Sampling slugs that are new to me.

Eventually I'll get all .308 Lee molds (around 10). You then buy 25 rounds of each to determine the winner. I hope one of them groups well for you.
I fired from 100 yards using 123gr HP as shown in the first picture, and from 120 meters with 145gr HP as seen in the second picture. As you can observe, the shots are very accurate and well-executed, grouped in threes.

Anyone shooting NSAs through FX STX superior 1:24 .25cals?

I've found great results between with STX Superior 1:24 at 125bar, about 3
3.3 turns in on the 1.5mm screw, 22 on the wheel, velocity between 921-933. The extreme is 12, but the SD is about 4.4 same hole accuracy at 50.

Using post 9/21 version Dreamline tac25/600 superior + plenum, huma reg, 1:24, 125bar, pw 22, 3.3 rotations of hs screw, getting 4 mags on 500cc 250bar fill from 250-150.

Need Advice On Taking Down Coyotes

@Jman4183 Ordinarily I'd PM you something like this, but I'm not sure you've been a member long enough to respond. This is not a detailed video explaining exactly what happened, but it happened and at a much closer range. I like how he follows up. I unsure about his backdrop. I see homes back there. Hard to tell what's going on with that, specifically what's between the yote and the houses.

Brocock/BRK  Folding stock adapter and other accesories for Atomic XR in .22

So I'm 15 fps less, should I tweak HS?
JTS 16.08g pellet: Most fpe and accuracy in my Brocock/Brk Atomic XR. I get another 1 or so fpe and 20 fps out of it than H&N Baracuda 15 which is 15.89g They seem a little cleaner than the H&N Baracuda 15 and usually with no skirt damage/deformation as I sometimes see with H&N Baracuda 15.

Griffin Airgun Ammo Sale 10% Throughout June 2024

Looks good to me. Free shipping on orders over $60. HLooks like he has some new .25 and .257 boattial slugs. Some other new offerings as well. Been a while since I ordered. He makes good stuff. Check him out if you have not.

How to Start With Slugs

My advice is to try some Nielsen slugs in a weight that is similar to what you are already shooting for pellets. For example, if you are tuned to shoot JSB 18.13g pellets at 880fps; try the 17.5g Nielsen. Slugs have more contact area so weight for weight they are almost certainly going to go slower with the same tune. They do usually like to go fast, but not always. FX liners seem to be on the tight side, so a 0.216" or 0.2165" diameter is a good place to start.

I shoot Hades and Nielsens out of several liners and different rifles with great hunting accuracy. I always make sure my setup is able to hold at least a golfball sized group well past the desired hunting range. I dont shoot paper for groups very often, as my FX rifles have all been way more accurate than I can hold.

If you want to dial in the smallest groups possible for paper punching or benchrest competition, slugs might drive you crazy. Most people never find a good match up, even after spending hundreds of dollars and hundreds of hours. But with a little ballistic understanding, and a lot of luck you can find an accurate combo....probably lol.

Crosmen 1377

Just got a shot to take out my pistol it's scoped and will out shoot a lot of air guns. At 35 yards, I can hit a pellet lid, all day long same at 40 yd, just happy that I have a good air gun and with the ammo thing going on, I can still shoot as long as I can pump the pistol. Great gun thanks all
Yes them Crosman 13XX airguns and pretty versatile and accurate. I use a 1300KT at 25 yards rested with a scope and can keep it within a dime all day long, and I'm no sniper. I'm sure in the hands of better marksman it can do much better 🎯.

Tuning  Is your pcp optimized?

I've been passionate about PCP air guns for four years now. There's still much to learn, especially regarding air pressure for optimal performance, considering the twist rate and barrel length for specific slugs or pellets. Previously, I filled my AEA Challenger Big 9 to 4500 psi, the recommended fill rate, then adjusted to 3800 psi—a ballpark figure I used for some time before realizing it wasn't optimal for air pressure, valve, and projectile interaction. Determined to find the right settings, I set up a chronograph and an inline regulator, starting with a 132gr slug at 3800 psi, which yielded velocities from 1010 to 966 fps over eight shots. However, with a twist rate of 1:24 and a 32-inch barrel, this wasn't the ideal pressure. The optimal velocity for that twist rate ranged between 880 and 950 fps for any slug or pellet. To achieve this, I reduced the psi to 2400 for a 132gr slug, resulting in 950 fps and 264.50 fpe, maximizing power and accuracy. It makes me wonder how many of us overuse air for our twist rates, and sharing this could help others optimize their PCP air gun performance as it did for me.

Source for O-Rings

Coming to this thread late.

For O-Rings, how do we know what NBR we may need for our PCPs? Is there one NBR rating (i.e. NBR 80) that will work for most PCP applications? I'm looking at getting a bunch of O-rings for the Huben GK1 just to stock up for future use. Thanks.
This Huben parts diagram/list should answer your questions @Ultralight
Hope it helps

Finally got my Arken Zulus

I had know idea the amount of information that was available for the Zulus. There is a ton of information and those post are much better than the actual user manual.
Thank you again for the link and helping for a much better understanding.

