HFT Rifle Raw Micro vs BRK Carbine

RAW’s don’t need much reviewing, so much information out there already plus there’s only really two action sizes, ( maybe a third Theoben?) triggers are phenomenal compared to about 99% of what’s out there! And remember these guns have been produced and perfected in this basic form for many, many years. So here’s what I shot this morning. 30 at 30yd this is a 25m practice card. “Cold bore no practice shots, did this on purpose for my own knowledge”View attachment 593206
Sweet card. It looks like you have got her dialed in well. Yes, there is a lot out there to read about the TM1000 but the pistol version is relatively new; at least it is to me. I’m trying to soak up all the knowledge that I can find. There are a couple good videos on YouTube that are really helpful. Thanks,
Kenny

FX  FX barrel liner twist rate....for the umpteenth time?

The "FXB" numbers delineated in the above screen capture are NOT part numbers. They are ARTICLE numbers that cross-reference back to drawing numbers and cross-reference forward to PART numbers.

Article number FXB 20362 will cross-reference backwards to all drawings for each FX model that uses this article and forward to every Part Number assigned to a 4.5 caliber, 300 millimeter liner.

There are individual Part Numbers for every twist rate - lands & groove deminsions produced for Article Number FXB 20362.
Yeah ok, so the average user that is looking at the part number on their soda straw or what ever is supposed to be digging around to do all of that. Nonsense I've got soda straws all with the same part number but different twist rates, I hate to break it to FX but in all of my years in manufacturing we NEVER EVER did that, they are unique parts and should have a unique number, even if the front ones are all the same.

N/A  Boxed- All Docs, Hy-score 802 with a good price on Ebay? Are prices dropping back lately

Prices are coming down on used anything that SELLS; going up on everything that doesn't SELL. That's no coincidence.

In the last 5 gun shows and swap-and-shops that I've had tables I sold more than any other exhibitor; in some cases, more than every other exhibitor combined! How do I do it?

I price things I want to move realistically, and also realize no-one will pay asking price. So I expect to barter asking prices by 10%, and send anyone offering less than 85% of asking price packing.

Taipan Slash & Slash Tactical in stock!!

I was really thinking into buying one, but its "a bit" salty on the price.

Does the integrated moderator work ok?
Is there any feedback on the trigger? One semi-auto airguns usually is not great...
Is it easy to tune? It says that IT SHOULD NOT BE TUNED, but right next in the text says that it can be easilly tuned between X and Y value...

HW/Weihrauch  Moderator Insert on a HW97K ?

When I got my first HW97 I opted to get the proprietary HW moderator at time of purchase. It's really not necessary but does take a few db's off (kinda sounds like a red ryder, slight twang with no "snap"). Only noticed the little sound reduction because a slight muzzle report would rebound/echo off the barn and/or shed while shooting off the back deck (without the additional can), never really noticed in open field. Pellet impact is much louder than a box stock HW97's muzzle report. Didn't bother trying to quiet my second HW97.

That being said, some find the need to quiet their AG's as much as possible for various reasons. As long as it doesn't effect the accuracy or risk pellet clipping, I say do whatever that tickles your fancy, floats your boat or get your jollies off. I will say an insert is cleaner than a can, but I'm not a fan of 3D printed anything past the muzzle...

Booster pump and Yong Heng Vs GX Filter

When you ran the Altoros with the GX filter, did you still use the pre-filter set up on it? I so, the water vapor would have already been removed . . . or at least ~98% of it . . .

It sure seems to be a great filter either way!

When I received it a few weeks ago I unthreaded the top of the GX and took it apart to see what I was getting. Put it back together the same way it came out of the box.

Running it with the Altaros booster was just an experiment to see if it'd pull any moisture out of the post-Altaros air. I didn't alter my typical Altaros setup, so the silica beads and moisture blows-outs for the low pressure side were all in effect. I just added the GX filter as a last stage, between the Altaros and my bottle being filled, like I used to do with the inline tampon filters. GX didn't pull any moisture out of the high pressure air leaving the Altaros so I won't use it with the Altaros anymore, but will certainly be using it with the Yong Heng when I want a fast (read "babysat" 🙄) fill.

