ou don't always need 500 shots from a single fill
Indeed. Though i must also admit that is is a thing i look very much at when looking at a new rifle, which are really stupid CUZ i always shoot connected to a 9 / 12 L bottle and so shot count are no issue.

Crosman  Can your Crosman 760 consistently shoot bottlecaps from 14 yards with bbs?

I would NEVER let anyone put BBs in my 760. It has only had lead pellets loaded singly. It will be that way until my kids get it when I die. Be Well, B.
What year is yours?

From the beginning I was BB gunner with mine. It hasn't had much more than 2 full tins of pellets through it in its life.

My Dad was career Air Force and we moved around frequently. There weren't many places to even buy pellets where we lived from '68 through '74. We & the 760 were in Greece for 3 years, NJ for a year, then Taiwan for 2 years (where local laws didn't allow me to bring it). These are the remaining pellets from a tin I think my Dad ordered through the base Rod & Gun club, circa 1969/'71. I think.

Once we were back in the US and I could buy pellets at KMART I shot some pellets in it, mostly the plastic flip top containers of Daisy and Crosman, and the remainder of my precious hoard of German ones (which finally ran out sometime around '78).

N/A  Bullpup Vs. Pistol

The values I have in Chairgun for my Prod and Avenger, conventional rifles, is 1.5 inches. I am not sure how closely I measured this but the chairgun results match my shooting results pretty well. I have refined my results for my 3 P35s and it is 2.65 inches. Again it agrees with shooting results. I was pretty careful when I measured my Caiman and I got 2.67 inches. I use Westhunter one piece bases on my bullpups to make it easy to swap scopes around and they control the height more than the bell of the scope getting too close to the shroud. So maybe I could get the scope a little closer with different mounts but the bullpups cannot get to 1.5 inches.

AirMaks Arms  Caiman X and CPHP's

@IKnowNutin, CPHPs are my go to plinking and sub 50 yards pesting pellets in “all” my BRKs…
Roger that, my Ranger does well with them on high TP and the Commander does if I back it down to TP setting 3. I can't remember what FPS those settings result in but it's enough to knock off a squirrel (y)

N/A  I forgot how deadly the Walther LGU could be

Back again. Couldn't leave it like that. I went back and shot two more groups bringing it to 11 total. Tossing the warmup, 10 groups with an average group size of 0.856 MOA. I'm pretty sure this is the only piston gun that I can confidently call a sub MOA springer and not feel like I'm stretching the term a little. The scary thing is that aside from the Rowan trigger, the internals are bone stock. Walther, if you read this, bring them back please 🙏

HW/Weihrauch  Leaving springers cocked.

Keep my HW90 (Piston) cocked and on safe. Ready for tree rats. With the piston, no worry on spring fatigue. No kids around, so no worry on them playing with a loaded air rifle.
I once left a Benjamin Trail NP “at the ready” for a few weeks, and never did get the opportunity for the pesting shot. I decided to take few paper shots with it, and the first try resulted in a muted, dull thud, and the pellet failed to discharge. I figured being an inexpensive model, the seals on the ram had failed and it was toast. However, in the name of science, I tried another firing cycle which then discharged as normal, and it’s been fine ever since. Can’t explain it. I realize the difference in quality level might make for an unfair apples-to-apples comparison, but I no longer trust gas rams any more than traditional springs to behave predictably when compressed for extended periods.

In search of perfect benchrest scores

Barrel barrel barrel.

My barrel count is 40+ right now. A couple have been exceptional, some have been good, most have been ok, a few have been junk, so typical bell curve that applies to just about everything.

The exceptional barrels are much less picky about what batch of pellets they're shooting.

I'm told that some guys are capable of making a bad barrel a good one, or making a good barrel an exceptional one. This barrel prep knowledge has to be extremely hard-earned, as I've spent a lot of money and a lot of time and still don't know why some are magic and some are stinkers. I just know that some ARE magic, and some ARE stinkers.

The magic ones don't require sorted pellets.

100 yd pcp bottle gun

My budget is 1000 $ . I have a airacuda max that shoots 3/4 inch groups at 70 yds with no wind . I would like to have a bottle pcp with that kind of accuracy out to 100 yds and like slugs also . I do prefer a conventional platform over the AR platform . I am doing my research but would like input from you guys . Thanks !
I have the tube model .25 avenge-X that is shooting 1/4” at 50 yards and around the 3/4” mark at 100 with the right pellets. I have not tuned for slugs yet, but I’ve seen others with great results.

Events  Fathers Day Field Target Shoot in Harrison Ohio - Rifle and Pistol!!

Rifle field target and pistol field target match is ready Sunday. I don’t have lots of pics. Was in the woods for eight hours today setting up. Jeff Swartz came right after work and help me get the courses finished. Thanks for helping me out. My knees were killing me by the time I got home. Steps hurt like hell. LOL Jeff and I got the dedicated pistol course setup and ready to shoot. I know it’s Father’s Day but if you come to shoot with us, we greatly appreciate it. Pistol course is really cool, and the rifle course is challenging. Brandon Michaud already told me that he has water for all the shooters and will be on ice in the coolers. Thank you for that Brandon. Lanes are all really clean, I weed trimmed them all down, and the shooting areas. Bring anything you keep you cool on Sunday. Hope to see you all there. @everyone
