What are your favorite aspects of matches?

In your basic (club) weekly / monthly shoot, esp at an established club, It's always wise to remember demographics of participants... age, disabilities and even old bladders, etc... to some degree accommodating everyone and making things fairly accessible along a course is wise; esp if you want to grow membership and overall participation.

Then there is the flip side...

Transition away from your local shoot to participate in or "compete" and you suddenly encounter a diversity of course set ups AND more many advanced shooters who participate in a wide variety of events, locations, conditions.

Realistically, considering resources and land etc... it can be daunting to find a suitable location and then create the logistics to support it. I know this first hand as I'm a full 1 year into trying to create an FT location in an area where none exists... even beating the bushes to find new shooters is quite the challenge.

All said and done - for me - I enjoy the diversity of locations, terrain, targets, people, etc... I may suck overall as a shooter but always leave with a smile on my face when i was "challenged" or pushed to my limits. Too many gimmes and we're bored... too many tiny KZ's and we can be discouraged.

Bottom line: it is our expectations and thus our attitude(s) that makes or breaks the fun factor at any event. The people are always great and always helpful. But we have to keep our expectations inline with the resources available while, of course, working to improve everything associated with our hobby.

I drive 3 plus hours at least once a month to attend a formal/informal club shoot. Recently Baton Rouge has been doing some very interesting albeit challenging matches (hard as hell) at their club; not necessarily AAFTA style but VERY fun. Lots of variety and they let you try all different kinds of stuff. The course is in their flat area and moving from lane to lane is easy and the morning lighting makes ranging on most of the targets fairly easy. Of course, the 93 degree temp and 100 percent humidity at 8 a.m. will get your attention.

Hope you get to come shoot a match with us up here in New England sir!

220 Volt Yong Heng?

Also, the 110 volt cord that came on the compressor is a wierd size, 15 gauge, which is not sufficient for the compressor, let alone adding a 20 watt fan motor. I replaced my cord with a 14 gauge, high quality cord and soldered all the formally crimp on connectors. Wires to the motor appear to be cheap 14 gauge or 16 gauge. Never use an extension cord and plug it into a good circuit with a high quality 110 volt outlet. I installed one of the orange hospital grade outlets where I use the compressor, most people's outlets are worn out anyway. The compressor draws the most amperage of any 110 volt appliances made except a few 1875 watts heating appliances. My compressor runs noticeably faster, quieter and cooler now and I don't get thermal shutdowns like my brother's stock Youg Heng. Before I upgraded the cord and connectors, it seemed to pause for a second before actually starting and now it starts instantly with no hesitation. When you are pushing the limits of the 110 volt circuit, everything needs to be given the best wires and connections. Use a Flir One, $115 used on Amazon, to check for wiring issues and cooling system diagnostics. AND HAVE FUN DOING IT! The guns are not only part of the pcp hobby!

N/A  The low power pester part 2 with different desire

I had the same trepidation with the bottle against my face as you do but AirForce has used this design for a long time and I have never heard of any kind of failure or bodily injury.

As far as triggers there is no comparison. I have one of Derric’s Ghosts and the trigger is OK and the best it can be with the Ghost and Atomic design but it’s apples and oranges. The Vixen trigger is FAR superior.

Yes the Atomic is accurate and I am not dissing it at all but the Vixen is a notch above at least comparing the two Atomics I (owned) and now 2 Vixens I currently own.

Granted YMMV…
To your defense, I’ve owned many Leshiy 2’s which technically have the same thing, AND someone had one explode on them, so hey, I’m kind of being a hypocrite bringing it up.

Karma  Karma Red Panda...Extinct ??

No offense but I will take what Steve says. He is actually a HIGHLY knowledgeable and HIGHLY respected figure in the hobby and not some paid off *****. He’s a straight shooter.
@Motorhead , I very much believe you are correct. Not sure we will ever get a straight answer to that question but I would bet they use the same manufacturer. Maybe Karma demands better materials and QC from the manufacturer than AEA 🤷‍♂️
Good evening. I have been a PCP enthusiast for a little over 15 years and I have personally owned a number of different models and brands without any sponsorship or desire to make a video, YouTube at the time having no place. I do not in any way question the comments of other YouTubers. I simply share with you in my videos the factual experience of my experience with a new KRP 2025 coming out of the box. If you have watched my three videos and activated the subtitles, you have all of what I have experienced with this PCP and all in complete frankness and without filter. In view of this unfortunate experience, I have surveyed other French-Italian and Spanish users who had also received the same model two or three months ago and who had encountered exactly the same problems. Production in China and Karma's quality control on all of these models is unfortunately a disaster. I confirm to you after study and confirmation from the AEA manufacturers that the karma are assembled in the same factories as AEA. In all honesty I am the first disappointed by this situation and in view of all these videos of youtubers for whom all the rifles are good and who never issue any real criticism it does not please me. I have a few people who follow me in my returns, there is only for them I will never sell myself for a brand and wish to be transparent so that they are not disappointed in their passion for the PCP.

Louisiana Is Now Open to Hunting Deer with PCPs 2023-2024

@JCarlin2778 Did you create a post or thread about it? Did you post any photos? If so, can you drop a link please?
I did not post anything about hunting last year. I have not been a member long. I actually did not shoot anything with my dragonclaw. I bow hunt as well and took deer.