Non- Lead Ammo

My Condor will put unleaded pellets in one ragged hole at 25m (H&N FTT Green and Baracudas, GTOs, any caliber), but by 50 yards the best I've seen is an inch, and that is with .25. I'm playing around with NOE cast tin pellets (recycling all those unleaded pellets in my trap), but am still trying for consistently cast, and am not yet at consistently shot. They make .22 and .25 wadcutter molds. My test of the .25 was the cast pellets were inaccurate in all guns at all speeds. That mold was re-sold right here on the AGN (with full disclosure), thank you! Maybe it will work better casting lead. I haven't shot the .22 wadcutters yet.

Regarding price, I've seen .177s on sale at 2 to 3 cents a pellet (Midway, Daisy), and .22s at 5 cents.
yes buying direct from Daisy is best price but shipping i don't know , and i haven't seen any reviews .although i haven't looked yet

Air Venturi  Avenge X finally arrived

Got the .25 with .22 kit , some extra mags , and some .25 pellets as i have never had 25 before . Hit today , packaged well , no damage and all included that was suppose to be .

Wood is cheap n ugly , oiled it already to darken it , stock too wide up front , fitment is 3rd grade level . Shroud feels like tin foil , and all that is metal looks plastic . Threads on all are coarse , it holds like a rock , no consideration of off hand shooting . Not heavy but feels it , doesnt hold well . From 3 feet she looks sweet .

Gauges all over the place , could be cause fresh , wandering or just slow as Hell reg gauge .

Came set at 2800 psi on a 4100 psi fill .

Left it alone .

Cleaned and lubed it , mounted good scope . Fore end too wide for my Stinger , holds but not well .

Trigger is fine , 1/2 pound too heavy for precise work , but good for hunting n plinking , left it alone .

Action changed to left side . Smooth as can be , no pressure compared to my bolt guns , very slick . Mags work just fine , load easy with the big .25 pellets and my old eyes can actually see them and can feel them without looking , i like that .

Pellets feed smooth as i could want , lever locks down just right .Like the last shot lock out , good feature .

Sent 25 or so pellets out to nowhere , seasoning bore and getting trigger oull down . Sighted in scope . Was raining and nasty gloomy , could only shoot at 30 yards tonight , under cover of my pop up canopy .

Wont bore you with it all , but at tune it came with , which is hot , it threw the light pellets near 1100 fps and all over the map . 1 inch groups at 30 yards.

do not want to fool with rag or hammer until I've run a tin or two through it so I pulled some other weight pellets.

The JSB MKII 33.95 grainers were a thing of beauty . Fed like glass , nice brisk report , the correct sound , and literally stacked pellets on top of each other . Pellet flight was stable . Shot 4 5 shot one hole groups and some on a know your limits steel hanger , which it smacked !

Action is good nuff to fire a fast second or not move much on the bench when racked .

Was so nasty out chrono only got 2 shots , 844 and 843 with the 33.95 ers , about 53 fpe i think .

Dont know where hammer spring is , but reg at 2750 to 2800 when it finally settles. gage just has to be slow to respond because the shots are absolutely accurate and I can tell they're running the same speed..

so other than the way it looks and feels which I can change with a stock lift and a few other touches I think the gun is going to be a BAD ASS .

Love her action , way it feeds pellets , the safety out of my way , im lefty , and its future tuneability .

Could not stop shooting it tonight . Filled her up , the 33.95's, sat in drizzle at 50 yards in the dark with a bipod and
my scope illum on , lol , gun on shoulder . Light iff garage gave just nuff to see , she with ease , racked off the know your limits steel down to where i couldnt see the last 2 . The squirell reset as fast as i could rack a pellet . Was childs play at 50 even barely being able to see .

Think im gonna love this cheap ass lil 569 dollar gun

I have a killer 15 pound gun , now ill have a 35 and 55 pound companion to it, will cover all i hunt

I love mine! I didn’t mess with tuning much because it liked the JSB Hades and Diablo pellets out of the box. Similar results to yours. Ragged hole at 50 yards. I went with the tactical tube model to start out In 25.

Seneca/Sam Yang  Gen 2 CAP Dragon

Check out some of @Cheplicki videos. He reviewed one. Not sure which generation. I think he hunted deer with it as well. Don't recall the caliber.

Edit: his was a .357. here's a link to the deer hunt. https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/cap-arms-357-recluse-deer-hunt.1294149/
I appreciate the info. I’m asking, however, specifically about the CAP Dragon (.50 cal) gen 2. I don’t know anyone who owns this particular gun, so hoping someone who does can chime in with their experience. Thanks.

FX  Fx impact compact .25

I am shooting .25x700 variation of liners 100 meters BR rings. Tried for more then a year any slug over 10 K shots in between 37-41-44-46 gn and me back to 34 gn JSB MK1's. This up to 100 mM rings, again...
Also my view about replacing or upgrading the gun CF bottle - for the money I chose tehering with Huma externally adjustable Reg instead. In four years having an Impact version I never shoot it off hand so can't comment on those scenarios.

My .177 RTI Slugger is Back . . . ;)

From the barrels I have, it seems as though the CZs are usually black and the LWs are usually silver..both normally marked near the breach for caliber and brand. I say “normally” because I have a .25 23” mystery barrel that’s unmarked and black..sooo

Thanks for the reply. Looking forward to experimenting with the.177. 👍
