i can hild a caliper on the exit hole if you want..It much larger than .510...They leave pleanty of extra room to prevent clipping
I'll take your word for it. There's not many guys out there running .51, so I couldn't find anything on the matter online.

Amazon Really!

I am well aware of all of this, but sometimes when you need a product quickly Amazon is a good option.
Yeah that is true. You can get it fast but yeah they don’t package anything well. I have bought apolo pellets from there and they packed them similar. Those pellets are pretty much indestructible but they didn’t shoot well unfortunately.

I got scammed by GraphicMan Innovations on his "Pocket Press"

It's as important to see the bad reviews of a product as it is the good reviews. While it sucks for him, being an early customer, at least he has hopefully spared a number of other people a similar pain. Being an early adapter quite often means you are taking a chance as there is no "real time" reviews or information out there.

Airgun Technologies  .25 Uragan 2 700mm regulator adjustments results?

This is a late response but maybe will help you, considering your hand pump training 😅
I have U2 .25 700mm and with tuning the HS tension I managed to get higher speeds than yours (ZAN 37grain@950fps) while it’s using only 1bar per shot. Less pumping, right? 😅
All the best,
S

EDIT: regulator is opened 1/4th more than factory settings. My assumption is that’s approximately 160-165bar

AEA  Zeus .72 ready for deer season

@Nealgl1985 Were you shooting seated, standing, or prone? Which sort of shooting rest did you use? That rifle looks heavy as hell!
The zeus is not light weight, but the red dot weighs nothing so its not horrible. I only hunt from a ground blind or treestand so weight isn't much of an issue for me.

I was shooting off of the Caldwell stinger sitting at a bench in the woods where I have a 20, 35, 100, and 150 yard range setup. This rig only saw 35 yards though.

It's not my favorite to shoot. Heavy recoil isn't really my thing, but putting big holes in deer that will leak lots of blood is, so that is why I got the zeus.

I did not end up hunting with it yet. I got busy and I rarely hunt outside of archery season. I should have more time to hunt this year. If I dont shoot all my deer during archery I will probably give this a test run on Bambi.

Ill report back here with the results if it sees any action.

Hatsan  Hatsan FlashPup QE Tuning Questions

Looks like your good to shoot as is .. sadly but know nothing on tuning or aftermarket parts on that .. I usually go a few thousand rounds then may look at a improvement if it's really ever needed .
Thanks for replying. I have shot about a thousand rounds of JSB and a thousand of JTS through it and am now looking for anything others have done to theirs. This may not be a rifle the members here are really messing with being entry level or under what most seem to consider entry level.

FX  I haven’t shot my FX Impact M3 in 6 months. Is there anything I should do to the gun before I start shooting again?

Poi will be a little different due to air pressure change at different outdoor temps. Doesn’t man there’s anything wrong the gun!
Dont have that issue with a plenium and a regulator. My fx impacts
The gun has been stored in a case in a cool, dry closet. It has been stored with tank pressure is 210 bar.
The 1st reg was set to 200 bar and the gauge reads 200bar.
The 2nd reg was set to 150 bar and the gauge reads 155 bar, so it has crept 5 bar during the 6 months of storage.
That's interesting. Your M3 came with the first set to 200 bar?

if you have upgraded to the power block and other odds and ends along the way these would be somewhere around 10bar lower because those upgrades actually make the gun that much more efficient.

Other  Next Gun

Well I've been contemplating selling off my semiautos, SK19 and three K1s and replacing them with a Ghost. I could replace three K1s of .177, .22 and .25 with one Ghost with 3 barrels.
Why sell all of the k1s and not just keep one?
You couls.get 2 or 3 ghosts if you sell the lcs19 and two k1s.
Agt Uragan 2 in .25 shooting 37g Zans at 935fps and very accurate 100 yards +. Point of impact doesn’t change even when taking shroud off to clean or quad rides. If I get another rifle it’s gonna be an Agt.

Sick!
So I think I’m leaning towards the taipan vet 2. I messaged Derrick Wall and if i go that rout I’ll purchase from him with his tune For slugs, he said that would be the best option between the cricket and taipan.
Between the cricket and the taipan I'd choose taipan over cricket simply over the easy and simple mag to breech loading, and there's no ping on the taipan where as on the cricket 2 no amount of moderator or power adjustment will make it go away.

More Rats and Starlings Night Time Shooting

@Contndr35BB Thanks. Hopefully you will get a chance at shooting starlings roosting at night. Easy targets for sure, at least with the beginning few shots before they get spooked. Nice haul with them rats, keep up the good work. I was back at the rat farm last night, but it was pretty slow because not many rats were around and there were no starlings roosting either. I guess they got the eviction notice, lol.

Umarex  Leaning towards a Zelos as a first PCP

I went with the .25, wanting something with some additional power and range. In retrospect, the .22 might have been a better choice, but for now I am going to call it a tossup. I only have a very few rounds down range. 7 rounds for an initial scope zero, and one round that made for a very bad day for a rodent.

