Awesome range! I have certain birds that hang out sometimes on top of my target box as I shoot....I wouldn't trust me..

It was part of the deal when I was testing barrels and rifles for Robert - AoA owner. My Delta is one of the first two that hit the USA. Had the other one briefly but it had a software glitch. Not sure where it went. How did you get a factory level version???? Would love to know what is different between that and the version they make publicly available.
I really like both of these—definitely two of my favorites. The Scout has a bit more bark to it and really benefits from a moderator to bring it down closer to the Notos in terms of noise. The Notos is quieter and more backyard-friendly, but it doesn’t quite match the Scout’s overall capability. That said, the Notos is noticeably lighter and even more compact, while both are easy to handle. I have them both in .22, getting about 20–25 good shots per fill with the Notos and around 35 with the Scout before accuracy starts to drop off.Hey all, been lurking for a while here and [I think] I am ready to start dropping cash into this alleged money pit.
I’ve had a cheap .177 springer in the past that was silly quiet. Could hunt the backyard all day and you only knew I was there when a stray pellet whacked wood. I picked up a “gamo gen3i swarm whisper fusion 10x” ~2 months ago and right off the bat, that sucker was LOUD. (I know I know, how could be such a fool and waste my money on Gamo?? Thankfully Bass Pro has a great return policy).
I’m looking to upgrade into the PCP world (already bought a cheap compressor from others recommendations).
Sound: by far the biggest concern for me. I’d prefer to have the neighbors have no clue I’m out there.
Range: realistically fairly close but I do appreciate flexibility in case I go hunting in the woods in the future.
Price: All told, I’m looking to spend under $600 between gun, scope, and other pertinent accessories.
I’ve narrowed it down to the Umarex Notos and the Stoeger Scout.
- Stoeger Scout: leaning towards this as it looks like it’ll pack more of a punch but it seems it’s loud out of the box. I have limited experience with AR builds so I’m not too keen on going to town with modifying off the bat. I’ve seen some thoughts of putting a moderator on but I cant make heads or tails of which to actually pick…
- Notos seems like a great fit but I’ve seen quite a few concerns about the small tank. I know I’ve heard “don’t get overly fixated on how much power they can pack” but hey, I’m human afterall
Any advice appreciated!
Thanks. I'll likely be ordering the rifle this week and will be getting the programmer with it.
Ya, mine is a very early release 5-20 lrf when arken was attempting to handle it.Very funny you mention the zulus... I have had my eye on DNT for quite a while. I have a Rix L6 and a nocpix SLim l35 that I really like for thermaling. But I have really been wanting to try the day/night digital rigs. The onboard ballistics seems like a game changer. MY L6 has it but the LRF isnt integrated and is rather blulky and annoying with the side mount. I almost bought a thermnight 335 last week but had bought the Huben instead. Almost bought the Zulus yesterday but trying to decide if i want the 3-12 or 5-20. Almost certain on the 5-20. Yours is the 5 -20?
SoonWill they be available in .25 and 30 possibly?
out of round ... noBut will it remove the egginess I've measured?

Not my point. Faster twist allows stabilization of longer, higher BC slugs. You may have optimized for a pellet twist (which is what the market demands) but you haven't found the highest BC for the platform.A 1:16 barrel is all that is needed to stabilize these slugs at the velocities we are pushing them. The rounded nose ogive profile is a scientifically proven subsonic shape outside of the airgun industry and achieves higher levels of precision and ballistic performance. The pointer the nose, the more susceptible the projectile is to instability, even with the slightest non-concentric seating of the slug in the barrel. I imagine it like this..... When your driving down the road, stick you hand out flat like a wing out the of the window slighlty rotating it in the wind. The wind grabs it and pushes it around pretty easily. Now ball your hand into a fist and do the same thing. The pressure of the wind doesn't have as much effect with the more rounded shape. The rounded nose gives us a bit of a buffer of stability in spin without a loss of ballistic coefficient in subsonic velocities.
Gopher guts splattered as far as the eye can seeWell i guess then them destroyers will wallop them good..
I’m still waiting to hear back about a .177 Skout with an improved magazine and single shot loader. Crickets now for a long time? What’s up?Darryl is our AWESOME sales guy. If you call you can hear about our call only special!
