Tuning  HW30

If you have been lurking on this forum long enough it could be you. Depending on where you need to send it shipping a full rifle may be about the price of some stones and moly paste. If the rifle shoots well but seems rough it could be a fun project for the two of you. Tuning an HW30 is more about a nicer shot cycle unless the seals are shot. If it smokes a little you may just want to try tightening up the breech seal.
This^^^^ Looks like you live in Massachusetts, so John in PA is close to you and does outstanding work if you want someone to do it for you. Here's his contact info, give him a call and see what he says:
John Thomas aka John in PA, phone number (717) 873-5128

While I've never had him work on a rifle for me, Rick Willnecker at Precision Pellet is also very highly spoken of on the forums. Vortek dealer and installer and also lives near you in PA. His contact info:
Rick Willnecker at Precison Pellet, phone number (717) 382-1481

Like IanC said above, the tuner could also be you. The HW30 isn't a hard rifle to get apart and work on. A spring kit and piston seal from Vortek and spend an afternoon with your dad. Also plenty of members here that will happily answer any questions you might have along the way.

Air Venturi  New tune

I can get my Maverick ( 700 mm ) up to the speeds i like with a mere 60 - 70 Bar, but for some reason it shoot better with a 80 - 90 Bar pressure.
And trust me i have tried jumping thru all kinds of hoops to try and make the rifle perform at the lower pressures, but i just can not make it perform as well.

I tend to start with a low pressure and low hammer, and then increase hammer, and if that do not work i give it a little bit more pressure back the hammer all the way back and start all over.

I tend to jump pressure in 10 Bar segments, but i might get lower than that now i have a digital gauge for my regulated pressure.
My mav and wildcat BT neither work that way well. Whatever reg pressure I run if I tune the gun right up to nearly the max velocity it will produce with that reg pressure they shoot awesome. Extreme spread of 10 or less. Once I start to tune down from that spot the ES goes up to 20 fps rather quickly. Guess I get a little picky about ES maybe.

Other  first pcp need help deciding on what

My recommendation would be the notos as well to get you started place a wtb ad to sace a few bucks and get yourself the GX PUMP CS2 https://a.co/d/0946PszR and a scope I did the hand pump route for a while and you will enjoy it more if you have the ease of filling. I am also in NY so if you want to reach out in a PM we can chat not sure where in NY you are but willing to help if I can.
ill bookmark that one, a pump is definitely on my radar for the next purchase, but with basically what im considering the "entry cost" being at least a hand pump and a scope i had to go with the cheaper option to get a decent rifle at the moment. i live out near the great lakes so i may also have the option of a dive shop, which would allow the SCBA route

Damn Tactacam...does not have 240fps in 720

From the beginning I was told to get the Tactacam 5.0. Never tried the "Solo" but have heard complaints about them. Here, check this out.

Nice video, still looks like you recorded in 120 fps. I just watched a video on the 5.0 and it does look like the 5.0 can record in 240 fps...the newer solo xtreme said it can but actually can't. See if this 240 fps option is actually available on yours if you could and let me know. It's the last option on the bottom of the "Set Video Resolution"
If it can record in 240 fps I might have to upgrade.

BSA  Scorpion? Still available?

I have a Scorpion multi-shot and an R10. The Scorpion has a tube, the R10 a buddy bottle. Both are bolt action. No manometer on the Scorpion. Both are beautiful guns with nice walnut stocks. Both use the same magazines and the same Rowan single shot loader. Both are very accurate and I have the Huma Air Shrouds with integrated moderator (formerly Huub shrouds) on both rifles. Both rifles are about the same length and heft. My Scorpion looks similar to this one (from the Huma Air site) With that bull barrel look shroud.

N/A  What is a good budget lightweight PCP that wont pass through sheet metal?

Hello all,
I hope I am not asking too much in my title, but basically I am looking for a replacement for our old Gamo silent cat that is a bit over 5lbs. The intended use is to clear out pigeons in our back storage area which has sheet metal walls and roof. I am looking for a light weight pcp that my father can handle more comfortably than our silent cat and wont shoot holes through the wall. We have an air compressor on site so filling shouldn't be an issue.

So far I was looking at the Benjamin Marauder Air Pistol with the carbine stock attachment but I'm worried 22's may put holes through the metal compared to the 177's in our gamo. Any thoughts on this. Its also a bit high than I would like to spend and would be the top top of my budget at around 450, but if it fits at almost half the weight of the gamo I would seriously consider it. We shoot anywhere from 20-30 feet away usually.

