Tulsa Air Gun Club is now has a FB page

I understand some folks are anti FB. I get it. No need to explain it to me here. However, some don’t mind to communicate through that format of social media. We are hoping to expand and grow the sport of FT in the North Eastern Oklahoma area through as many social media channels as practical and we believe this one way of doing it. We will continue to share here on AGN all event news so don’t worry about having to join something you don’t want to. We’ll keep you up to speed here as well.
But if you are on FB, please follow and you can find us listed as Tulsa Air Gun Club in groups.
And by the way, we are now an official AAFTA club!!
If you are ever in the Tulsa area on the second Saturday of the month, PLEASE come out and shoot with us. Additional details can be found on the calendar page. Or just shoot me a PM. You will see from the pictures of match results, it’s a nicely wooded area with a great tree canopy which affords minimal wind conditions even on gusty days. So if you hate the wind or it hates you, know you scores will only get better here. We rely solely on match fees to fund the club. The host club only provides us a location to hold the matches and we have to pay rent for that.

The July match, we had a great turnout with shooter from Oklahoma City as well as Texas and Kansas (thank you for your support everyone !)
Ice cold bottled water was made available and chilled watermelon was served after the match. We will continue with the refreshments during the summer months and may do some other fun stuff in the fall months.
A great big THANK YOU! goes out to everyone who has worked, helped, shot, or even just stopped by to see what all the hubbub was all about. We can’t do it without your support.

FX  Streamline Regular leaks through vent hole

I'm perplexed. My FX Streamline .25 has been leak free and a tack driver for the six years since I bought it new. My only annoyance with this rifle has been the magazine design. On rare occasions it's failed to fully seat the last pellet then closed behind it so that the probe couldn't be used. The stupid owner (me) impatiently forced the magazine out which bent the tip of the probe beyond repair. Utah Air quickly filled my order for a replacement probe, which I installed without incident. The receiver functioned perfectly with the new probe installed. However, I had removed the barrel and the air cylinder in order to work on the receiver. In hindsight this was a big mistake.

Even though I never touched the factory regulator when I removed the air cylinder, it started to hiss and leak air rapidly out of the vent hole once I reattached the barrel and air cylinder to pressurize it. I have studied the Ernest Rowe Youtube videos on this regulator and subsequently replaced each of the seven o-rings that are part of the FX regulator. I used a caliper to make sure the reassembled regulator was set properly. However upon reassembly and pressurization the regulator still is hissing loudly and rapidly leaking out of the vent hole. I've taken it out and examined every component closely, such as the delrin nipple (no divot) and the proper distance of the shaft and washer stack placement. This is a frustrating experience. Any similar experiences with solutions would be welcomed.

As a postscript, I noticed that even though the regulator worked perfectly before I removed the air tube, the o-rings I replaced had all taken a set and were hardened. Yet the regulator functioned perfectly until I removed the air cylinder. I wish I hadn't. Very frustrating.

FX No Limit Rings

That is great. They look to be well made, especially for the price. I just ordered a set to try out. Thanks for the update, and for pointing them out in your earlier posts.
Anytime! I love quality, especially yeah, I don't think one being spoiled by it, but not everything that's quality is expensive. Every single pair of these rings I have bought have always worked right out the box. No need for anything. Never returned, always worked as it should, and it's always outperformed the seventy dollar rings that FX sells

Went out for rabbit got nothin but birds :-(

English house sparrows only the rest of them are natives, protected. I try tp shoot starlings, english sparrows, collared doves, pigeons and cowbirds. I know the cowbird is protected by the migratory bird act but I have a hard time with their child rearing habits.

Hollowpoint Skiving/Serration on Slugs

"Will it be okay" because what happens is that slugs with large hollow point are light and do not have the BC to go long distances like 80 + yards. So people expecting accuracy at such distances will be disappointed. We make custom dies and tooling as well but gentlemen we have to be realistic in the application. On the contrary a heavy slug with a small size torx head style hollow point will be equally effective because it carries more downrange energy as opposed to a light and large hollow point with a torx head style.
Okay I see what you're saying. The torx bits that I used didn't deform the exterior of the slug, and didn't change the ogive. So they SHOULD carry the same BC and accuracy. They are also not removing any material so they're even the same weight.