Crosman  Crosman 150 anyone?

yes, the way i heard it Crosman made sure all the ones going to Sears or Montgomery ward etc were selected best machined of the bunch maybe best blueing whatever. Same like beemans selections of HWs. I have both the 150 and the MKI/ LD with an 8 inch barel. The MKI is slightly better in sevral ways. Better trigger, better power, a touch more accurate and efficiency of the upside down cartridge . BUT the price is weight and size.

Other  Recommended book

This one by DT Fletcher should be right up your alley. There is relatively little text, mostly it's 300 pages of factory catalogs, instruction sheets, drawings, etc. (the two recommended above are both fabulous, but of course the Encyclopedia of Spring Air Pistols has nothing on Benjamin's pneumatic and CO2 guns).

Also OOP and probably kinda hard to find, unfortunately.

RAW Rapid  RAW HM1000X .25 or .30 cal

Jerry

I just saw Tim (igolfat8) ….this always cracks me up)

Post up some 100 yard EBR target scores testing various pellets. The AEA 45g pellets at 920 FPS scored a whopping 232 score. But he also had very decent results overall with wind and pellets on his other cards.

I know you are in the midst of waiting on Martin’s .30 pellet probe delivery and my .30 barrel, so I am very encouraged about your prospects of using the .30 for 100y + EFT targets.

Boerne (TX) Field Target Match Announcement Aug 9 2025

Hello Fellow Shooters,
We will have two back to back matches this month!
Field Target in the morning:
Temps in the 90s--we will have water, air, and bug spray.

The usual:
33 Shooting Club Rd, Boerne TX
0800 Sight in
0900 Match begins
This is a 60 shot match on 10 lanes. $20 and free if you're a new shooter!
We hope to see you there!

In the afternoon:
Big announcement is that we will be testing what we will call 10 meter Silhouette! This match will start immediately following Field Target with a targeted start time of 1300, 1 p.m. Since this is Texas, shooters will be under the roof, in the shade!

Details are in flux, distances will be approx. 10 - 35 yards, with a 40 shot format. Standard little silhouette animals will be devastated but we will use heavy duty targets so people can use their 20 FPE Field Target guns if desired.

A variety of guns will be provided, and the event is free. See you on Saturday, August 9, 2025.

Can anybody I'd this thing

Looks just like the adapter that came with my UTG bipod.

Buying used rifles

I agree this site is a good place to buy a used rifle. Bought a Red Wolf from a frequent poster. Never met him but positive contacts throughout the process by email, PMs, and phone.

AoA is great for preowned guns. Very happy. And my local club is the best because I know the sellers and their guns.

Buying used can be a very good experience. Good luck and cheers.

Mike

Airforce  Taxen 457 tank question

Blue thread lock is okay. No heat required to remove. But I have seen red permanent loctite used. I have used blue on screws in high vibration locations. Especially back when i had break barrels. I also swap out the Allen hex heads for torx heads. Too easy for hex to strip out under stress. The quality of screws is sometimes less than optimal. Torx are significantly more reliable.
unfortunately, I used blue thread lock and its acting like red thread lock :(

N/A  Seen an affordable IZH 46M

Great deal IMHO with all the parts.
I still think the deal I got on a Rink gripped $600.00 98% 46M with all parts in the original box was a great deal. This one looks just as good a of deal for 450.00. Plus I paid it forward at my cost of shipping to some dude who wanted those red and black grips that came with mine.

Beeman  HW30s in 22cal is awsome

Charles, back in May I pre-ordered one in .20 cal, which will take ??? to be made and get to the USA. I hope it will be as good an experience as what you have found with your .177 units. So far, the Blue Streak is my favorite gun; it made me seek another .20 cal gun that doesn't need an external source of compressed air.

Someone on PCP forum asked me what I used.

@Ezana4CE , it’s a 6-48 Vector Continental. I used UTG rings initially but have since switched those out for FX adjustable because I ran out of elevation adjustment. I received the new replacement scope and it’s a lot better and certainly useable at 100Y. The glass quality is on par for the price point. It’s not as clear as my Sightron scope but the image is larger allowing me to see .30 holes at 100Y, which was my goal.
@igolfat8 Ok. You scared me for a minute. Must have been a QC thing.
