Airforce  Airforce texan ammo box interior dimensions for slugs end to end.

Yes, that foam looks pretty cool. I saw it says 2 slugs and it looks like the slugs are the biggest for picture and function. Those look about 450 gn pretty long slugs. The ones I'm using in my 45 cal carbine are 250gn @ 3/4" long each. If I had an exact measurement I would decide if I wanted to purchase. After tax and shipping the box is $37. For 4 slugs that would be good but for me if it's 2 slugs I'll just carry 4 in a muzzleloader reloader in my pocket. I'll give the foam a try if all else fails. Here's what the 250gn will bring down 30 to 65 yds

Daystate  Huntsman Huma Tuning

Ed,

Glad it settled down and is working so well. My Caiman problems were partially because it was so well machined and partially bad assembly, I think. Somebody used an abundance of silicone grease on the end of the regulator body where it mates to the plenum piece. That is the vent path but it doesn't work if you smear up the metal to metal interface with grease. But once that was fixed it still wouldn't vent properly until I removed a portion of one thread that was covering the vent hole with a diamond burr. If the threads had not been so well machined it would have worked fine, I think. It works fine now but my ES is usually more than 9 (but under 20). It's producing low 30s fpe on a 100 bar reg setting so I think the flow path must be very open. That does not tend to reduce ES or std deviation.

Jungle shooter, thank you very much for all your advice, very helpful. I don’t want to pay for basically a stolen product no matter how good it is.

Yes, I understand, I also would hate to use a program that was blatantly stolen from a gifted and very user oriented developer.

So, that eliminates ChairGun Elite (but not ChairGun Pro, an original Hawke product).

I have paid for Strelok Pro and therefore feel no remorse for using an APK file I found on the interwebs. As soon as the embargo against the developer is lifted, I will delete that file and use a regular downloaded version from an app store.

In fact, I hate subscription models with a passion, for apps and software.
But if Strelok would ever decide on a subscription, I would pay without hesitation. It's just so good. 👍🏼

Matthias

What would you do?

I suggest that after you do a thorough cleaning that you relube with GPL-205 Krytox.

Tough to judge real sound from a recording through my phone speaker. Have you tried the Decibel-x app for your phone so you can get Db readings?

Brocock/BRK  Brocock Atomic XR Handguard

Soon Bravo3d will be offering a Hand guard for the Brock Atomic XR with Mlok slots. It protects the Airtube from scratches and gives you some cool factor.
I took the design from the Umarex Notos Handgaurd I have on my website for sale and made some small changes so it could fit the Brocock Atomic.
I will be sending it to a member for fitting and testing. Once it is finalized it will be up for sale at www.bravo3d.com

Here are some teaser pics. One has a barrel band and one does not.
Has 6 Mlok slots so you can attach your flashlight and accessories.

If you have an airgun that you think should have one of these Handguards please message me and maybe I can make one for it.

Primary Arms SLx 4-14x44mm FFP IR, ARC-2 MOA

Today I shot from 10 yards and my Primary Arms 4-14x42 ARC-2 MOA FFP focuses down to 10 yards. The parallax knob will bottom out just below the 10 yard mark. So as far as the 10 yard minimum that is the standard for air gunners, this scope is good to go.

Here’s a quick 19 shots off a bucket using Trigger Sticks bipod at 10 yards.

Red Fox Squirrels

Please continue your reports. I may have educated a few squirrels lately. It was successful as I have not seen those squirrels back dining on my garden, walnut tree, oaks, garden hoses, flower bulbs, strawberries, ..... Blasted little fellows, but they do make some fine dining! Fresh cleaned, rolled in my secret marinade, and smoked to perfection. Even the old boars are great straight from the smoker, but one needs a large enough pipe ! ¡ ! Be Well, B.

