Niksan  Amazing how fast a sub $500 rifle becomes a slightly sub $1,000 rifle

Or a 2200 impact becomes a 7000 impact
If i did anything beyond 40 or so yards I might consider a $2200 rifle.
Shrinking a quarter size POI to dime size, I just can't justify that cost.
For what I do, plinking and pests, close is good enough and my collection of sub $500 rifles ($500 except the Terminator) are more than adequate.
Granted, investment in most of them after purchase, as in this case, can double the price.
The Terminator is the one I invested the least after purchase, is a BinTac modified and all I added were barrel bands and that huge Huma 50 moderator
Most get Moderator, Huben Power adjustable regulator, Scope of variable quality, CF cylinder, barrel bands (custom if necessary), ARCA to picatinny adapter and bipod.

FX Biathlon mk2 tuning

Troy
Obviously, the interpretation of "hard tuned" to be hard to tune, or difficult to tune, colored my understanding
Thank you for clearing that up.
Edward
Finally, after proving to various EU biathlon clubs that I know absolutely nothing about AIRGUN Biathlon I received some emails specifically about the FX MII.

It is primarily a Biathlon 10 meter training rifle that also meets the standards for in door 10 meter sporting class.

The export version can be adjusted between sub 12 FPE and sub 20 FPE.

Which chronographs are capable of calculating BC

BC is still best calculated by what speeds are MEASURED & there differences between two distances ( Ideally 50y or better separation ).
In this way no approximate drag models are in play ... just an ACTUAL of how draggy a specific projectile actually is based on the speed & if known "Air density" it was shot at during said test.

Kalibrgun  PCP Slug Gun- True effective range with slugs could be farther than we think.

Nice shooting! Impressive what everyone is doing with airguns these days. For me they are a 100 yard and in tool. Maybe I will venture further one day 🤷‍♂️
I was always shooting pellets at 100 about 7-8 years ago. Once I started shooting slugs, it was a lot more challenging to keep pushing the range.
I've been pleasantly surprised just how well this setup works actually. No more mod's. for this gun, just trigger time now.
Shot a couple sub MOA 100 yard groups yesterday. Just too close, no real challenge.
Turned to a 4" steel plate @ 300 yards in a lot of wind.
Still able to put 9 -10 out of 12 shots on the plate. A high BC slug is truly remarkable at that range in the wind.

N/A  Old Noob needs a basement handgun

@marflow 777 , I like your style. I pre-ordered the .177 Reximex RPA because it gives me some options. I have two compressors and a hand pump. Ideally, a fully functioning S&W 79G would work for me but I have some serious presbyopia issues and I lose the front sight unless I am in good sunlight. This condition also affected my under the lights tennis playing. This , my 2d winter in NE Iowa in over 43 yrs, I might be relegated to using the Reximex indoors with a red dot/C-More/UltraDot what have you as I have used a variety of those before on PB pistols. The AV10/Gamo Compact came in a close 2d and may one day make it to the house.

Target box refurbish after 17 years of use.

This box I built in 2007 shortly after buying my 97K and getting back into air gunning. Today I took it apart to clean it out and replace the shot out parts. Mainly the front panel and inside steel plate. Here's a pic of the 1/16" thick stainless steel plate that's been in it since 2007, the pellets finally penetrated and started eating up the backer board.
IMG_7370.jpeg

IMG_7371.jpeg

Behind this stainless plate is a piece of 3/8" plywood and this is attached to a piece of 3/4" MDF board, and installed in the box at about a 30deg angle. Pellets had penetrated the 3/8" plywood and started to bulge the 3/4" MDF...lol.
The back of the box is 3/4" plywood and no pellets made it into that.
After taking it all apart and cleaning it out, several pounds of lead and wood and paper. Then installing a new stainless plate and backer boards , here's what it looks like with the front panel off.
IMG_7367.jpeg

Look at the wood inside the box where the pellet fragments ate it away, almost like sandblasting it.
The old front panel was pretty splintered as well.

IMG_7369.jpeg

This is from shooting springers only. Next I made a new front panel out of 1/2" plywood and used aluminum angle to protect the edges of the opening.
IMG_7368.jpeg

A quick coat of spray paint and then I sealed it up with silicone to keep it dry inside and keep bugs out, then screwed the front panel back on. I also made new feet for the bottom out of pressure treated outdoor wood. This box stays outside, but I do keep a black trash bag over it when it's not being used.
IMG_7373.jpeg

Next I will attach the clips around the cut out that will hold the cardboard and target paper.
IMG_7372.jpeg

When I'm done the whole thing will get a new camo paint job and back out in the yard it goes for many more years of use. It is quite heavy, so there's a carry handle on top for easy carrying. There also a wind flag mount on the back of the box. Update later.......✌🏻

Inexpensive but pretty decent bipod

A couple years back I bought an atlvas v8 clone that lasted about about a year before one of the legs snapped. But I used the hell out of that bipod and abused it a good bit, so for pnly $25-$30 bucks the bipod was definitely worth it. It worked extremely and I could cant, tilt the head as well as have a full 180⁰ adjustability with 30⁰ settings in between and adjustment of length. They stopped selling them on ebay last I checked.

New one… Last one

New one 😁 Last one ☹️

For decades I had one airgun for plinking, pesting and hunting, a Feinwerkbau 124. About 15 years ago the 124 needed a new piston seal. While searching for a replacement part I bumped into the world of modern airguns and got seriously infected with the bug.

Now, 25 + airguns later, I have a couple of airguns for every discipline that I’m interested in. I’ve called “last gun” several times and managed to keep from purchasing anymore until I saw what I think is going to be the ultimate squirrel stalking gun.

My "last airgun" is a .22 caliber/600 mm FX DRS Classic fitted with a MTC Copperhead 4-16x44 compact scope. I’m pleased and impressed with it; at 6 pounds, 10 ounces, I love the light weight. I'm getting about 35 shots on a 230 bar fill.

We’re still in the break-in/honeymoon period; she’s shooting decent groups and doesn’t seem pellet picky at all. JSB 18g (925fps); 15.89g (960fps); 14.3g (990fps) are stable out to 30 yards with the factory tune.

I’m pleasantly surprised on how nice the synthetic stock is. The balance and ergonomics are good for me so the DRS points well. The cheek comb seems to be designed for 50 mm scopes and high rings. I may try a set of medium rings to lower the scope a bit.

Future plans include detuning the DRS from 33 ish fpe down to 15-20 fpe (depending on what it likes) and making a snap-shooting “skeleton” style stock (kinda like the straight grip and weight forward balance on a shotgun) out of birch plywood.

Now to get ready for the squirrel season! 🙂

Cheers!
