It's all about the numbers but understanding them is a different story

Your shot profile looks exactly like a hammer spring tension that's too light for the regulator pressure. Shot #1 was the first indication. Having a rise in FPS just before it goes off reg is the second indicator of this. You need to increase your hammer spring tension and find out the maximum velocity at its current reg pressure setting. Back up a smidge, 3% to 5%, from that maximum.

New Member intro

Welcome to AGN Wetwork
Also have a look at the Notos and the Avenge x fpr entry level pcps
if you look on youtube, there are some tuning guides to help you along if you mess up
A lot of people see the pros using slugs with a high degree of accuracy ..this is NOT simple
they have done hours of testing of speeds, weights and diameters to get to that point
can be very rewarding, or a huge headache
just my opinion
With barrels, LW barrels are good barrels, but a barrel is like a fingerprint..all are different and most require a little refinement(polishing)
i really can't determine if it is worth the money since i have not seen a side by side comparison
it's a little frustrating since there isn't a definitive answer.
you might get an OK- bad -excellent Lothar Walther barrel ..could get a great OEM barrel
If you are planning on upgrading to another Rifle, i would save the money to use towards your future purchase.
then in time, if you are still shooting the first rifle...then maybe go for another barrel

Side note...that's one evil smile on Solo Leveling

Hatsan  Hi all! New here ANY one have the blitz .25?

Most, if not all .25 airguns today will deal with just about any varmints with a well placed shot to the head or vitals. I, personally, would only use my .30 for larger prey like yotes or pigs but that's me. Not familiar with the Blitz but had Hatsans my first couple years into airguns. They always hit like a brick so I assume the Blitz would too, I assume.
Yes-- my hatsan .30 blitz does everything I need... ;) I was just curious if anyone had a .25 blitz ..... If you have never tried a blitz, do so if you can! the semi/full auto is to be reckoned with ......not nearly as accurate as for example, my .25 Armada, but with 10 or more rounds down range in the time I can load 1 round in the Armada, well the math does it's self... Thank you for posting!

EDIT -- AND YES- it does hit like a brick as you say :)

Other  Cometa Fenix USC Gas Ram .22 short review

Regarding the gas piston thing, does Cometa have any established track record regarding longevity? I've had a bit of trouble (completely leaked out with a very low pellet count) with G-rams in my Hatsan 95 Vortex, so I'm not sold on them yet (the gas rams, that is). Your Crosman seems to have been proven uber-reliable though...13yrs and still going on that ram??? That has got to be some kind of record! Re your new Cometa, that is one beautiful stock on that rifle!!
I don't know about longevity on the gas ram in the Cometa but I do know the chinese made Trail NP I bought back in 2011 is still healthy. I hope the Spanish used a better gas ram than Crosman . If so I should be set for the rest of my life :). This was the old Crosman 3 weeks ago.

Altaros  0.25 Cal Slug Grain / FPS / Drop / Drift

Not if the smaller caliber of equal weight is a flat based round nose, and the one of larger caliber is a spitzer….

When the mass is used to create a sleeker form, then it is reflected with a higher BC.

Here’s another example, that belies your assertion: Nosler makes 55 grain ballistic tips in both 5.56mm and 6mm… the 6mm has a higher BC, even though it has lower sectional density (mass:frontal area ratio).

N/A  What's the point of shooting single hand unsupported?

The one-handed pistol competition disciplines evolved from a combination of factors-
1) Pistols having originated as portable, short-range alternatives to rifles in combat situations, it is quicker to draw and shoot a charging enemy one-handed. Hence, traditional roots.
2) Humans need activities that distract from Reality. In the case of shooting pistols one-handed, sometimes taken to the extreme of psychological self-torment. 😵‍💫
3) One-handed pistol competitions are a less permanent escape from Reality than a bullet through the brain.
4) FWIW- interestingly, aforementioned escape from Reality (#3 above) is also most often exercised one-handedly. ☝️ Traditional roots again?

New FFP 10X 28mm Scope from GUNNR (Odin 1-10X LPVO Hunting Scope)

This scope is blurry at close range but would be good for hunting deer or medium to large game. It's not a target shooting scope, as I could barely make out the bullseye. That did not stop the Skout Epoch from puting on and awesome show! This has .30 cal shooting out to 68 yards. Happy Shooting! -Nate

Umarex  Buckrail moderate for Notos?

Nope, what I'm saying is that you introduce additional vibration, movement, influence, the bottle expands when filled, slowly decreases in size as it empties. The barrel band does not stabilize the barrel, it simple takes the movements of the thing it's rooted to and holds it in that space.

If you have horrible accuracy due to the design of the gun, adding a barrel clamp will drastically improve your accuracy.

If you start with a well designed and innately accurate gun such as the Notos, the barrel band inevitably leads to a loss in accuracy.

