P-rod

Custom tuned by Airgun Revisions (at my request) for LOW POWER to shoot CPHPs at 585. They installed a smaller transfer port and adjusted the hammer for a flat shooting curve from 2550 to 1650, to build one sweet little barn gun and it’s seen its share of use but still in 9.5/10 condition. It gets 3 mags in this range and is very accurate at 40 yards and in. My zero was at 25Y with a target provided to show how it shoots With several different pellets.

Holds air forever. Comes with 3 mags, picatinny rail and everything pictured.

Asking $350 shipped. Not looking for any trades. I’ve sold lost of guns and stuff here all with 100% positive feedback. PayPal or postal MO accepted.

*** There is one mark on the rear of the hammer housing. I had an AR stock mounted for a while and the adapter left a mark on it but it doesn’t affect anything. I covered the mark with a Sharpie but I wanted to disclose this to any potential buyer.

Tuning  Who else enjoys breaking in their springers instead of tuning?

I don't have enough experience with springers to know.
My R1 was stolen in 95.
After that I primarily shot pistols, powder burners, and my Sheridan.

I recently purchased two Weihrauchs an HW30 and an HW97K. Now after 500+ rounds in each I am scrutinizing them starting with the 97K.
I have had problems with the 97 not latching well, unless I slam it. I may be having the issue with the 30 as well, as both guns don't always engage the safety. I hate to slam them, but it may be necessary?

I haven't checked the 97 or the 30 yet after 500, but I suspect poor consistency with velocity. I've had the 30, shooting at 75 yards occasionally drop a pellet way short.
On the 97k I had as much as 30 fps variation on the chrony early on.
Both guns are still dieseling after 500 rounds, and you can't expect consistent velocities with that going on. If you don't have consistent velocities, you can't expect consistent long range accuracy.
So that points me to have them tuned, but by who?

YH rebuilt

A real eye opening is reading the Temp closer to piston rings.... I really cannot see how can I improve the cooling there. The hottest part in the entire system is the second stage output pipe to the second aluminum block. And the second block vibrates and cooks.
I tried things no luck ... that block would need water cooling somehow.

Microscope pictures of FX 30 Cal 44.8 Gr and AEA 30 Cal 45 Gr

The tray pellets do look better, not flawless, but better.
I have noticed that .177’s in cans seem to have much fewer damaged skirts. I suppose it’s because they are lighter in weight, but, they also put a lot of them in a can which makes the bottom layer particularly at risk for damage. I recently had a tin of .30 pellets that had about a third of them with severely damaged skirts.

FX  Overthinking FX Dreamline tuning.

Put your transfer port on high and hammer spring adjuster on max number. Start shooting for 960 velocity by bringing the regulator pressure down till you max out at 960. Then bump the hammer spring adjuster down to your 920 fps. It will be much calmer and easier on air.
Everthing I needed to know in less words than my question. Thanks very much.

Pellets vs 1st Gen vs 2nd gen slugs

anything can be done .. you know it 'used to be' that stock-cars were meant to keep an affordable yet very competitive and enjoyable class of racing for the average guy .. are they 'better' now that they really arnt at an affordable level? .. sure they are, but what direction did the once enjoyable sport go? .. i can throw thousands at anything at all and 'improve' it, trust me .
It's like fishing with the newer technology like fish finders. Past 2 years forward facing sonar has had a huge impact on fish caught and some killed. Some pros have taken a stand to ban them and I agree. Love my down and side imagine, it's enough for me.

Could not have asked for a better day to shoot FT! You are sooo right about shooting dark targets in the shadows. If I didn’t know better I’d say Jeff Cloud set those up. Lane six where we started I could not make out the near target or shape to be able to range it and could only see the KZ. Missed the first shot but made the second shot. Adam was getting ready to shoot next and I told him the target was hard to make out. He said, “ I can see it just fine”. When I looked back at the target, the sun had popped out of the shadows and was fully illuminated. If I’d would have waited just another two minutes. Oh well..😉
For those who were unable to attend, you guys missed a well oiled match and a fun one to boot!
It was great to see new faces and hope to see them again. Adam could possibly be a regular now he understands the range marking on the wheel but that’s my fault.☹️
Hope to see everyone at the Tulsa match June 8th!

American Air Arms  EVOL HP

Just saw this post.

I got to shoot one that Dana has. It was slinging Alturos slugs out to a steel fence at 200 yards and grooped very tightly.

Pricing? I was told they’ll be somewhat higher than the standar models, but that’s all I know.

I liked it. It’ll keep up with my Tikka 17HMR.