Here are my initial impressions :

1) Documentation is lacking. I think I spotted an error or two in the manual, but not too critical.
2) Fit and finish isn't great, but it isn't horrible either. I'm trying to keep in mind that this is a $420 rifle.
3) Seals seem to be in good condition on the rifle. Initial charge of 3600psi held tight for three weeks.
4) I've never had a bullpup before. Because of the stock geometry / cheek weld, the offset between the center of the barrel and center of optic is very large, this requires good ranging and a good dope sheet to ensure good zeros at different target distances. Once I settle on a scope for this gun, I am going to need scope mounts with some built in elevation offset to try and operate near the mechanical zero point of the optic. I'm not explaining this well, but I bet you understand. Right now, with a 0 MOA ring elevation offset, I am near max elevation for the scope adjustment. That's not ok for me. YMMV.
5) I find the cheek piece to be bulky... it feels as though it is difficult to find a setup in which I don't have to either cant the rifle or cant my head. This is really just a continuation of my #4 item.
6) The trigger, while set at a light weight, is very, very "creepy". I have not attempted adjustments yet, but independent of this being either a one or two stage trigger, the trigger creep is bad. I tend to be a trigger princess though. You put a speck of trigger crunch under a stack of mattresses, and if I lay on that thing I will know right away. I cut my teeth on Anschutz triggers and they spoiled me. (Again, this is a $420 gun).
7) Apparently not unique to Umarex, the barrel was full of crud when I unboxed. It took about 25 patches with ballistol and a good 30 minutes or more of pulling a patch worm to get it *mostly* cleaned up.
8) It does appear to be wicked accurate. I've only tested it out to about 50' at this point, but if the pellets are not going into one hole, it is because I did not break a clean shot. I can forgive pretty much all of the rest of the issues if this is as accurate as my initial, informal testing shows.
9) I find the safety to be on the wrong side of the rifle for my liking. I would prefer to operate the safety with the thumb of my trigger hand.
10) The rifle with scope and bipod is heavy, and doesn't carry well. The "receiver" is very blocky and just sort of feels unwieldy if you carry it with one hand. I'm not going to be spending a day in the woods with this, so this is of somewhat minor annoyance. Not really an issue.
11) The picatinny rail is slightly out of spec with regards to edge break on the "side" of the rail. I made another post on this forum discussing this. I was able to order a .5" offset that I needed to lift my scope up a bit more that worked well as an interposer between the rifle and my mount to allow me to attach my scope and lift it up to deal with the bulky cheek piece.

I've done no tuning at this point. The above is pretty much out of the box impression only. BTW, Midwest Gun was a good vendor. I will use them again.

That seems like a lot of griping, but all in all I am so far pleased with the rifle and I have good confidence that it will serve my purposes well. I don't think it is terribly loud, but I live up in the hardwoods and corn fields and my neighbors are a little more distant. It's quieter than a suppressed .22LR super sonic round but not as quiet as a subsonic suppressed round if that gives you any reference.

Airgun Technologies  Vulcan 3 HP .30 with added Huma MOD40-4/0 = severe clipping!

HUMA MOD50 4/0 .25cal, used with Uragan2 700mm .25cal;
SEVERE SLUG CLIPPING!
POI is shifted beyond measurable distance, or at least it is pointless to even try to measure it.
Sound report is great though, but who TF cares when you can’t shoot a sh with it 😅

Dremmel time!

I’ll post the results

Diana  How a stormrider should be

Ok, had a little time today to pull the barrel and cut off 2 more inches to bring the moderator back where my OCD wanted it.

It is now a whopping 32" OAL, and 24" with the stock folded. Set up for 4 mags at 15.5 FPE with Hades. I also swapped out my sniper 3-9x32 scope for a BSA Sweet 2-7x32 for smaller, lighter rig.

Still giving me nickel sized groups at 30 yards which is all it's going to be pushed too.

Zelos Slow Leak 😒

All my Snowpeaks eventually developed a slow leak around the fill port area. I took them apart and cleaned everything and applied new silicone grease and didn’t have any more issues. Now when I get a new Snowpeak I do it as part of the pre-shooting protocol. I’ve found that my Snowpeaks are some of the best at holding air after I do a complete disassembly and cleaning.
Thanks for the prevention tips, will do as soon as it arrives.

Calculating Ballistic Coefficient

If shooting 300yds+, I would account for it.

At my latitude (35.3 degrees) when shooting due East (90 degree azimuth) vs due West (270 degree azimuth), it makes about a 1” vertical difference at 300yds and about a 5” vertical difference at 600yds. That’s with my 7mm, according to Strelok.

For me its only .01"-.1" @ 40 degree latitude when I calculate Eotvos alone by itself at 600 yard shooting due east, but heck I could be doing it wrong and may need to re-evaluate my calcs.

The Magnus effect or Aerodynamic jump has a much greater effect than Eotvos AFAIK. @Ballisticboy definitely would know better what effects vertical stringing at long ranges more than us.

Sterloks spin drift remains static regardless of projectile velocity, not sure how much stock I put into their calculations. Geoballistics does not show any major vertical drift from 300 or 600 yards from Eotvos alone, but does show a huge difference in spin drift with velocity changes.