Firewalker is one of the premier Notos builders. He’s a big fan of the Notos …

Results  Tulsa August AAFTA Match Report

Bring a truck and a shovel up next month and we will see what we can do! We could probably rustle up another shovel for Jeff.
I think I speak for Jeff when I say there is no way we would do anything that could be confused with work.

Results  PSA FT Results - August 11, 2024 - AAFTA

In August we run our match in a way that more closely follows the grand prix rules, such as requiring the use of timers during the match. The course was setup with 5 lanes on the range, a kneeling lane from the deck, and the remaining lanes were setup along an ATV road that runs between the competition range and our club house. The wind was minimal, but there were a few lanes with targets that were shaded or in a location that could be considered a lighting challenge. There were a few uphill and downhill shots included in the course layout. Two lanes were forced standing lanes and there was one kneeling lane for a total of 8 shots standing and 4 shots kneeling. The course difficulty was 29.0 (excluding environmental modifiers).

Scores are of a possible 60 (or 60.84 if following the decimal system used to break ties)
Results are available in table format at PSA - FT- August 2024 Results

Resources  The shoulder / Butt question

Was this the "criss-cross apple sauce" rule? Or was there a gynecologist shooting with his feet in the stirrups and lighting the world on fire?

BTW, I appreciate your use of "open" as opposed to open. The subtext I am reading into this is "How can it be an open position if you are telling me what to do with my feet?" I may be incorrect, but it amuses me to read your post that way.

Yeah, the intent was to keep it fair since not everyone can get in the dead-man position, but most people CAN sit on a stool/bucket and use a bipod/shooting sticks.

Yet another example for a specific rule having a reason behind its creation. AAFTA rule book is full of them also. And sounds like another one regarding butthooks is coming.

Diana  Ghost ring suggestions?

Indeed, you totally lose the view-sharpening "diopter effect" when looking through such a large opening. I definitely won't be tossing my eye disks any time soon! Yet the human eye is so good at finding the center of a circle - even a big fuzzy one - you can shoot better than you might think that way. Williams' smallest eye disk is 3/8" diameter with about an .085" opening which is also good.

Just for giggles, here's a favorite ghost-ring sight of mine. This Parker-Hale PH 16M sight was an option on Webley Mk 3 sporters back in the day, and its usual disk was a dinky 5/16" in diameter witn an opening about .06".

View attachment 488115
It's not finding the center of a fuzzy circle that's problematic for me. It's seein the front post. The larger the aperture the fuzzier the front post gets for me. I know you know this but for the benefit of others, the closer the aperture to your eye the sharper the sight picture. That why classic target diopters hang way back of the receiver. There will come a day when all my sighting band aids won't be enough and I'll have to go all optics. Or get my eyes fixed like Crow.

Beeman .22 cal O-Ring help

Well I’m glad you got it.
I thought of a way to possibly get a size of an o ring like that in a barrel. It’s not cheap and not tested.
But one could take Mikrosil and apply it in the barrel. Let it set then push it out. Mikrosil is a little rubbery and should push out intact. Measure the plug that comes out. It’s a last resort, but from my use with mikrosil in the past it should work.
In forensics we use it to cast tool marks.

FX Crown MKII .22cal twist rate

There is a large variation of liners, with different twist rates also amount of choke. The naming is confusing lately.
I have four liners in .25 for example (and two in .22), two Superiors (x600 and x700 lengths) probably from different - over a year time stamps, and the choke amount is different I measured with push through slugs. I didn't investigated deeper but assuming these were different PN's.
Pull out the liner and best to measure the TR, I would suggest don't try to memorize the names but look up the PN (part numbers).

Target Design: What Do You Recommend — for High (and Low) Power Airguns?

What Target Design Do You Recommend for Competitions — for High and Low Powered Airguns together?

I'm looking to design airgun competitions for a growing airgun association in Peru.
And I would like to start with a clean slate — considering the power and technology that became available in recent years.
I'm posting this in the field target sub-forum — because you guys have lot's of experience with non-paper targets.

🔶 So, what target design suggestions would you have for me?

So far I consider the following factors important:

▪ reactive targets (i.e., they somehow show the hit from a distance, unlike paper that requires close examination)

▪ relatively low cost

▪ suitable for 12FPE guns and 100FPE guns

▪ suitable for short range (20y) and long range (100y [for 30FPE+ guns])

spotting scopes for every lane are not really an option

➠ The design is completely free, no need to follow field target traditions.

Thanks for any pointers, including steel grade, thinkness, the works. 😃

Matthias
Hornady sensors that lights up $18/pair. Should be able to detect low power hits.

That way you can keep the overall Field Target design with a face plate a kill zone and a paddle that triggers the sensor.

Krayford & Lypt Drake Trigger Guard for FX impact m4

If you decide to get the K&L Drake trigger guard for your m4 you need different screws the screws that hold the stock trigger guard are M3 15 mm you need to replace them with M3 20mm. It a nice rail and it protects the tank and give good support for resting rifle when shooting from different obstacles
