Taipan  Taipan Vets new role ... small bore pester extraordinaire !

Looks good! So do you have 3? Thought you had a gray one? Also looks like you have something between the shroud and front rail mount? Might just be your mount for the dope card but can't tell
The 10.3s have been giving me my best groups but I'm always looking for more accuracy. I will have to try some 8.4s now . My .177 shorty is a fun pester that's not overpowered , smooth and quiet.

Nice looking setup.
Dairyboy,
The Grey lam was ( Stock Only ) traded for the Red one ... same action. Yes Pic rail has a cover over the unused portion.
Headshots,
Agree in the @ 20fpe range 10.3's are generally my go too pellet .. go figure ?

AEA  100 Yard Accuracy from AEA Challenger PRO 30 Cal Long Barrel...

Thanks for the support! :)
This video was part 3 of 4. In the part 2 video on this rifle I shoot 5-shot groups at the 860ish fps and they shot really good. I'm sure the 940 to 960 fps would result in very accurate results. I wanted to show the viewers that this rifle and ammo combination seem to break the rules on accuracy for shooting pellets at 1,100 fps.
The Red Panda is made in the same factory that AEA is made. The RP has an AEA backbone. The rifle is the brainchild of Thayne Stewart and DonnyFL (Donny Du). The spec on the rifle are over the top. The rifle with no scope weights 17 pounds. Let me repeat that... 17 pounds out for the box. It has a solid Bull barrel that gives it such great accuracy. I have several videos on this rifles shooting 100 accuracy. I will be shooting it at Pyramyd Cup next week and at EBR in October.
This is the biggest backstory to Karma airguns that I have seen so far. They should do a proper story on their company.

Pest Patrol: DNT ThermNight TNC225R in Action!

What would you say the limitation is distance wise, using the thermal for animals in the squirrel or armadillo size? Can you make them out 40-50yds out? Or are you just getting a head signature? Also, do you have issue finding your quarry under 30yds with the day and night function given that they start at 5x?

I've been digging through videos on this item as I just recently ordered one and I've seen sheep that are easily identifiable at 325 yards.

So safe to assume it exceeds the effective range of pretty much anything on this forum.

Airgun ownership.

Should airguns come with a disclaimer… If a person is scared to change an O-ring… should they buy an Airgun?

Dave

Little did you know when you started this thread, that you would invoke such a response.

I will say that my two Anschutz .22 LR Rimfires require almost ‘no maintenance.’ No O-rings, no hammer springs, no regulators, no air leaks, no valve issues, etc. For that, I love to bring them to my range because I never worry about these issues. They always work and I love to shoot paper targets at distance for informal AGN N50 target challenges.

That said, I love air rifles for many of the obvious reasons which are well documented on this forum.

So, back to your question. Should you buy an air rifle if ‘ you are afraid to replace an O-ring?’

My intuition is that a new PCP owner needs to thoroughly understand what he/she is getting into with this hobby. Then, decide if you want to dip your toe in the water, or jump in!

I enjoy both hobbies, and accept my limitations for difficult AG repairs.

I like these! Crosman Premier...

Never tried them, thanks for the recommendation. Will have to try these out. I have a .22 Huntsman Regal unregulated. Awesome rifle. My first PCP. Shoots the 16 grain JSB/AA/FX pellets like a laser.

I used to go to Mammoth Springs all the time when I lived in Memphis. Great place to get out of Memphis and all that damn humidity.
Honestly I don't shoot much JSB except Hades. My Revere likes JTS dead center, GTOs, H&N sniper magnums, polymags, NSA 17.5gr slugs, and the crosmans. It does decent with CPHPs and Gamo red fires and does not like H&N or RWS superdome.

Crosman  Pistol Accuracy Goals?

You can make a factory 1322 trigger pretty good by just polishing the mating surfaces, using a lighter spring and adding a trigger shoe. Be careful not to lose the little ball bearing for the safety when you disassemble it though.

My own experience with Alliance Hobby wasn't good. I ordered some parts from him and then got an email back stating that he had received my order, but since his was a one man shop there might be delays in processing it. And then I never heard back from him again. I was never charged for anything, so it's not like he ripped me off, but it doesn't really make me want to try dealing with him again.
Thanks for the little ball bearing tip, I always lose them little balls,
And the rest of you guys with pistols for me it's all about hitting the can, I am not staking pellets with any of my pistols, I am out to kill the can, And if I do put some paper up to shoot all I have to do is hit the paper not the bullseye ,,

FX  FX Impact M4 - 700mm & 800mm question

I have ordered a m4 800 and I was intending to shoot 45 gr zan slugs at 1000 ish fps and I was wondering if I will need a slug liner
Its not needed but it is recommended, the twist rate of the slug liner provides best results for heavy slugs, you'll likely see improved accuracy with the slug liner in.

