FX  FX Barrel/Liner Problems - with picture

I bought this maverick newa few months ago. I am a retired 76 year old Veit Nam veteran. I shoot this gun daily bench rest style on my own 100 yard range. Just because it is my first post I don’t appreciate be calling a liar. I took time to take the pictures and try to tell my problem. I was hoping someone could tell me and help me figure out what was going on. This will probably be me last post here since you don’t seem to think I have problem and make fun of me.

It should be covered under warranty. Mistakes happen with any brand or owners . Worst case your out 110 bucks for a new liner . Some brands have $600 barrels and $100 magazines. It could be worse . Contact them I think it's Utah Air now ? You'll have a new liner in a couple day's.

I think the record for pellet jams is around 13 . Lol

Magazine use in WFTF

I don't know what the rule is, sorry, but whether a mag is a problem or not, I've found single loading slows me down and gives me a chance to breathe and concentrate. I tend to rush shots when it's quick and easy to load pellet after pellet through a magazine into a breech.
No doubt about it ... in competitive shooting where ultimate accuracy is needed .... SINGLE LOADING is preferred by most,

Nomad ll air compressor Stoped building air pressure

I have said this before. The most expensive aspect of air gunning is high pressure air (HPA). Far more than the cost of the guns or the ammo. This is an unwelcome message, but it is true nevertheless. These cheap compressors are a waste of money. Sooner or later if you stay in this sport, you will get a top of the line compressor and several carbon fiber bottles. In that light, it is less expensive to do it first, not after you wasted valuable cash on the cheap stuff. Buy once, cry once.

An experiment I would like to see

Unfortunately, in this case, your simple science is misguiding you. Boat tails produce destabilizing aerodynamic moments about the CG due to giving negative lift when yawed to the air flow, so you require higher twist rates for the same stability factor. Coupled with this is the fact that the boat tail also increases the boundary layer thickness, which will increase Magnus moments, leading to a reduction in dynamic stability.

As for drag, the largest single component of drag for a slug with a reasonably shaped nose is the base drag. It is a well proven fact that turbulent boundary layers at the base of a projectile reduce the base drag compared to that which is produced by a laminar boundary layer. The turbulent boundary layer does this by increasing the mixing of the air in the low pressure area behind the base, increasing base pressure and thus reducing base drag. So, while you may obtain a small reduction in aerodynamic skin friction drag by keeping a laminar boundary layer, you will create a much larger increase in base drag with a laminar boundary layer compared to the turbulent boundary layer. This is basic aerodynamics, as shown by the tests on sphere drag, amongst other things. Slugs and airgun projectile complicate things further by flying at relatively low Reynolds numbers, which can cause the complications above.

Brocock/BRK  My Bad Ass Brotherhood of BRKs…💥💥💥💥

Nice to see you joining the bullpup world . I was thinking of getting a .22 Ghost but decided to stick with my Mav . Your Ghost gets into magnum class power zones .22 cal 30+ fpe , imo . And I bet it shoots as well as you do . Looking forward to some long range pesting videos.
Thank you. Have to get use to the magazine so close to my face. Am not sure what direction this Ghost is taking, am currently sending CPHPs at ??? FPS with the PW on minimum.

This is how it arrived from AOA…

Microscope pictures of ZAN BR100 30 Cal 56 Grain Pellet and ZAN .30 Cal 45.5 Grain Slug

I'm guessing that the reshaping that happens when the air blows the skirt into the rifling cancels some of this out? The skirts are getting reshaped/swaged. It would be interesting to see them after being fired recovered from a water bucket or something

Microscope pictures of FX 30 Cal 50.2 Grain Pellet and JSB Hades Diabolo 30 Cal 44.75 Grain Pellet

Looking at a pellet with a microscope is good.
But you can't see the essentials.
The pellet has to rotate so that you can recognize the flyers.

What is being used to clamp the pellet in your video?

What Red Dot scope is your favorite and why.

Hello everyone,

Well after a lot of good information given to me here on the Forum ( thanks to all ) and a ton of searching and reading about so many DOT Scopes that are now available, here is what I purchased and the reasons why.

I really wanted the “Shake-Awake” function but could not find one that had all of the specifications that I also wanted.

1) Large Tube style Scope
2) A must have was the DOT Scope must offer both Red and Green Dot.
3) The “Dot “ no larger than a 2 MOA
4) Flip Up Lens Covers
5) A large Objective Lens
6) Excellent Eye Relief
7) Picatinny Mount ( so I can use it on various guns )

Not a top brand name and not expensive but from my initial inspection and first use this DOT Scope meets my requirements. The Scope was designed for high power PB’s, so it should do great on any of my .22 cal air guns.

After zeroing the Scope at 15-Feet and then out to 10-Meters, I set up and shot this full size drawing of a squirrel. That is 5 shots, and to me that equals to 5 dead tree rats 😁 .

Again thanks to everybody that took the time to offer their suggestions for a DOT Scope.

Air Arms  S510 xs .25 after market mags

Is there currently anyone making a 3d printed mag for the newer .25 AA S510 XS.. I know there used to be someone but can not find any currently being made.. my newly purchased used S510 .25 has eaten 2 breech o rings in approx 200-300 pellets and each time has been when gun has been tilted vertically working side lever, have read this is a known problem from at least 2019 and AA is supposed to be working on it. Have they fixed this issue with a new mag I'm not aware of. thanks for any info.
I'm now trying to remember to hold gun horizontally when cocking, hard to do when all other of your pcps do not have this issue..
