N/A  Strange Question maybe?

Well, as your well aware of any air on the HP side of a regulator will not and cannot contribute to the shot being taken.
Now place equal to set point pressure upstream of reg and the reg will basically be in bypass or a state for seat weeping never closing down and regulating itself.
* Would guess this would not be ideal as in plenum pressure might be sorta bouncy in holding stable ? .... tho a WAG

Now place regulated air directly into plenum and being the fill foster can flow a lot more than the regulators seat ... you may gain effective plenum volume somewhat * Downside being if the upstream HP side of regulator DROPS BELOW the pressure your putting into plenum the sealing medium ( Soft side of seat ) might suffer crush damage as there is really no way to guarantee the seat will stay open allowing air to equalize either side ????

You understand how regs work ... so no class lesson required.

Just thoughts ...
I wrote my jibberish and read this in between, so I had to post it anyhow. I agree with you.

Heavy Pellets for .22 Maverick

I think the same tune (or nearly so) for pellet & slug is doable depending on your expectations. I tune for slugs looking for MOA at 100-150 yards because that’s harder to achieve. A few clicks on the macro wheel or just turning the valve in allows me to stack JSB MRD’s at 50 yards, so any pests within that range are in real trouble. It may not be the ultimate tune for the pellets but it will make a ragged hole at 50 yards. My thinking is that pellets are easier and short range is easier so that’s where I compromise.

By the way, has anyone gotten the JSB Jumbo Beasts to perform? If so, what was the recipe? I spent limited time with them and the 1:24 twist standard liner and they stunk.

Huben  Huben Gk1 Super Short.

Mine's also in .25, but I don't think they sell slugs that heavy where I live. The heaviest Ive seen here are 40 grainers.

I'm currently trying these out on my Vulcan 3 HP.
So far they have showed potential. Way more than any .253 before them.

Tuxing exploded view

I managed to repair my compressor.:love:

for further repair questions or problems:

View attachment 568092
I consider the compressor (Tuxing?) in the photo to be a Yong Heng clone-type. Parts can often be swapped between types, but converting/swapping between a Yong Heng-type (with high-pressure outlet at top of cylinder head, into a high-pressure junction block on the right, and with a low-repressure junction block on the left), and a clone (with high-pressure outlet on the side of the cylinder head).

The high-pressure piston & cylinder are different size between YH and some of the clones.

*Just some stuff in case it is of value to someone.

Bit of a cleaning hack

I’ve used patchworm cleaning kits in my 10/22 for a while now so when I ordered an avenge-x in 177 it was just natural to clean the barrel the same way. I tried putting the line in through the barrel to pull through and was stopped by the internal baffles. Grabbed a plastic straw worked it through the baffles, pushed the patchworm in, pushed in far enough to get through the straw, pulled the straw out and voila the line came though no issues.
hope this helps somebody.
Thanks so much for this tip. I was fighting with running anything through the barrel of my Avenge-X to clean it. This was the fix.

JTS 29.63g - Results & Thoughts

Thanks. I realize that shooting 75 yards is a bit silly the 1st time you are trying a pellet in a rifle, but I was happy with these initial results.

I’m really hoping these 30g JTS .25s do well at 100.

The tunes on my 600mm Crown and this 600mm RTI are “mild” feeling to shoot these 30g at around 900fps.

My shooting style using a light hold is more challenging when using .30 caliber due to the recoil. I’m getting good .30 caliber results with the FX WC MK2 700mm - 44g @ 900 and 50g at 870 - but I don’t like managing the recoil.

Shooting these 30g .25s the rifle is so much more mellow.

Definitely the JTS I’ve tried are performing at the same level as the soft lead JSBs.

Now I’ve ordered some AEAs to try - its nice to have options - especially when they offer different weights than JSB.
Yeah I agree. The delta wolf I have shoots the fx 34 gr pretty well too. Just not quite as well as those 29 gr. The gun will really stack the 25 gr jts and fx too. That .25 power level is much smoother than 30 for sure. With you there. I have the mk3 WC in 30 and run pellets right about where you do with yours. I have always found the fx liners in 30 to be stellar. Love them.

Stoeger  Updated Warranty Replacement for XM1 Bullshark Arrived From Benelli Today

@JimD Have book marked several of you post on things done with your guns.
Going to wait till I learn more about what my gun wants before deciding what directions I might go with any mods. Certainly will be getting spare parts like poppets,o-ring kits, ect.. Long ago learned that spare parts are better on my shelves, verses being out of stock when I need them.
Found out today that new barrel for my big bore just left manufacturer. Yet to be told how much that will set me back. For now funds will be going into that gun to hopefully finish resolving it's issues.

Western Airguns  How'd you like the Mordax?

Who is shooting a Mordax in pistol configuration?
Good question.

