Brocock/BRK  Atomic, Ghost and Pathfinder XRs… a

I had a sweet, nighttime plinking session with my Atomic. Followed by a sweet session the next day with my Pathfinder XR. Which prompted this post… When I first received my Ghost Carbine, for a while it felt like the Pathfinder was in jeopardy. After downsizing the scope on the Pathfinder the Ghost has made me appreciate the Pathfinder more. And by the same token my Pathfinder makes me appreciate my Atomics all the more for their small, outsized utility. A simple HPA hand pump and off you go… The Ghost being the latest is still fairly new to me, and am trying to figure out where “it” fits in the stable. That it is a PCP amendable to many different, efficient and effective iterations is a given. Its been proven in competition and in the field by many others…🙏 For me, I have found that “less is more” in my pesting and plinking endeavors. As for the Ghosts’ role? TBD…

Short rat kill video 09.13.24

Love it… good shooting on those nasty vermin… At those ranges the CPHPs will get it done at half the price… I remember going through two tins of AAs 16 grain pellets slaughtering roosting starlings at night. Felt foolish as the ranges were really short, after that I’ve standardized on CPHPs for all my sub 40 yard pesting… Give it a try you may be surprised at their effectiveness, particularly at those close distances… Here’s a 20 yard shot ou5 of my Atomic XR…

Yeah, I understand about the CPHP’s. I just have so many of the 25.39’s. Plus a lot of the heavy HADES. They shoot so good out of my GHOST. I also get a lot of chances at further shot distances. I actually killed one last night at 40 yards.

Scope fog

A scuba mask fogs up all the time. Your body heat warms the air and constantly fogs the lens. There are dozens of products and dozens of home remedies. Paste wax works great. Saliva works great. Lemon or lime juice. Silicone grease. Armor All or "Son of a gun" protectant...

Lots of products help. But toothpaste works best. It's got a little fine abrasive. If you used it on coated lenses it would probably damage them after multiple uses. But it won't scratch glass and makes the best anti-fog treatment out there.

You don't have to rub it on the glass. Just gently smear a little on there and wipe it off. You can let it dry and brush it off. I bet you could use it for years and never see any damage to the glass. I use it on eyeglasses all the time when wearing a respirator and it eliminates fog completely. I honestly dont THINK it will damage a scope at all but I suppose that depends on the coatings.
After posting this question I have realized there are sooooo many options to prevent your scope from fogging up!!! I think I am going to just stick with the old take my gun outside before getting everything else ready to shoot so it can just acclimate itself! I do appreciate the advice tho!!👍🏻

RTI  Mora .357 issues

Hi,

it was never meant to tension the barrel using that technique... It just has to be tight in order to not get any air blast to the face. But with the new clamp (which you have), it has an oring which makes sure you don't get air blasted. The front cap is on there very tight. So with the new clamp you don't have to unscrew the front cap in order to take the shroud off, but you can take off that second oring which you mentioned and take the shroud off from the rear (of course you need to take the whole barrel out of the gun first). So that second oring serves like a C clamp to lock the shroud on there.

That large thin nut disassambled whole valve assembly. In order to adjust dwell time, you have to move that part which you said moves freely, so either by using a hex tool which you insert in the middle or something smaller which you put in thru the sides holes and then turn that knob.

Airgun Technologies  Vulcan 3 burrs near the crown

I managed to squeeze a few shots yesterday.
I can now say that MRD Grand's shoot better from my Vulcan than Deep's.
Tried KO .216, terrible, about 50mm (2") groups at 50m
Tried KO .217, these were great, two groups, 15mm and 20mm (really don't know inch conversion of that)

Then the weather turned around in a matter of minutes, we got strong winds, heavy rain and hail.
At least it's a start, I've fixed the barrel problem and it shoots good.

Only problem is, it will be weeks if not months when I'll have free, alone time to shoot again.