Distance added by height of target

I think you’re making this harder than you need to. To begin, if it were me, pick a pellet and use only that pellet in that weight. Set up targets at chest height every 10 yards from your probable shortest range to longest. Shooting from a rest, zero your rifle at the middle range. Once that’s done shoot groups of three at each target. Make sure your pressure stays within a very limited but consistent pressure range and don’t change ANYTHING else. See where each group is going elevation-wise. Write everything down. If there is much wind come back another day. Now for the ‘interesting’ part. It sounds like you know your distance fairly close. Put four targets close to those distances. Groups of three not changing any adjustments. New targets up another 5 feet. Shoot again, up another 5 and shoot again. See which way your groups change at each height and write it down. Of course you’ve been keeping pressure consistent. When you’ve done all that go home and have a cool adult beverage. Wait until tomorrow and go to the actual target areas. Put up targets at whatever height and find your shooting point at the probable distance. Groups of three again. Now’s the time to make any elevation changes until you are on target. Shoot freehand, not on a rest. Write down where each round is hitting. Now you know what elevation changes you need from place to place. You can do all the math but until you actually shoot, you won’t know how close your gun is to where the math says it should be. BUT WAIT, there’s more. Try three or four different pellets with different weights. You may find one your gun likes best. Use that and go to work. Also, if you aren’t using a pcp, forget everything I said about consistent air pressure , it wouldn’t apply to a pumper or springer and so on. After you go through all this ask yourself if you still want to participate in this insanity. If so, seek counseling. Yeah I know, I’m being a smart a$$ but all this really will get you started. You can adjust to suit your needs. Have fun!,

Skout Barrel Collecting Lead

Call Scout and ask if they'll give you a break (cost wise) on buying a later, octagonal barrel.
After reading your original post, I bought a borescope, just to check the barrel on mine (bought about 3 weeks back). The "rifling" in mine is octagonal. Smooth and clean. Not quite a polished surface, but not far off.
And...octagonal barrels are known to be a little faster, and a little more accurate than standard rifling. No deep, sharp grooves...

Results  Luftgewehr Schutzen 25 - June results

Very interesting! Is that the 100-yard target that you are shooting at 25 yards?
Yes. Bull is 3/4” and after testing and different scaled sizes I found the 100yd was perfect for 25yds with open or dot sights. Same target will be used on the 50 and 100 for mostly scoped classes, although open sights or dot is always suggested at those distances!

Other  Big bore airgun valve dump???

Yeah I understand that but I'm trying to figure to get it to dump all the air for more power
Dumping all the air will not increase power any more than holding the valve open until projectile reaches the end of the barrel. The gun will get louder and recoil harder (due to muzzle blast) but the projectile will not go any faster.

Are you currently using a chronograph?

Results  DIFTA Match Report Sunday, June 9, 2024

Eight shooters turned out for a late spring match at DIFTA. This was a 72-shot match with an average difficulty of 29.92 T, with six targets > 40T, nine targets with 0.375”or 0.5” kill zones, and twelve targets at > 40 yards. The difficulty factor could arguably be increased by 0.25 for windy conditions, and by 0.25 for extreme darkness, because the tree canopy is now fully developed, and for some targets visibility was poor. Suffice to say that under the conditions when the match was held the average course rating increased from borderline moderate/hard to borderline hard/expert.

The match started out in the low 70s and climbed to the mid 70s by the end: very pleasant spring shooting weather with low humidity. This was offset by variable winds throughout the match, with perfect calm periods at the start of the match, quickly followed by gusts above 20 mph throughout most of the day. At times the wind was so strong it buffeted both shooters and pellets!

The match high score of 55/72 was shared by Greg White in Hunter Division and Mark Mayer in Open Division. The lower scores for the WFTF division reflect the much greater impact of wind for shooting at 12 ft/lb. Of note Mark Mayer scored 11/12 for the two forced position lanes but missed way too many shots in the free position lanes. Greg White suffered from slippage with a new set of sticks that had their debut at this match which held him back. Overall, the tight grouping of scores within Divisions speaks to the high skill of the shooters who competed.

As always many thanks to those who travel long distances to compete and keep our sport alive
