Ibs 50 yards targets

Some pellets, even the same weight like different speeds. While this pellet may shoot good at 890fps,another may not. I just so happen to find a good speed for fx pellets, even when it's windy, they cut right Thur it like a slug, hardly much dirft,at a faster speed using a faster twist liner. They don't start their speed curve till after 100 yards. I shot last nite. If I posted the target, some would say it's not true. I'm gonna see if I can get off work this weekend to go watch PAc. They do allow people to watch or do I have to be registered for that also?

Huben  Wondering if I can fill a Huben GK1 SHORTY with a 12 volt pcp 4500 psi clunker compressor to 5000psi.. Im having a hard time finding a 5k compressor

@Pachangibiri1 I can't say. What I can say is that the member that created the linked thread is reputable and credible. He articulates his size in post #1, also read post #13.
Got me confused. I’m a 65 yr old man that weighs 135lbs when wet!!! I ain’t no Superman.

Other  Here's a theory that I've developed. Hoping for confirmation...

Ok there's a few things to consider a piston gun "warm up" period. There's actually alot but I'll try to keep this to the basics.

If a gun needs to cycle a few times to loosen up the lubricant it probably either has too much and or the wrong lubricant. Piston guns need very little lubricant. Unless your shooting in freezing weather lubrication should not make a difference.

Piston seals will change dimensions with heat. They typically become larger, thus tighter and slower. There's heat that comes from air compression. There's a flash of heat in each cycle hot enough to ignite most lubricants. This heat flash only last milliseconds and doesn't last long enough to normally raise the overall gun temps. Any slight amouts of conducted heat is easily radiated away by the metal compression tube and piston under normal conditions.

Still its pretty common for piston guns to settle down a 10 fps in the first few shots. I believe this is more the result of exercising the seal back to full size from air pressure.

However during prolonged use compression heat doesn't completely dissipate as well and the gun will some times slow even more. You'll see POI shift and groups open up. Its because the seal becomes tight to the bore and loose on the piston anvil. The number of shots it takes to see this depend on the rifle, rate of fire and ambient temperature. During cooler weather you may never experience this.

However in hot sunny conditions a black steel tube gets hot enough on its own that it can't dissipate the compression heat well. After extended use you'll be able to feel the compression end of the tube is actually hotter than the rest of the gun. I've experienced >40fps losses and had groups turn to complete garbage. Put the gun in the shade a half hour and it goes back to shooting normally.

Not all piston guns experience this to the same extremes because not all piston guns use the same seal design. The Weihrauchs I love so much are probably the most temperature temperamental because their piston seal is a solid cap that spans the full diameter of the bore. This causes more thermal expansion than other designs. Hollow piston seal designs like some Dianas and AA are far less suseptible to heat issues.

Vulcan 3 High Power..

Maybe they will get the new 30 cal mags out soon. A little report on the gun got the vulcan 3 hp 30 cal from Talon tunes gun was tuned to 980 fps with 62.5 Avs slugs was surprized by how good it shot JSB hades pellets 9 shot mag at 50 yds was nickel size and 61 gr AVS was less than a dime. My chrono was messing up but the Jsb hades pellets where doing 1098 fps
Put a 28mm wika gauge on it and while it was degassed i turned the reg up 1/2 turn velocity was 1052 avg over a magazine speed started dropping around 215 bar. Refilled the gun to 300 bar and velocity was only 900 fps until i shot down to around 270 bar then velocity jumped to 1050 fps so i may need to back down reg a little bit

Noob Question Incoming....

Please forgive my ignorance, I have never seen optics like the one I just saw and I honestly didn't even know the technology was available..? So, I just watched a video where the shooter was using an optic made by ATN Corp. and.... I mean, I'm still speechless. I know, it's embarassing... I feel so old rn. But he shot a group and then (I'm guessing here) put it into like a zeroing mode, which then allowed him to move a secondary X-hair to the intended target, hit "Enter" (or something akin) and VIOLA! Zeroed. Needless to say I'm immediately on the hunt to find one, only to realize these things are way out of my tax bracket. So, my question to the fine folks here at AGN Forums, is:

1) Is there any other manufacturers that make an optic with a similar zeroing system?
2) If so, do any of them offer up said optics for less than $200-300?
3) Is there a similar zeroing system on an optic that does NOT include night-vision? (I'm thinking the NV adds a significant amount to the cost and rn I just don't need it)

Thank you all in advance. And again, apologies for noob questions.
NO apologies needed for noob questions. that is how you learn . please forgive those that complain , they have forgotten they were noob's once also.