.20 Caliber Slugs available

(But not from a springer)
They're pretty impressive even as slow as 870-880, from the right barrel, but I don't think a springer is gonna get em that fast.....maybe an RX2/HW90 but it's gonna have to be hopped up and it'll be harsh.

Stacking Them High

@N2 Shooter, you broke that porkers’ heart…❤️💥🙈 You and your rig are simply devastating on the chucks, awesome kill shots, those 50 grain slugs just wreck them…🙏
The performance is fantastic! The only downside is my barrel needs more frequent cleanings, but that is a small price to pay for great terminal results.

Night Vision VS Thermal for hunting??

Something else to note about thermal scopes. One night I was in a tree stand overlooking a small pool by a culvert that went under a road. The hogs loved to wallow in the pool when it was hot, then rub the mud off on nearby trees. We had placed a feeder there and trail cameras revealed an abundance of hogs using the area. So while I'm waiting for the hogs to show up a bullfrog starts croaking in the pool. I looked and looked through my thermal scope but couldn't see him! Why? He's the same temperature as the water! No temperature difference for the thermal to pick up on. Weird, but makes sense if you think about it. You won't see cold blooded animals in a thermal, so gators, snakes, frogs etc. will go undetected.
I experienced this with a snake tonight. My dog was going nuts barking and I came out with my Burris BTH50 thermal hand scanner and a headlamp. I scanned and scanned and didn't see anything with my hand scanner, so I turned on the headlamp and my dog is going nuts sniffing the ground. Now I'm frustrated and fussing at the dog to show me what he is barking at. I was on a call and was advised to look at the ground for a snake. Lo and behold it was a coiled up copperhead. So after I got a good look at it in the light I tried viewing it through my thermal scanner and couldn't see anything, that is until I looked closer. What I found is that the snake was showing up black using the white hot setting. It was about 78ºF outside. I remembered someone mentioning this and thought I'd share the experience.

Gamo  Avoid the Gamo Evo

That shot like my Gamo Magnum used to. The autofeed mechanism was clipping pellets and velocities were all over the place. I tried three different magazines with the same results. Once I removed the magazine and feed mechanism however it started shooting pretty well.
Thanks Sawney!

Diana  Bandit fill probe leaks

I just got a Diana Bandit and the fill probe leaks. The first 2 times I filled it it was fine but the 3rd time once the pressure got up to about 1000 psi the outer most o-ring on the fill probe pushed part way out and leaked all the air. I replaced it with the o-rings that came with the gun but it still did the same thing. I was thinking of getting other o-rings. Has anyone else had this issue?? What size o-rings should I try??
The o-rings on the probe need to be greased with silicone grease to prevent that from happening. Also check for a sharp edge or burr at the fill port entrance. It doesn’t take a lot to damage those o-rings.

Issue with airforce airguns warranty.

I am wondering how has everyones experience with airforce airguns warranty repairs been? I recently sent my gun in due to the breach hanging on something internally and gouging it. My gun was 3 months old and had only been shot 3-4 times. It was in brand new condition when I sent it in. When I received it back it looked like my lower had been placed on a gun that had been dropped, scratched, and abused severely. I contacted Air Force, and they apologized. They sent me a brand new gun immediately! When I got the new gun I was going over it and realized that every screw on the entire gun was loose and one of them was stripped out. I tightened all the screws and going to figure out how to fix the stripped one. Has anyone else had any type of similar experience with Air Force air guns?

Group shape

And... as it happened it was a double post and my comment got derailed over there.........

Group shape

Based on your OP I assume you don't have the FX Impact variants that using liners instead of - a simple ordinary barrel, so I will try to translate my experience with my heavy modded Impact MK2.

Uhm, from where to start? The group shape...
Usually I do these barrel tuning from a bench shooting rings @ 100 meters, possibly in a calmest day I can catch. Gun mounted on a one piece rest to minimize the user errors.... lol how easy that sounds...
With the Impact barrel/liner combination we have an option to index the liners. I have couple liners that are more bent and some less (not visible with naked eye). When I rotate the liner CW (clockwise) for example by 15 minutes, shooting 5 shots groups and monitoring how the group "size" POI is rotating around the POA.
But not only the group is rotating but I have noticed the group shape is changing when the group rotates.
I chose the group = position - that is more horizontal shape and possibly closest to scope mechanical center. With a sharpy I mark the liner, so when in future removing for cleaning I can mount it back to that position.
So my choice is a more horizontal group shape. That gives me a higher odd for better score with side winds, but also higher risk with tail/front winds. I gamble this way :).

The other thing I need to add to your " >>> Regulator pressure, hammer spring tension, and pellet selection <<< " the Dwell timing... which on Impact we adjust with Valve spring tension how quickly to open the Valve and how long to keep it open. The ultimate goal with that is to have a higher burst of pressure to start accelerating the projectile but stop the air pulse inside the barrel/liner before reaches the muzzle.

I am not going to comment about "projectile" selection, based on my experience I think those not effecting the shape of the group...either works good groups - or not. But the barrel actually chose the pellets, so to find a good combination need a lot of air for disposal.
The barrel harmonics... again a long story.

I assume some other guys can chime in with non FX liners knowledge - how they do it?
