HW/Weihrauch  HW77 25mm piston vs. 26mm question

I shot 10 pellets through her for a quick test and she averaged about 670 fps for 13.5 ft. lbs with FX 10.3 pellets. After a tin of pellets, it should wear in a bit and get down towards 12 ft. lbs.
Not trying to be a smartass here, but a friendly heads-up—a 10.34g pellet at 670 fps gives you 10.3 ft-lbs of energy.

Glimpse of Invasive Iguanas

I feel like groundhogs are just as bad lol. A lot of places that we work are in golf courses, and that's where a lot of the bulk of iguanas are being removed from. As well as canals and whole communities.

Brain fart. I should've said gophers. We don't have groundhogs in the West... but they're both little furry critters that dig holes in golf courses and elsewhere so you can roll an ankle, close enough I guess. I watch those iguana hunting videos on YouTube, it's a free for all out there. Seen a couple guys deep frying them like turkey, people shooting them in canals, out of trees, everywhere.

Up where I live, we don't have ground squirrels or iguanas on the golf courses. We have Canada geese. I argue they are in the same league as iguanas. You'll know what I mean if you're a golfer and have stepped into geese s**t. Unfortunately, it's illegal to kill geese out of season. But that would be a great part time side gig!

We have those guys too, they poop the size of a small dog except there's always an entire carpet of it. I don't think it's legal to shoot them in most of the areas where they congregate even in season sadly. Nor do I think anyone would want to eat some waterfowl that were feeding at a metro LA lake!

donnyfl huben k1 moderator adapter?

Do you know if your 2020 K1 Huben belongs to the first generation of the K1 ? or the 2nd (the new one).
If it has the Lothar Walther barrel, it is firs generation, if it has the Chinese barrel, it’s the new one.
So, do you know which barrel your K1 rifle came with?
Please let us know.
according to kelly, 2nd gen. it’s from of the first few batches of 2nd gens the month they were released. it has the .251 magnetic non-rifled steel magazine. mine also has the non-magnetic chrome-like no-choke barrel. it shoot slugs and pellets out past 100 yards accurately.

Umarex  Moderator Insert for Umarex Notus?

Ok. The way I read the post I quoted, when you said "chopped off the moderator" in my head I thought you were saying you removed all of the stock one from the barrel.

I guess I just assumed that. To be clear, I'm just trying to learn and not be argumentative. Sometimes it's hard for me to wrap my head around what I read.

Actually, you are not wrong but there are TWO moderators that TS makes, the insert and the Long John. The insert is just that, it inserts into the empty moderator housing. The LJ is threaded to 1/2X20 UNF and is threaded onto the barrel of the Notos AFTER the moderator housing has been removed and the barrel has been threaded.

Two different setups, 2 different moderators, choices...

Gamo  Gamo Swarm Magnum scraping sound during charge

I already bought some JSB 15.89 domed. I am using Gamo red fires to sight in the scope and get familiar with the gun. I'll look into the Crosmans. Any particular one?

These are usually found at big box stores for under $10. Either the domed or the hollow points can work well if you win the barrel lottery. JSB's will never go to waste.

I have heard these are good as well but I can never find them.

I have a few tins of each, they are good for plinking or practice if nothing else. I was getting them for $6 a tin at one time. My Huben eats them like candy. Other rifles hate them but for the price it is worth trying. Always fun trying to find the "magic" pellet for the rifle.

FX  fx carbon fiber liner sleeve

My impression is that the carbon fiber sleeve is intended to be used with the barrel bushings (barrel rings)
The carbon fiber stiffens the barrel, and the rings center the barrel in the shroud
Takena look at the 2 items below from Cape Fear Airguns, and see what you think

Lovely expansion!

That is phenomenal weight retention and expansion! How far was the shot?
Chip shot..20yds. Slug started at 1025fps. And according to ChairGun still going around 951 at 20yds with 20.1fpe. The retention may have been better but I had to grab the skin around the slug to make the cut. Kind rough trying to avoid the fleas 🫤

108yrds and 110yd shots

Apparently no liners are currently available. I just have one of the older 600mm barrels that actually had a 500mm liner in it (weird and funny how fx did that). I have seen some in the past. Any luck with the superior heavy liners?

Allen
No one has the superior liners on their own, they will only sell them with the tensioner kit, but I believe the heavy twist is a 1:16 so ot would shoot the 16gr slugs phenominally and should shoot the 20gr pretty good, especially id you're at a high altitude location where it behaves like a 1:14 twist

Air Arms  Pro-Sport

Going to give this a try again, I think I tried it before but it didn't work as well for me. When I cock the 97K I pull down with a under hand grip, so I'm using my bicep.
I hold the gun sidewise with the butt placed into the crease at the top of the leg , then pull the underlever to the side holding the gun steady with my hand just in front of the trigger around the fore stock .

FX  What would cause a leak from this hole on my Dreamline?

