Rattlesnake Head Shot slo mo...threat eliminated

I give no rattlesnake quarter anywhere I am going to be running my bird dogs or my grandkids may be playing.
Other than that they get a pass. In your situation you did the right thing. I think running into a rattler would be the last thing on my mind at an archery range

FX  I hate the fx impact.

A brand new FX, should have a included 36 month warranty.
Is dropping it off at the nearest authorized FX repair facility, a viable option?
If not, you could remove the action/block, and ship it to a authorized FX repair facility.

If I were determined to do this on my own, I would certainly replace ALL the o-rings, while inside.
I would also use genuine FX o-rings, to insure your getting the correct dimensions, as the tight factory tolerences, can be unforgiving.

Power out

We have had starlings land on those twice on our dairy and blow the fuses. They sounded like a shotgun going off and sure enough they were fried up like that squirrel
20+ years ago I saw one of those big condensers blow up. Blew the top of the pole off and started it on fire. I was 100 yds. away. Wouldn’t want to be any closer. Crow

Barrel Length, the seldomly understood calculus

The stock plenum volume on an Evol is 37cc, if that helps. I never measured the ports.

So 37cc + 46cc with his extension for 83ccs? Unless its a 37cc with 6 cc extension making for 46cc which makes less sense haha. That information helps, having one piece of the data helps extrapolate the other.

I did some tinkering just now on my spread sheet, woke up at 4:30am and a light bulb clicked to help me refine the only number I have to fudge with on my spread sheet, which is barrel volume / distance that is considered 'effective' or rather the distance at which the pellet would be in the barrel during valve closure, and adding more air contributes no meaningful energy. Prior to this I used an inferior method that required some guess work on my end, well, no more...

18" barrel with 50.1 gr (1 fps off :( I blame friction! Lol)

Cool beans! Thanks for the data @Airgun-hobbyist ...now my spreadsheet estimates barrel length changes far more accurately with my update! Teamwork makes the dreamwork!

Hamster for Marauder?

Here is mine. under $50, removable and works like a charm. Center of bore to bottom of hamster is 5 1/4". A scrap pcs of 3/4 walnut, a Ruger 10/22 Weaver/ dovetail scope mount, BKL med height 30mm rings. cut the hamster ends about 30 degree to match the fore arm angle and the Challenger trigger guard for asthetics, my 1'st pc of walnut was smaller and square.View attachment 496932View attachment 496934View attachment 496935

No, there is no Woodstock for that gun. But the last thing we want to do is put those Chinese Woodstocks on those guns.

Theoben  Beeman Crow Mag / Theoben Eliminator Ser. # Location

I’ve only seen one Crow Mag in my life. It was many years ago at a gun shop and I thought it was the most beautiful air rifle I’d ever seen. Magnificent blueing and wood. That was during the years of break barrels and beech stocks were about all there was to choose from

Labor Day Sales 2024

Something is up with a 20% on Pantheras. I suspect a new version shortly. Or they are selling horribly which I don’t think is the case.

Mike
I don’t know. I think they were purpose built PRS rifles, which is a small segment and wasn’t meant to be super popular all around. But then they released the DRS Pro which seems to be even better for the PRS guys used to the MDT chassis. So to me, the Panthera becomes less perfect for those guys. That being said, the Dynamic block introduced with the Panthera was updated to include rifles closer to what others would want in the Dynamic and King, so the Panthera variant is less popular all around.

N/A  Whats your most consistently accurate airgun?

I like boring when it comes to pcp air rifles!
I just got from AOA a used Brocock Bantam Hi-Lite 22 that's unregulated but has the slingshot hammer system which is amazing along with the Lothar Walther barrel! It shoots like a laser and everytime i get it out to shoot its exactly in the same hole and doesn't need resighting. I've never had this experience with an air rifle being so rock solid and reliable before so I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Now if i could just find some used old style magazines that would be great as it only came with one.
