Umarex  Umarex ZELOS Review & Tuning Guide (48 foot pounds in .22) It's a BEAST!

I assume you got your airguns for free, from the manufacturer.
Maybe that is why you have no negative reviews.

As to your "tunes", there is no explanation of what they are and how to get them.
Post a link to your channel... I will wait.

HW/Weihrauch  Is having a barrel chopped, choked and recrowned still a “thing” these days?

A friend here has had several barrels cut and threaded by John. I imagine a choke would be easy to make before cutting the end thread. I respect both men. I think you'll be fine sending it to him.
I agree, three of my rifles John has done, and he does rechoke when cut down, if needed. John has provided before and after results with all he has done. But when I have one that I think is as good as it can get, I just wont roll the dice and see if it will be as good, I doubt it will shoot better. But for a 34D that shoots this good, right now it was an excellent investment, dumping more money to get the same results wouldn't be. Now if it was not as accurate as it is, it would be no decision. But your right, if it can be done, I have full faith in Johns work, and he is who would do mine.

FX  Opinions On Possible PCP Build/Specs

Hey Everyone,

New member here. Looking forward to all the info and knowledge you can offer.

Farmer, California, ground squirrels in our almond and walnut orchards. Squirrels are super skittish and won’t come out at all if I’m any closer than 80-ish yards - no matter how quiet I am, how still I hold, or how long I wait. I currently use a Savage B17 Precision that I love. I’m making fingernail sized groups at 50 yards with it. But it’s super loud and I’m having to wait 20, 30, 40 minutes before another one comes out.

Been looking into PCP air rifles for a while. I need something that is very accurate and consistent at 80 to 100 yards (I understand that wind/weather conditions will be more of a factor). I need something that is super quiet. I need something that I’ll be happy with for a long time without wanting to upgrade to something else in a few years.

I called Utah Airguns and spoke with them. Very helpful and informative. They helped me narrow down my possible considerations to a single build. I wanted to get some opinions from others on the following:

Impact M4 “Sniper” variant (700mm)
.25 cal pellets, 34 grain
Element Theos
Impulse moderator
Backbone and Loki rail added to rife
Bag rider added to rifle

Assuming I do my part on good trigger control, follow through, and shooting posture (on a table or laying prone mostly), and assuming wind is at a minimum or no wind at all, what kind of groups would you expect from a build like that in the 80 to 100 yard range? Should I have it tuned for slugs instead? I’m seeing a lot of conflicting reviews on YouTube on if pellets, hybrids, or slugs are better. Should I do a different caliber or grain? I’m seeing some people say that .30 cal is the way to go.

I appreciate any feedback and insight you all might have for me. I feel like going to air rifles is A LOT to learn. I apologize for any autocorrect errors or mistakes - typing this all up on my phone.
I just bought an fx impact M4 sniper 25 caliber they're doing groups at 50 and 100 yards five inside a dime at worst five inside a nickel at 100 yards with pallets if you go slugs you could reach it out to 150 200 yd and sometimes further with a good meal Dot scope I was told 25 grain pellets were best I have also hunted in Kern County Buttonwillow Taft and surrounding areas for landowners in their almond Orchards and Alfalfa fields for squirrels rabbits coyotes whatever it took to help out the farmers I always did it for recreation I did that for over 25 years let me know if you need any help I still have all my contact information and paperwork that they signed proving what I'm saying is true no use for lying in this industry took them a while to trust me Hunters do not have a good name being that some of them say their Hunters but do stupid things good luck buddy

FX  M4 impact .22 magaizne depth???

Sorry I don't know about the factory magazine but, I know for a fact the 40gr. Javelin slugs fit in Orion the Iguana Hunter magazines .

Thank you very much!!
I need to find a couple.

N/A  Weihrauch hw44 mag release spring

Here is the parts diagram:

The spring appears to be part 13. But the spring in the diagram looks heavier than your spring.

If the 'h' part doesn't fit you may have to disassemble that section and then experiment with different orders of assembly.

