52mm

Here's one that isn't plastic.

I like it. Pricey though

Results  2024 National 50 Benchrest League Championship Results - NRA Whittington Center, Raton, NM, 8/24 & 8/25

Great shooting and looks like it was a great match!

And a huge scoring job - kudos! Though scorer's eyes likely no longer focus, is there a posting of results for air vs RF (apples to apples/ same match)?

Thanks

N/A  14-15fpe .22 Springer

I've been eyeing a cometa Fenix 400. Did you settle on a .177 or a .22?

It looks like a big step up from my Hatsans for everyday shooting. I wanted to get a Norica and try it out but all the talk is about the Cometa. It looks like a better fit and finish and a whole lot better stock.

How's the trigger on that rifle? The trigger is the only thing that keeps me buying Hatsans. If the Cometa has a decent trigger might just get me one.
I have both a Cometa and a "nice" Norica. I think most of the Noricas you can buy stateside are the cheaper models, but I have no experience with them. The Hawk might be the top of the line of what's available. If you order from some euro websites you can get the Storm or Marvic which have no plastic bits besides the trigger, and the trigger is 2 stage adjustable.

Also for anyone who might find this in a search later on, you can swap barrels / calibers on the Cometa 400 quite easily.

DNT ThermNight TNC225R on the Uragan .30

Honestly… I’m not sure. I’m not much of a “group” shooter. The group above at 75 yards was all in the same hole until I pulled that last shot a little high/right. The digital zoom isn’t real conducive to group shooting either.

I know it clobbers pest birds out past 100 yards, and if I miss it’s nearly always a wind issue.

Daystate  Alpha wolf slow first shot

Could it be because of a small creep in the regulator?

Its the same problem on many fx airguns.
The reg creeps 2-4bar after x period of time. When the hammer then hits the valve its 2-4 bar "harder" and does open that much - resulting in a fps drop. Next shot the valve havent got x period of time to creep and fps is spot on due to correct reg pressure

No luck today

I occasionally check a few of my local pawn shops for PBs and airguns. Gotten some great deals on PBs over the years, but I have never once seen any airgun in any of my pawn shops. A few times I have even asked the clerks about airguns and they look at me like I'm crazy. They only know about Walmart special BB guns. Like many people, they have no idea how capable airguns are these days, and I doubt they would even pay for one to sell. So consider yourselves lucky if you have a used market in any of your brick and mortar shops. Man, that would be awesome.

N/A  Way to test power of bb and pellet guns before you buy in Pawnshop, Estate Sale ect.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like 2 viable options. Also the pawn shop did let me shoot the airgun inside but would not let me shoot it outside. I think the ballistic putty in a bucket would be a more accepted safer option by the owner for firing an airgun in the store. However where is the cheapest place to buy clear ballistic gel say to put in a 1 gallon cylinder. All I could find was animal figures and rectangular blocks at very high prices. On the repair, I paid $160 plus shipping for a new spring and seals on a vintage Daisy 111 at Baker Airguns. Maybe cheaper options but no way am I doing that again. Will wait on a resealed model or one that shoots hard. I think you pay more for a separate reseal than paying for a reseal that has been done on the gun you are buying. Wish I was good with working on airguns but 2 botched jobs says otherwise.

Airgun Technologies  Uragan gen 1 thoughts from long time users?

Getting your hammer to quit trying to kill the valve helps. That’s why I discussed it in that other topic.
True that! The gun came tuned to 105 from Tony. (Got it from scott.t) It was damn consistent too, 5 shot string came up with 865,861,865,865,865 with the 15.89gr. But turned down to shoot them between 800 and 803 is where the magic happened. Shot count increased, noise reduced, and accuracy remained impeccable.

FX  Decline in slug quality

Notice you used the FX tag when making the thread. Maybe some elaboration? I tried a couple different weights of the new style FX .25 slugs this year. Both looked just fine but were hot garbage no matter what I tried out of both of my .25s. Chocked it up to neither rifle liked em and got added to the collection of others that didn't perform well enough to mess with further.

Diana  Diana 34 T01 Trigger Adjustments

I have two T01 guns. The reality is, as it is, you cannot make the stock T01 trigger (Mike's point noted, and established usage preferred) very light if you want to have a two-stage trigger pull. Adjusting the trigger so that it's a single stage trigger you can get it as light and crisp as any sporter trigger. My D34 trigger is like that, and so good I don't care that it's a single stage (and have never adjusted it).

That being said, you can substantially lower the two stage trigger pull as well as make it much smoother by stoning and polishing the machined sear bottom that faces the trigger adjusting screw tips. Doing that made my D52 two-stage trigger pull just perfect.

My 3622 with @OC_ printed Moderator

So today I spent some quality time with my Urban. And I removed the DFL Tanto and installed the OC_ printed moderator. I am really happy with how this little moderator cuts the noise with no effect on POI. Maybe because it is relatively short. Shooting CPHP at about 20 yards:

The Urban is an inheritently accurate little rifle and not ammo particular. I just do not abide ammo particular rifles. It will do 20+ shots at 26 fpe or 30+ shots at 22 fpe. It is also a loud rifle with a sharp crack without any moderator. My wife quickly told me to put "that" back on. With a moderator the rabbits and deer and birds go about their business as I shoot, without "that" they all scurry off to hide ;).

Other  Zoraki/webley alecto

Thanks Mike
I took my Palm self off today, Just fits in my hand better,, Thanks, I even pulled my P11 out and shoot a few rounds 1st springer I have shot in two years. Ha,
Anyone notice how tight the barrel is on the Zoraki 22 ?
I am not into pinpoint accuracy with my pistols just hit the can is all I ask,