I shoot my Thomas when converted to pistol which is really long and heavy(sucks for offhand though), had a 45-70 TC Contender with a 14" barrel as well a 15" in 17Rem, both way easier to shoot in standing pistol fashion than the Thomas. Plus a few other large pistols also.

This Mordax will mostly be for fast steel shooting as a pistol but it certainly is easy to put the folding stock back on for SBR semi duty.

How to switch calibre for Snowpeak M60B

@Perle. Thanks for watching. I was able to go out this morning to the farm to try out my new .25 cal M60B. I shot the NSA 26.8gr slug using the factory setting of 130 Bar and HS preset from factory. I setup a target box 28 yards away and took my first shot. It landed at 5 o'clock on the bullseye. Wow, I got lucky with the turret setting that was on my Helix scope when it was on the FX Impact MK2. I didn't have to chase and find the POI.

I continued to put another 4 shots at the bullseye. They grouped together probably 3/4 - 1". I was excited with the result from my first .25cal gun. I repeated another 5 shots on the second bullseye. Similar result. I was happy because these slugs were getting along with this .25 barrel. What a way to start my tuning. The average speed was 835 fps. A bit slow for my liking as I wanted to have at least 50-60 ft.lb of energy with the 26.8gr slugs.

I adjusted the HS going clockwise and the speed didn't increase but rather decreased a bit to 821 fps. So I decided to go the opposite direction, counter clock wise, turning 1/4 turn at a time. I kept turning to the left and the speed began to increase to 850 fps. I kept on going till I hit a dead end with not more movement with the HS. My final speed was 863 fps with the REG still at 130 Bar. The 5-shots group were ok, nothing to brag about.

I then attempted to make adjustment to the REG to 140 BAR, but I didn't know how to turn the protective sleeve and access the REG nob. Plus, I didn't have the right screw to make the adjustment. I couldn't do any adjustment at all.

So I placed the target box out to 50 yards and began to record some scope cam footages on accuracy based on 865 fps. Again, the groups were not too excited, but it showed potential. It was windy as usual at this location by noon. I did the best I could and just shot a few 5-shoots groups.

The wind would pushed the slugs off course but I was quite happy with the results anyway. I will need to figure out how to make adjustment to the REG and continue to harmonic tune this .25 Cal M60B.

Stay tune...

Air Arms  Tony Leach O-ring conversion? Or HW 45 seal

O-ring type seals on spring pneumatic air guns are short lived !!

O-rings can move dynamically but can & do roll within there containment groove/channel under high speed dynamic motion. They are also bias to fret on the surface of contact if not rolling and killing the seal they might be making otherwise.
An o-ring is just not designed for that type high speed cyclic dynamic motion.

Quality pellet prices (vs .22LR rimfire)

I am confused. If that's 4 10 shot groups I am looking at, very good. If that's 2 groups I would not be happy. I bought my 54 used off this forum. At 20 meters it was a 3 inch gun at best. I sent it to John Thomas in York Pa and had him tune it. When it came back it was a1.5 gun or at times s bit better. I bought a tuner from Hector Medenez and now at 20 meters it just makes a hole. I have shot back to back 5 shot 1,5 inch groups with it as 100 yds. At 50 yards if you miss a 45 empty case its on you. Yes it's heavy but I am fine with that. Weak point of the gun to me is the trigger but I have learned it.I have no interest in PCPs. I would take a 22 rf, no tanks or oversupply to contend with.
Yes, 4 separate 10 shot groups- 2 at 25yds and 2 at 37yds.

Fastest Pellet Sorter in the Works

.......let's stick to weight measurement for now..... swaging each pellet to size is far more easier to do than mechanical sorting using a gauge...
This (y)
The problem with the Pelletgauge is that the holes are "burn-cut" with a lazer, and the holes ID may be accurate enough but burrs inside walls catching the lead here and there.
I gave up sorting pellets by head size because of a lot of time consuming, but I am doing head sizing instead.

Avenge x oring kit

Another reason I prefer to order the O-rings needed to create my own repair kit; usually costs me about the same as a factory kit or just a bit more. Sometimes it is possible to get by with a generic kit from Harbor Freight or some other similar outfit but the Avenge-X uses an unusually large number of NBR 90s. You might try an auto supply store or a shop dealing with hydrolic pumps to find the one O-ring that broke. Good luck.

Umarex  THE ZELOS IS AMAZING

Replying to my own post I Should have titled it
THE AMAZING ZELOS.
I cut my pic rail down , so the bell of my Spina Optics FFP 5 X 30 X 56 would fit then I just had to get out there , and sight it in. Took 3 shots then a 5 shot group about 1/4 dime size. Then the last 12 nailed everything I aimed at dead center. The Spina scope has a illuminated reticle , and I used it for the first time it was great.
