HW/Weihrauch  Scopes - new to break barrel rifles.

I have had good results with this 4-16 x 44 mm IR, SF compact Airmax Hawke scope mounted on my HW95L .22 using Hawke 2 piece tactical medium rings. Rifle averages about 17 FPE and I have almost 8K shots so far. My wife also enjoys plinking from our back deck while using the IR feature. This scope has accurate Mildots when set of 10 x mag which is .9"/25 yards & 1.8"/50 yards. I have the scope set for a 25 yard zero & use holdover for hunting shots over that range. Hawke also has a 4-12 x 40 mm compact but that model was not yet available when I purchased mine.

FX  Bhaur's analysis of POI shift in FX guns

I also think the fact I use electric scopes exclusively helps. No tracking errors on the turrets. Even a very high end scope can have a 5% tracking error.
That's utter garbage!!

I own many High End optics... Tangent Theta , ZCO , S&B , March , Kahles , Leica .... and i have used a vast array of Top End optics and never have i seen any with a "5%" tracking error!!

N/A  Pcp shrouds best place to get material

I wouldn't trust carbon fiber threads for a shroud unless you're not threading them and running em differently than stock does...

I however thread into mine on both ends and prefer aluminum tubing for a shroud.

You just have to make aluminum inserts with threads not to bad or you can buy them

Fx maverick

Hi all,

I currently own an FX Maverick Sniper .22 with a slug kit. I had the gun set up with 36g slugs, and it was shooting at 960 fps with the first regulator set at 180 bar and the second regulator at 150 bar, with the hammer set to 7. I experienced a slug jam right at the end of the barrel. After struggling to remove the slugs, the gun's fps dropped to 920 fps. I am currently shooting 30g slugs, but I can't get the gun to shoot higher than 960 fps, even after I increased the second regulator to 170 bar. Any advice? Thanks!
Did you get the barrel indexed all the way back in didn't get oring out of place sounds to me like you didn't lose much but somewhere you're just not quite lined up?

Benjamin  25 caliber Marauder Range Session

Same here. Not enough of us M-Roders left to fuss amongst ourselves :).

I was sitting out back shooting targets and along come some invasive collared doves. There are fewer of them now! Then I went back out to pick them up nd dispose of them and they were gone. There then appeared a couple of very fat Mississipi Kites with dove feathers hanging out of their beaks. I wonder! The M-Rod is definitely minute of dove :).
Oh you have to try these it took the head off a tree rat amazing

HW/Weihrauch  Talk me into a Weihrauch HW100

I never got on with it. I was thinking that one of the main reason I wanted the gun is for aesthetic reasons. However, I sold my Taipan Veteran Long and bought a Standard .22 version and I like the look so much that I lost interest in other guns for the time being. Also, although I do love the look of a standard configured gun as well, when it comes to how I use my gun, shooting out of windows, I started to think that a 42+ inch gun might be a bit cumbersome compared to a 28" bullpup. I actually put in an order for another Veteran Standard in .25 so if I will ever get the HW100, it won't be for a long while.
I think the Taipan you ordered was a great choice. Pretty potent to boot.

FX  Fx Impact mk4 .25

Well it's no better here in wheat country. I live north of OKC about an hour and west of 35 on 51. About the trees are around the creeks. I tell people a t post out here is cover lol
In the southwest corner I asked a guy what all those giant stacks of rocks were. He said mountains. I guess all the dirt blew off from the wind. Getting off topic so we better stop.

Air Venturi  Solved - Safety is stuck on my Air Venturi Avenger, how do I fix it?

So I removed the trigger because I did mod it by replacing the adjustment screws with long grub screws a la Walnut and Steel on YouTube.
After taking it out the safety was free to move. I put the safety into the on position and reassembled. And it works as it should.
Not sure how the pieces got crossed up so it wouldn't engage but they did. I'll keep an eye on it.

Tuxing double cylinder compressor - air smells like something burned inside

Bought new few months ago.
It has about 2 hours on it so far
Followed instructions to the letter, missed no steps.
It never exceeded 59°C
Works fine, builds up pressure fine, fills a 6.8L scuba bottle fine.
I'm using that small blue filter that comes with it and a longer gold one which has that brown descant in it and the white sponge like filters.
With those two filters air comes out dry even with all the humidity in my part of the world this time of the year.

But it smells like something burned.

I use Bauer diving compressor oil. Expensive but best for high pressure compressors.

First oil change was after first 45 minutes of running, I wanted to flush all the machining residue and sure, there was some aluminium dust in the oil.
Color of the oil is OK, no water in the oil.
After running, first cotton filter is really moist from all the humidity I live in but it's clean moist, no oil in the compressed air.

So, everything seems to be fine except that burned smell.
And it's not like old motor oil smell, more like singed fabric smell.

I will add one more filter with activated carbon to neutralise the smell but I would rather address the cause if there's something wrong

Anyone encountered something like this before?

FX  Fx powerpup fill probe leak

I don't see why you need to buy a foster fitting from FX directly or indirectly. I would measure the thread pitch and diameter and buy one that matches that (so you can screw it on). I would not be afraid of Amazon for this but I might also buy a "better brand" one at the same time. I have had the "cheap" one actually work better before when I've done this, however. I would be frustrated too if they showed up right after a re-ring job but it doesn't have to be something they did wrong either. It seems arbitrary why PCPs leak.
