I use a horse mat screwed to a wood frame @ 45 degree angle , quietly deflects spent pellets down . mine is over a pile of sand to catch the lead.

Or if not a pic of your setup, then maybe a pic of a target you've shot at a particular distance.
Wildcats are fairly tall and light guns and not easy to get level and hold steady. Are you using any anti-cant device?

Recently I've been getting back into 3D printing so I decided to make a scope mount for my phone mostly as a design exercise.




It works admirably for having no major design revisions. Only problems so far is attaching the tube to the scope in a perfectly square and level way which is why the footage has a slight cant to it.

Yeah, I was just hinting to anybody that sees this in the future In the US it seems easier to find if you search it as a "50/50 Beamsplitter"

I used to hunt deer with homemade bows. One year I injured my shoulder and had to use an Excalibur Exocet crossbow, something like that may be an option for you.

Some of the modern crossbows are extremely effective and may be worth looking at.

I don't think carbon fiber goes white when scratched, but the epoxy / laminate layer probably does, meaning that it is more likely the scratches depth hasn't reached the critical layers withholding HPA inside the bottle.

I cut some old flannel bedsheets my wife wants to throw away into like 10x10 pieces and use Ballistol for cleaning outside. For the inside of the barrel I use the same disposable small patches that I use for firearms. But I really don't need to clean inside barrels as often as firearms, if ever .

I have the M17. It’s fun. Trigger could stand some improvement. It’s just a 7 yard gun for entertainment. It’s neat that the slide cycles and is semi auto. You get what you pay for, it was $90+-.
My Diana CO2 is definitely better but is also bolt action single shot, definitely more accurate.

You have a lot of great advice here to which I can only agree. My experience with pointed pellets (other than predators) has
generally, been negative. They look effective but have not been very accurate. Predators have frequently been very accurate (and rather expen$ive).

You can up your game with the one shot groups if you have the room. But it’s not necessary if it’s out of the intended use of the gun. For years, once I get a gun dialed, I will test it for weeks or even months. There has to be either a distance or a timeframe when the gun will finally let me down. I’ve never done it with a pellet gun but all my slug guns must pass the test. Or at the very least I will find out the guns limitations. Then go from there.

I start at 50 yards. After a week and a tiny little group appearing at 50, I move to 75 yards. After one shot a day or every other day and another little group, I move to 100. If things get a little weird once I’m out there at 100, 115 or 135 yards, I might move the target back in 10 yards at a time to see if I can pinpoint when the gun or me went off the rails. It’s a fun way to finalize a gun and there are not tons of slugs and cleaning regimens involved.

The skunk gun I mentioned is beyond 150 yards solid. But I have another one that I don’t sweat a true cold shot at 135. That’s where I kinda stopped my testing because I don’t have a need for a longer cold shot with that gun. Same with my .22. I’m currently and casually testing a .30. I’ve done plenty of shooting out to 200 yards but now it’s time to see how the gun behaves without foreplay. Lots of guns do great once you get their juices flowing but stink otherwise. They can go back to being a plinking pellet gun as far as I’m concerned.

Great to see the Desoto Club still shooting there in Fl. Do you still go out for lunch after the match? We certainly enjoyed ourselves every time we shot there. Excellent shooting there Bill. Steve of AEAC did a video and using his data I calculate a BC of 0.043:


MV = 894fps
Range = 50y
IV = 760fps
➠ BC = c. 0.043

12 gram adapters can send "grinding fines" from piercing down stream. That's why the crosman 600 had a screen and filter before the valve, can't remember the filter material but definitely remember the screen. In the beginnings of paintball that was the number one thing screwing up the cup seals (exhaust valve pin seal in the firing valve). They can certainly damage or pollute a filling check valve. Unfortunately, I've never been to the New York show and it's too short notice to schedule.

Shooting in that field is always an adventure. I always get bit by some unseen breeze coming from the left behind Ron's house. Sunday was no exception!

This is not an expensive item at $20.00, but it's junk none-the-less. The attachments completely stripped out when installing and it's useless now unless I cobb something together. On top of that, if you use broadheads the shroud is too small to completely cover them so the blades are exposed and can be impacted unintentionally very easily.

Save your money, blood, and headaches and carry the bolts in a safe, detached shoulder-carry quiver or similar.

They're all pre-set for the indicated pressure for whatever gun it's going into (he made them for many different makes/models of airgun). If it's for a Mrod it'll be set at the proper bar. If YOU want to adjust it differently email him & see if he can mark different pressure settings (if it's the original mfg/seller). It couldn't hurt. If it's a second party seller you're probably SOL.

I got light into the rebated portion of the muzzle and could see no threads. But when I worked in machine shops I would have been fired for leaving such a rough surface. Guess I will have to talk to DonnyFL about a unique adapter for these guns. Be Well Brothers, Bandito.

I use one in conjunction with the ring loc. Try it. If you don't like it, take it off. Easy peasy