Snowpeak  Need Recommendations for a PCP Airgun for Hunting."

I will throw another recommendation out, and why. The Barra 250z. While it's oem is SPA, it is different from the M30c in that Barra spec'd the 250z to use a 7075 air cylinder, -much better! The barrel is not choked, 27", and 1 in 18" twist, good for slug shooting. It's not a plinker, but even turned up you'll get 20 shots anyway, and turned up numbers I've seen reported are close to 50fpe. This gun is long, especially once you add a suppressor. Stalking hunters will find this bad, over-watch hunters won't care, and might actually prefer it. I too, lately, have been finding it much easier to be accurate shooting longer guns. Just something to consider. I do have a P15 and they are a good deal, light, and highly modable. I have been using it more since getting a good tripod, something else to consider. Everything on your list is good, you just need to find the one that fits you and what you are going to be doing.

Diana  Diana 34 T01 Tune Kit Recommendations

I like to throw in a couple of extra seals .. so if you got to fit and take too much off or something like nick it or whatever goof could happen you got 2 more right there handy .. reordering a seal and pay the shipping suks ... You know you can always take off a bit from a seal but you can't put it back on ..lol..🥴

Anyway it's nice to have seals handy as needed not wishing you did ..

Maximum Pressure?

We're talking "AIR" guns while they do have limitations even tho some are pushing what that definition and limits are
As a tuner that has played with many valve types, plenum sizes & calibers, the amount of power that can be extracted from sub 2k pressures is nothing short of amazing.
Cothrin found this out as did JSAR and FX, having Uragan follow there R&D in Balance valve tech and SKOUT similar with a spool valve. While theoretically a balanced or spool valve does not make power than a conventional valve at equal pressure/s, the miens in which most balanced valves re-profile in a way the release of the plenum pressure at a VERY rapid rate due to there ease of opening, yet by design ( Not FX ) take the released pressure within the valve throat using it to force the valve closed again. This Spike we call a HIGH AMPLITUDE pulse that launches a projectile very hard. Due to generally shorter valve dwell ( Open duration ) the noise leaving muzzle is far less and total air consumtion can be tuned to be far less.
* Because these type valves Do Not require heavy hammers or heavy springs, guns using them cock easier, have less mechanical recoil/vibration and trigger mechanics are less straigned. This valve tech caters to HIGH OUTPUT uses and not needed or really wanted unless so.

So for subject of this thread .... super high pressures for the average air gunner ( Average a loose term ) simply is not nessessary to make the power that our target, sport or hunting air guns require ... IMO 250 bar or less is more that enough !!

Tall target test

Tall target tests are a great way to test a scope… they’re also a great way to get some erroneous information. It’s easy to blame the scope for human error in these types of tests.

You can’t measure the 50 yards with a LRF… you need EXACTLY 50 yards, so use a wheel or highly accurate laser device for construction.

You MUST have the rifle level, shoot across level ground, and use a plumb-bob when setting up the target to ensure that the vertical tracking is true to the y-axis.

I have not done a TT with an airgun… but I have done several, as well as a ton of lr field shooting, with very accurate .22lrs. There’s no better way to put an optic through its paces than running a brick of .22 through it and spinning the turrets for nearly every shot… I’d imagine the same would be true for a very accurate PCP.

Huben GK1

To be fair if you want the GK1 for max power then a regulator isn't the way forward.
But if you don't mind some non crazy yet still decent powers and each shots power to be pretty much identical, then the Huma kit is worth every penny.
Yes possibly you lose a tiny bit of air but the power consistency is amazing.
My Regulator is set to 125Bar (this is probably the lowest you can set it to in order for the gun to index correctly) and in a .25 calibre shooting at:
12fpe = 105 shots.
20fpe = 75 shots
30fpe = 34 shots
All with a power deviation of 1 (if that)

Obviously in Carbine form with a nice scope on it, power consistency is always a bonus and let's be honest, 30fpe is still a massive amount of power.
In the UK the power law for pistols is sub 6fpe
Rifles/Carbines is sub 12fpe

I visit Greece quite often where there are no power restrictions and that is where I shoot mine at 30fpe.

I hope that helps. 👍🏻

Hi ! I have a Huben GK1 V3 .22 without a regulator.
I wanted to know some information about the rate of fire with the Huma Air regulator. This question wasn't asked here, but I think the rate of fire is important for a pistol. I assume you have the Huma Air 70-165 bar regulator, right?
How many seconds does it take for the regulator to fill with air between each shot at 125 bar ? I'm considering getting one, but I'm afraid the rate of fire will become too low with a regulator.
