FX  First time shooter/buyer advice needed

thanks guys yeah i am very aware of the fact that i will enjoy it as i love target shooting and have been into archery for a long time and can shoot out to about 150 yards on my property so it is nice to have the ability to shoot these while still at home…. With that said i am an advocate of buy nice the first time and wont have to sell and rebuy later….

As for caliber seems like a lot of the guys are shooting .22 but i could be wrong
You are on the right track buying top quality, particularly if you have the means, and more importantly the land to shoot on. At your starting price point you have great options. I like the .22 for what I do with my pellet rifles. The FX M4 is a multi caliber capable PCP, so you’re cover if you decide to change calibers. At your starting price point, you have nice options. Don’t overlook the BRK Ghost… Looking forward to reading more about your future PCP journey…

How could you predict FPS changes by changing only pellet weight?

Watsa" matta'?
Don chu like to do no shootin" over the chrony?
Dont mind at all shooting over the chrony, just not 250 times in an evening to sort some of this out.

did that once at the range...... paid for it the next couple of days :)

Huben  Anyone using the Huma GK1 regulator

Yeah, at higher pressure there’s just enough energy left after the shot to operate the mechanics. I wonder why Huma doesn’t include an optional plenum tube as they do for so many other reg conversions. I get that most people don’t want it longer but this is stuck in no man’s land. Well I guess it’s stuck in UK territory. Not casting any aspersions on you, Mike. I appreciate you trying it out and letting us know what it can and can’t do.

HW/Weihrauch  Airmasters master sport

...since it's a Airmaster has it already been polished out and reblued to a much higher standard than original? Have you bleached out or stained the stock (oxalic acid?) before refinishing?
No no need for bleach or acid on this one , French walnut . Just a good prep , alkanet oil and stock oil with a tad of drier added . Slow process

Wowza - pistol Hft event was a 60 shot course! 3 targets per lane and two shots per target. Again, shooting under the old growth cedar was really neat. Thanks to all for your hard work.
See ya next year.

Crosman  Challenger first outing!

Truth be told the Crosman target pistols and rifles are to Me the best deal going,.You can spend a lot more for something that is not as accurate ;plus you can hand pump them, and many shots to the fill and change the bolt to either side...Well they are target guns;the above one is so,'Cool" man,Far out!:D

Outlets for selling airguns

If I buy airguns off ebay, I check and see what the seller usually sells. If it’s a hodge-podgery of unrelated items, I pass. However, if the seller usually sells airguns or puts a unique, non-generic description, I may buy it then.

Otherwise, I stick to the forums, Gunbroker and of course the airgun shows.

Umarex  All hail the NOTOS!!!

I enjoy the Notos so much, that I purchased its big brother,...the Zelos.
I enjoy the Zelos so much, that Im waiting/watching for the Max 1 slug shooter.
BOTH the Notos and the Zelos, set me back about $680!
Snow Peak/Umarex would get my vote for "2024 airgun manufacturer of the year"!

Diana  Diana mod. 250 (two fifty) .177 cal. air rifle

That's a great report! Thank you!

The Diana rifles are great. I love my D34. The two fifty sounds like a sweet deal.

The high end rifles are really works of art but a budget shooter that will hit what you point it at is what butters the noodles.

As the years go by I'm giving up some of my bias against Tru glo sights, plastic trigger guards (and triggers), synthetic stocks and gas rams. Not too long ago I wouldn't consider a rifle with any of those features. My favorite shooter these days has ALL OF THEM. And I'm not ashamed to admit I like them all.

I honestly like my budget shooter better than my high end rifles in (almost) every respect. I shoot them more, worry about them less and can hit just as many targets. Honestly the difference in accuracy is very little unless you are shooting for the numbers.

I might just have to get a Dianese two fifty and name her Ming Lu Schmidt. She can hang with my new Spanish rifle Maria Conchita Alvarez and the two Turkish girls that live in the guest house.

Reseal FWB 600 Transfer Port

Yesterday my wonderfully accurate, reliable and consistent 600 started spraying shots two'ish inches low and an odd report; I didn't even have to use tissue paper over the breech to tell it was venting.
The compression chamber was holding air well, even over a couple hours, and the barrel breech seal (o-ring) was fine. This left the transfer port seal in the sliding breech, a tight fit under the breechblock. Inspection showed it had hardened to a crumbly yellow and was chunking out. It almost looked like old hardened varnish. I believe that was the original seal material so if not actually original to the assembly it was the same used as replacement (the 600 intro was 1984 iirc). The barrel breech o-ring is the newer blue material, probably replaced not too long ago before I got it (2yrs maybe?).
If it had been resealed within I have no way to tell without full disassembly, and truth is I did not want to do that just now for just the t-port seal. Im hopeful that it may have been resealed not long ago and not replacing the t-port seal was an oversight (can I be That lucky?). Fwiw, the proper way to get at this is disassembly of at least the stock from barreled action and separation of the trigger group/action from the barrel/pump/compression chamber (even if you don't disassemble the pump stuff).
SO, thinking about this I concluded I could pick the old seal remnants out from the opened breechblock with a toothpick. This went well enough but I did not know there was a thin shim? washer beneath the seal, perhaps to adjust the seal height/tension. It fell out and under the breechblock :(. Enough for last night......
Today I went at it again. I was able to hook the shim out with a thin brass wire diy 'probe'. That took more than a little finesse.
A quick spray of low pressure air, a film of FWB Special Grease on the new generation t-port seal and I was barely able to get it in, under, seated and in place (more toothpick work) in the bottom of the sliding breech. A film of the lube on the ramped exhaust port surface and done.
Test firing passed so out to the back deck rail.....a few warm up shots and back to the dismal paper target of yesterday.
I win :), futzy work but it can be done.

Oneleaf NV500 Day/Night Scope - Extremely Thorough Review (Video inside)

I have wondered why you cant zero the LRF just like you can on a laser for sighting purpose

It would be ideal if at least there was no L / R mismatch, up and down will of course depend on the rail you have the scope on if it have a angle or not, and of course how bar you shoot with a pellet having a parabolic trajectory.

Now i hope i used the right words in my #2 language.

Wonderful YouTube channel on airgun performance and accuracy

I would say, yes a rifling will rise wear as it increase friction / contact surface, but i also think at least in our " pure " lead slingers that wear will be minimal.
If you was shooting a smooth bore in a dusty place, the dust on pellets will probably be more abrasive / wearing than the rifling will do, so it must be minute things in this regard.

I do not like the AI or TTS ( Test To Speech ) things, to me it is a sign of laziness on the part of the producer of the content.
I acknowledge there can be a language barrier, and you sure also often hear that when AI or TTS try to pronounce a word spelled wrong, or i also think poor grammar can trip such software.
Aliso acknowledge some peple do not want their face on the tube, i am not too happy about that myself, though i have shared a few private videos in here, so wide open still just not searchable on youtube.

While traditional school / class room education was nothing but a nightmare to me, i can do it, especially with things i find a interest in, so i would take a guy and a black / white board giving me the run down.

red dot

Anyone looking for a red dot for their rifle I would recommend this one, it was easy to dial in and amazingly accurate, I been popping expired tins of pellets from 60 yards even when they spin sideways. minute of squirrel all day long
Um...the sight ISN"T...accurate !
The person doing the initial sighting in, and then USING the sight is !

The...dot...is JUST a...dot ! It moves around where-ever the person holding the gun...tells it to go with his/her hands.

Mike