FWB  FWB 100 trigger adjustment

well as a trigger nerd i will say that the trigger is complicated and if the screws are frozen and can't be turned than a new set of problems are at hand i screen shot the trigger assembly to enlarge it
question how the trigger feels to your liking
i lot of time the last owner has done all the heavy lifting and set it up, in what i call good enough
this type of trigger will make changes at a very slow rate and it is like you are at the eye doctor as he flips the lens back and forth
my point is there a perfect or is the good enough okay
i have been there and told myself put the screwdrivers away and shoot the damn gun
so lets take a look
1 and 2 are self explanatory
5 should be close as the trigger over travel stop
11 screwed in would put pressure on the sear and make the trigger have more weight out is lighter
9 i have no clue what it does
and that leaves 3-4-10
i am guessing 3 screwed out will lighten the trigger
and 4 is push the sear up
and 10 i am not sure

never had the pistol and i have to use some logic as to what does what and if i am wrong i wrong
one thing as you know is work one screw at a time and if you move them write down what you have done because where you are at might be where you would always end up
make sure you have good tools that fit the screws or hex and good luck i have done what i can on this one

N/A  .22 Cal Custom PP800 Pistol

ThomasT , the Jumbo RS 13.43gr are doing OK for me . Glad I have some pics to remember what pellets I was using. Lol I can get around one inch 5 shot groups with CPHPs at 20y.

Are you using Hades ? I have some but haven't tested them for accuracy yet in the pistol. Oops is see you were using Jumbos .

I found a target like yours from 6 yards , so close to your distance, and using a reddot. Yours looks much better but I think it was my first try . I'll blame the pistol format . Lol That target is not easy to shoot at a greater distance with a dot . Great shooting btw .

I tried a string today. First time since turning the power down. Your strings have a better SDs and ES for sure. My chronograph missed 3 and I threw the last one under 550fps out . So around 30 shots if a larger ES is acceptable. That's from 1800-800 bar a little under the 200b fill. Nice job on your low power tunes and great information.

Hello @Headshots

I have shot some of the 13gr along with several others and they shot OK.

Yep a Red Dot Scope covers up the Bulls Eye on most paper targets but still fun to shoot at 😁

Try shooting this Red Dot Scope Target, I designed it just for Dot Scopes.

What driveway dinger?

That's the same one I have. Never tried it with a transformer. Haven't had any issues with it talking to the base, either, with it placed in a metal workshop.
I can't remember what the recommended height for the xmitter is, but I had to do a little finagling with it to work. It wouldn't pick up a family of raccoons at 20ish feet. I had to raise it up a little higher and mount it tipped back before it would trip. The larger the target, the better it did. I did notice it had a somewhat slow response time.
Most people seem to put it pretty close to the target zone when chasing rats due to their small size.

Western Airguns  All Things Western Rattler 357 & 45 - Master Thread

Here's some thoughts as to some swaged slug experiments with the 45 Long Strike...

The slug's were made from re-sizing different manufacturer's slugs that ended up weighing around 285 grains, are hollow points with a deep dimple in the back about .890" long, traveling 760-765 fps.

What I found interesting is the slug's lead density and slight weight differences between slug manufacturer's seems to matter as to the group size, even with slugs being within a few grains of each other (probably due to things like barrel leading, how hold sensitive the auto-loader is, and probably my own "errors"). I kept the groups all between 1 moa and 2 moa for the most part at the varous long range yardages. Because I have the power wheel maxed out for 6 + consistent shots with 335 grain, 1" slugs and didn't adjust it, it seems the excess air may blow around these lighter dimpled slugs some.

I did manage a single 1/2 moa 5-shot group out at 175 yards, but the rest of the goups were not worthy of a picture so I didn't take a picture of that one good group.

New guy question.

Filling a large tank is one thing, topping it off is whole nuther dealio.
I have had a Shoebox Booster/Compressor for about 10 years and while there is maintenance at specifically given intervals, it in general lasts a long time. Some say that it's too slow....well, it IS if you're FILLING a large tank.
However, if you're TOPPING OFF a large tank, say from 3,800 to 4,300PSI, it takes about 35 minutes and allows the Box to run a minimal amount of time in doing so.
Using the Box minimally instead of FILLING a tank (or a larger variance than the above), I find that it lasts much longer and is gentler on the equipment. Only filling to 4,300 instead of the 4,500 mark also allows less stress on the machine. I would imagine that this tact should also be something that ALL compressors would benefit from (?).
This has been my experience anyway.
YMMV

Airforce  Quietest moderator

I know it's not the popular choice, but TKO moderators will make you what you're looking for I'm pretty sure and they are darn quiet. I have several moderators, 0db, DonnyFL, etc, and the TKO is the quietest of all. I know it sounds crazy, as the TKO cost less than half the cost of the others, but it sure works!
Do you have their info and have you tried any of theirs