I'm experiencing the same issue with a Dreamline Classic, leaking from the weep hole near the AMP regulator. Looses about 20 bars overnight, so pretty slow.

View attachment 502409

I've changed out the regulator and replaced the o-rings #71 & 72, still leaking. It doesn't help that the FX parts drawings don't show all the variations of Dreamlines that have been released.
The gun I'm working on has an aluminum collar with a skinny o-ring inside the regulator tube. There's also a plastic disc with a couple of holes in the bottom of the reg tube. Haven't figured out how to get the disc out yet so I can see what's going on behind it.

I love working on FX guns.

I can't say for sure, but based on the position of the weep hole, I'd look inside the regulator. Don't worry about looking for a particular o-ring. See it? Replace it. When looking for leaks in mine, I inadvertently made more by reusing the seals I came across. As for the metal ring, yours looks a lot thicker than mine. That thin o-ring is also something I've never seen before. Here's what I have:

Oh, and take pictures of your belleville washer set-up when you take the reg apart.

Umarex  Hair trigger & lost 1st stage

All fixed. Thank you very much for taking the time to help. I took it apart as suggested. Found the secondary set screw on the "horizontal lever" ( dont know its part name) had loosened its way out. The result was a premature movement to firing. A simple readjustment & some lock-tight. All is good again.

FX  FX STREAMLINE REGULATOR QUESTION

Sadly that PDF only gives you an idea of what a regulator is 'kind of' set at by color code on the regulator.
You can get some information from this video
https://www.airgun101.com/fx-airguns/video/fx-masterclass-regulator-maintenance-amp-rebuild

I'd love to have that Regulator tester as the Huma tester I have does not work with the stock FX regulator.
I may see if I can have parts made to work.

Now I do have a RED color (140 Bar) Streamline Regulator if you want any info on it. I run a Huma in the Streamline now.
Your offer of info off the red Streamline regulator is most appreciated, @Privaterr.
I will pass on that for now.
The regulator in my 25 caliber is working properly
And I got into this thread to gather info should it ever need work.
A Huma reg for it is a very good idea.
How is it working out for you?
Also, did you install a plenum along with it, or just swap one reg for the other?
Edward

Air Venturi  Avenge-X .177 High Setting Round 3

I have been continued to test pellets in my new Avenge-X in .177. I have found some nice low power setting rounds. These shoot at the 0.50" at 50-yards level. I am not sure I can expect a lot more than that here. So now I am looking to find something that works on the "high" setting. Note I am not tweaking the rifle. While it is highly tweakable, indeed intended to be tweaked, I wanted to see how I could do with it as it came new from the box. As usual it goes into my video diary.

Avenge-X .177 PCP Pellet testing Round 3: 50-yards

Benjamin Match 10.5gr (Sorted)
JSB Monster Redesign 13.43 (862fps SD 3.68)
JSB Beast 16.2 (802fps SD 7.42)

Avenge-X Base Model Power Setting High
Vortex Crossfire II 6 to 18
Bald Eagle Front Res
tSinclair Bag RiderP
rotektor #13 Rear Bag
Custom Bag Rider
Air Pressure was kept 3000 psi or higher throughout.

The weather was 88-degrees Fahrenheit with about 80% humidity. There was a slight 0 to 5 mph wind. It varied in direction but was largely a cross wind.

The rifle is stock, and there are no tweaks to the gun. The bottle started the day at full capacity. I took a couple of shots to sight in the rifle. The shots all remained on the regulator. The rifle was kept with a total pressure of 3000 psi or higher. The regular remained about 1800 psi.

The best shooting was the JSB Monster Redesign 13.43 grains. The Benjamin performed OK but had some looping.

Do I Have a Scope Problem?

Lol... If I shot all that at 20y with my HW I'd be ok with it .. lol
.. 🥴. I'd be blaming me , my hold or the wind ..
I've been doing the same. I've kept working on it because my instinct was telling me that the gun was great. I never felt like i was throwing those pellets all over. This card makes it clear to me that it's not me or the gun.

Air Venturi  Avenge x rattling

Glad you came to this conclusion.

Really the most you should do, if you ever do tear it down, is, as I mentioned in a pm to you, measure the free flight via the slot where the trigger/sear enters. Optimal free flight distance is 1-1.2mm, and if it were to be sub ~2mm I wouldn't bother messing with it.

Until then, enjoy your gun, and don't worry about a shim turning it into a leaf blower if you do happen to someday reduce the free flight to a degree... :ROFLMAO:

I really love that gun. Thank you all for all the answers and help. I really appreciate it

Zelos actual weight

Thats funny when I just looked at website it showed 6.95#, guess they cant make up their mind. Never hear of manufacturer including weight of pellets in actual weight. Airgun Depot probably put lighter weight to help sell more guns. Pyramyd didnt even have weight when I looked.

Where did you see the 6.95# on umarex? Strange indeed!

*edit*
Oh, wait, I see it now, .22 cal says 6.94 and .25 cal says 6.74...