Appreciate any insight and suggestions. Thanks!
I've used a notos that's tuned to 11 ftlbs and a prod about 14 ft lbs they both love JTS wad cutters for close range action you have to stay at least 10 yards from the tin otherwise they will zing right threw

Credoza as an option

Now given that I have little discipline regarding Airgun purchases, much to the delight of certain vendors! I have seen this payment option at several vendors sites. I’m familiar with affirm at PA. Also PayPal credit. No issues with either. Terms are clear. I can’t complain on either one, I looked up reviews of credoza, and , well, opinions vary greatly, depending on who reviews them. What’s the actual story with this outfit? Are they user friendly, or an evasive, interest trapping outfit? Anyone that has used them, please elaborate on your experience, many thanks!

CameraLand deal on Hawke Frontier

Heads-up, Camera Land has Hawke Frontier 3-15X44 1" tube on sale for $349. I just received mine and it is a fantastic scope. I put it on my super accurate Brck Sniper .22 and it works like a charm. VERY clear, great lighted reticle, crisp turrets, very bright. No downsides I can see. Eye box is good, It ranks right up there even with or slightly ahead of my Athlon Midas Tac 4-16X and is lighter and illuminated, so it beats the Athlon.
This is the best line Hawke offers and it shows. I didn't have time to do a full tracking test, but it only took a couple shots to zero, (once I remembered to turn it to 10X which is the calibrated range for the reticle). I really like the Midas Tac, but would trade it for another Frontier without hesitation.
I have the Hawke Frontier Hawke Frontier 34 FFP 5-30×56 Rifle Scope that im trying to sell on ebay. Bu think I might just keep it

Looking to buy an inexpensive pcp to replace my breaker for squirrel hunting

Notos
Stormrider
Benjamin discovery(if you don't mind single shot and can find a good one)
Gamo urban

All of these are super easy to hand pump. I have a spare hand pump for if/when the compressor breaks, and some guns that are hand pump friendly.

If the comp goes down, I won't be filling my bottle guns until it's fixed or replaces.

@Joedirt199 you're crazy to have tried hand pumping that jumbo valve to try and seat it lol. Surprised the hand pump wasn't the only one having a stroke!

Umarex  Umarex M3A1 Grease BB Gun Disassembly/repair of the CO2 Magazine

I finally found the Umarex exploded parts diagram for the M1A1 (bought a new computer Dell G15 5530); anyway below is a PDF of the diagram 8X14 landscape view. I know that I promised some time ago but I have many files and organizing them took some time. And with security, folders, security appliance's ... well below is the file.
Promise Kept.

FX  Newbie here-just purchased my first air rifle: Fx Panthera Hunter Compact .25 cal

This is what FX claims . 6,35 (.25) 45 shots with 25.39gr pellet at 880 fps . I would get a chrony and tune it to 880 fps if you want more shots. It would seem like the factory setting would be at 880 fps. I hope FX starts test firing their airguns before shipping .

If you buy from the smaller shops they will check your airgun out test fire it or tune them to your preference . And print you out a short string.

JTS  How about a AIRACUDA Standard ... Maximized !!!

What a beautiful expression of creativity and technical expertise. There are few things in life more satisfying than building something beautiful and wonderful with your own hands and ideas, seeing past the average and mundane, with a vision of excellence brought to life.

Bravo

Feinwerk

Simple question that ballistic apps can't answer -- I must be missing something.

recent chrony session showed a 50fps increase over the lst 6 weeks or so.... dont nknow why...
so I can speak to this a little better.....

comparing the "old" numbers to the most recent ones..... its really only at the extrreme ranges 10, 11, 12 yards. and 45 -55 that had any changes in hold, even then it was small.

so it does matter, but not much. Im only reaching out to 55 yards.

Steyr  Steyr LP50

My Trajectron was Adapter $23.99 + Shipping $17.11 = $41.10 total from India to Hawaii.
Not that bad I guess, all things considered.

Huma seems the only place to go if you need one for your LP50.
I checked now, I paid €33.0 for shipping from India to Norway. The shipping was fast though, the adapter arrived in 3 or 4 days.

Large cannister filters with small compressors. My experience so far.

Looks great, simple, and economical.
A small filter, BEFORE your main filter, should make it easy and economical to preserve and maintain the condition of the main filter.
Have you considered a one-way valve, that would allow you to store the pre-charged air in the main filter, even after your rifle is disconnected?
A one way valve would complicate your simple set up, however, the valve would also prevent having to fill up the main filter, everytime you use it.
Just a thought!
How about a diagram. please?
Thanks @Airgun Al