I know expert on scopes, but need your thoughts

I've had 3 of the CVLife 3-9x40 scopes but they were front AO. One was no where near a true 9x mag, more like 6.5

One would get the distortion around the outer edge of the lense at higher magnification. The last one is decent, but it's going off to a new owner with a rifle I just sold. At 50 bucks a pop, they're okay I guess. No different than a Pinty scope.

cheap targets

these are what I use with a piece of card stalk paper I buy by the sleeve. There is like 1000 colored dots the size of a dime. I use them for both air gunning in the yard and powder burners at the range.

That's what I use. I don't like black targets because you can't see your shots. White card stock is the best.

Diana  D75 T01 Rear Sight

5-10 years ago the model 75 TO1 sights would come up for sale at fair prices and all the time
not any more they are selling for 125.00 to 200.00 they are worth 100.00
and chuck is right about Egun for pricing and difficulty but one other thing the sight do not show up there either as much
okay then what do you do upgrade to a Model 100 diopter or the very rare model 82 good luck with that
you can go old Anschutz but their prices have gotten stupid
the rule i have is never buy a rifle that should have sight that doesn't have them and if so find what it will cost them and reduce the price and if it is now to high make an offer or walk away
i see people looking for sight on a normal rifle and target rifle and it is the same thing they are going to spend a lot of money to replace what is missing

i will check Egun later
so at Egun the seller selects shipping to just Germany or to the EU only or they might list international
so you find a sight for Germany only you are out of luck you can send an email but the chances of get one back and or changing there mind 0%
the EU seller could change his mind but the shipping will make your eyes water
now some use Pay Pal easy and fast otherwise you will be looking to transfer the money using say World remit

N/A  Notos vs pp750 vs aea vs jts ariacuda max or stander vs ava

What do yall think of the bsa r10 or daystate huntsman
Ive got a BSA R10 SE .22 and its flat out accurate and very consistently so.. it will do half inch groups at 50 if I do my part with either 15.89 gr/18.1 gr JSB.. Its a heavier gun with scope but very easy to shoot accurately. My FX Dreamline Classic .22 will do it also its just a light gun and a little less stable when shooting.

Accidentally slugged my barrel. What do I do with the data?

1. Buy a micrometer:

2. Slug the barrel from the breech:

3. Determine best performing slug at your preferred sight-in distance with specified groove diameter.

4. Sample slug at groove diameter, and one slug .001 above and below the groove diameter (preferred distance, then two sight-ins 10 or 20 yards apart) for a comprehensive test.

Airforce  Air Force Condor review, a case report in how "utilitarian" can be a positive.

Thank you for the great info. I too purchased a condor last fall (2024) for pretty much the same reason. It was on sale, and the simple design spoke to me. I know the design lends itself to an incredible amount of power. Since I purchased the gun in November, I havent done much shooting. I purchased the .22 with 24' barrel. Also purchased a .25 18" barrel. I am not a fan of adapters because they can wiggle. I have had both barrels threaded for 1/2 x 20. I also purchsed an additional condor valve, ring-loc, Huben regulator, and another tank. This way I can switch between a regulated gun and non-regulated (for hunting). I look forward to getting outside this spring and testing...and eventually hunting with it. I have been reading about the frame flex issue. I like the gun the way it is, but just purchased the tri-rail mount. I needed to purchase some different scope rings, so I got them both at the same time. We'll see.

Also, I look forward to reading more about your testing and outcomes.

Thanks.

Unfortunately, I sold the Condor a few months back. There was nothing wrong with it, I just walked into the gunroom one day and had three guns laying on tables and more in the gun cabinet and in hard cases and just got overwhelmed with having more than I can shoot. So I listed it and it sold fast.

Solid guns though. If I ever get to a point where I really really want to simplify, I could see myself going down to my USFT for target work, and a Condor for pesting. Those two specifically because they're both low fill pressure guns, and are pretty sippy on the air. Could sell my compressors if I thinned down the herd that much.