Maybe the gun needs to be locked or uncocked for the part to fit.
Hi Felinis
I've sort of figured h catch as lever is ambidextrous so I've swapped mag leaver to other side " it seems the aluminium slider slightly pulls out which then let's you just about slot it back in.
I now have schematic" so I should figure where spring came from.
Other than the H part it's quite easy to strip down/ if not a bit fiddley
I have read that some hw110 have issues and lose power after a while and beens this is basically the same gun I'm wondering if its what's happened to mine or weather the lose spring had something to do with it.
Hopefully its sorted when back together
Thank you for your input its appreciated and if I can help you in anyway just ask
Kindest regards
Paul

Anyone know if i buy the fx barrel kit, will it comes with slug liner?

@Joselito,

What is the length for your 1:16 liner? If it is longer than the 1:18 liner, then a difference in velocity and noise at the same settings (regulator pressure and hammer spring preload) is to be expected.

In theory, the only difference between liners is the rifling twist rate. The 1/16 spins the projectile faster that the 1:18 at the same muzzle velocity.

Individual barrels may have different friction, so the velocity could vary due to friction differences.

In theory, a faster twist rate may slow the projectile down in muzzle velocity, because there is more energy in the projectile spin. For slow rifling such as 1:16 there is very little energy in the spin, so I would go more with friction differences; especially at the muzzle choke.

This assumes that all the sealing O-rings in the barrel system are in the correct place, and undamaged. Else, simply changing the liner may have caused an air leak, which would reduce performance. It may also release more noise from the breech of the airgun.

FX  How many dry shots to bleed the plenum?

Like in the other thread….if the macro wheel isn’t causing velocity drop the micro is set too high. Where is the micro moving (between which numbers) when you turn the macro wheel??

I personally never bleed fx plenum with dry fire. I just turn the reg adjust screw a little ccw and it will bleed itself.

Thank you for the tips

.

I've always been pretty happy with Hawke scope, especially the Airmax. But lately I've been using Vector Veyron scopes. I have a 3-12X and a 10X both compact and am duly impressed with them. I routinely use them out to 100 yards and my only complaint is I wish I'd sprung for the illuminated versions, but everything else is super. Bright, clear and track perfectly.
Also, the SWFA Super Sniper scopes are fantastic. The 10X and 12X are very clear and track fantastic. They're truly hard to beat. I'm learning I almost never change the power on variables, so I'm liking the straight power scopes.

Crosman  Upgrading 1377 to 2240 Grip/Trigger Assembly

yes i know but he has become about the only place to go now for custom parts and he now has an You Tube channel
his way of paying through Pay Pal works for me
things is the good old days of building Crosman pistol has long gone
185 years ago you had many small makers and custom parts makers but they are all gone

Customs fees from Krale to US.

I will generally agree with you regarding AoA - pretty much my go-to shop as well.

But they can't/don't stock every brand & model, so sometimes one needs to go elsewhere.

Sometimes a brand might only be available in the U.S. from an outfit like Edgun West. And since I ain't shopping there, my best bet for purchase is a Euro store.
yep, not a great feeling to be limited to one supplier stateside.

When I buy a gun it’s almost always defective- MANUFACTURERS PAY ATTENTION

I agree with @Scotay42, who in the 2nd post of this thread alluded to the importance of the dealer in the QC of the gun
When I bought my Crown MkII I comparison shopped obsessively
But threw all that out the window & bought from a dealer that had great feedback and recommendations in the Forum
We talked about my "wants " in the gun, and when it arrived it was not only defect free but tuned exactly as we had discussed.
Bought late last winter it has been shot every day without any issues.
And that (for the Never FX-ers) includes no POI shifts
I don't see anyone else mentioning names, so I will not do so
If it's permitted, let me know and I fess-up
Or just send me a PM

Just my too scents

Umarex  Trigger on Umarex Surge Max Elite is similar to ...?

Looking into modding my Umarex Surge Max Elite (.22) to make the trigger lighter than the 4.75 pound pull. I've already slightly rounded the trigger adjustment screw and this seems to have reduced or smoothed out the first stage pull. So...before I tackle this, I'm wondering if the trigger is similar to other Umarex break barrel models out there. If so, I can find an online trigger mod vid to go by.
