FX  Problem with FX CF Sleeves

I just now noticed this post. The carbon that is the carbon fiber is from acrilic yarn that gets exposed over a series of ovens set at higher and high temps. I believe the final temperature is around 1800f. There will be no oxidation happening after that. When it ends up in your lungs it don't leave very easily and it won't break down. The resin will but not the fiber.
Great post! I wasn’t aware of this. I thought all carbon could be oxidized…..still don’t understand the chemistry of this, though!
Must be heated in atmosphere without oxygen. Can diamonds burn, though?

FX  Saber Tactical Impact rail - why?!

I think the idea was to provide an option to help support the barrel assembly without really clamping down on it. I think its a decent system, especially if you pair that with a homemade tensioned shroud. Being able to slide the little delrin supports might also give you some harmonic tuning too, but overall the system wont improve accuracy. I have one for a Maverick build and wanted it for poi shifts while hunting. Its not done yet but I like the rail.

Air Venturi  Waterfowl?

I would approach the state game department based on FPE at the traditional PB 40 yd. distance. I'm sure the data is there ad nauseum for pellet energy at distance for PB shotguns, in fact I have run across those numbers. If we can deliver the same energy with air there is truly no difference, well other than the fact we tend to be quieter about it. :) It really is about the energy. They want clean kills, as do we. Heck I put a red dot on my modern muzzleloader for deer, they can accept change.

Airforce  long distance target shooting airforce Condor 22 vs Seneca eagle claw 22 vs????

well I am waiting on a Donny FL from Montana airguns.. should be here this week. the SS is ok but the regular Condor is way too loud.. I didn't think it would be anymore than a 22lr but it sounds more like a 22wmr.. hopefully the Donny will quiet it down and then I will have a long distance gun.. if it all works out, I'll pass on the good deal on the SS Condor 22 caliber to someone else..if not I'll just keep the Condor SS 22 caliber.

Other  Springfield 1911 disassembly?

Has anyone figured out how to remove the slide on the Springfield Armory 1911 (blowback)?
Apparently it's slightly different from the real thing
Ahh, got it. Just had to press a bit harder on a locking pin. Not much to it, really easy to work on.
Nice all-metal simulator for the real thing .... same controls, similar weight, blowback action, etc.
Not going to win any accuracy awards (it's a BB gun, after all), but I don't think that's the primary motivation here.
Pulled it all apart and greased/oiled the hell out of it and now the action is smooth as glass. Great fun.

For a tinkerer, this thing is a gift. There are numerous straightforward ways to tighten up the action and accuracy if desired.
But for now, it's plinking time :)

Vector Veyron

I once called Leupold to ask them if their VX-Freedom Rimfire scope would hold up on a springer airgun. The rep informed me with a chuckle that the Freedom line are all tested on 300 win mags, so they should be good. I felt a little silly. :ROFLMAO:

I have used a Veyron 3-12 FFP on my HW97k without issue, but only for a short period, so can't speak to longevity of doing so.

That probably doesn't help you much. I mostly just wanted to share the Leupold story :)

New Crosman M1 Carbine full auto

My son has a full auto Crosman that looks like a Mac 10. I bet it's the same action and loading design as yours.

It's a lot of fun to break beer bottles with. It shoots hard and is surprisingly accurate. Its not easy to point though. I thought it would be much better if it was in a proper stock with a little longer barrel so you could control your shots better. And a proper sight.

I think that's pretty much what you have there. And only a few bucks more.

The only issue we had was it freezing up if we shot it too fast. The trigger would get funny and it would stop running. If you give it a couple minutes to thaw out it works great again.
I’ve got a Crosman MPW and an Umarex MP40 as well and those operate on a different design with the cylinders and valves contained within the magazines. It makes for a more realistic reproduction, but also for some very pricey magazines that are a bit of a pain to load.

What they used on this M1 carbine is less realistic, but way better in terms of ease of use and price. This one is also the most accurate of any of my BB guns. If they could somehow power it with an AEG system I’d say it was the perfect BB gun.

The Umarex MP40 is also very good, and very realistic, but it uses expensive magazines and has poor sights.

New interest in airguns.

AEA  Big bore tuning

I own 3.

1. HP SS MAX 357 has had no issues.

2. SF .25 is a wonky design with cheap mags that break if you look at them wrong.

3. Challenger elite .51. Came with a horribly defective barrel. Returned for another which had the exact same issue. AEA refused to acknowledge or repair the problem. I made a new barrel for it and now it's great.

It's a gamble.

Bargain block now loaded with Akela and Kratos

Explain? Are you saying you can’t run slugs out of the .177 or .22 Akela? I have many customers that would disagree. As a matter of fact I even sold .177 guns that were slug certified from me and gave the slug it shot.
The .22’s loved 218 diameter at 21g. Even the Cayden shot them well.
Most people are looking for high power when they shoot slugs. That's not an easy feat on this platform in stock form.

Will they shoot a specific slug well, yeah most likely. My 22 akela I had did like NSA 20.2 grain in 218 I believe, but it would shot gun most other slugs I tried. They were also slower fps than a pellet of comparable weight.

New Commercial Grade KYL Targets

@bfloyd1095 Are you sure you're not thinking of the cheapo Chinese knockoff of our original KYL Midway is selling for Birchwood Casey?

People still confuse them all the time because they use the picture from our website back in 2017.
They even copied much of our sales copy from our website in 2017 and put it on their box.

Anyway, we've NEVER used anything other than laser cut USA AR500 for our paddles. Theirs weights 8 lbs, ours weighs 15lbs there is no comparison.

We have not used plastic spacers for many years, but they still do.

We did have an issue years ago when we still welded the paddles to the swivels (with high nickel wire)
but this has long since been corrected with our weld free design.

If I'm wrong or you ordered years ago before the fix hit me up at shootingtargets7.com and get me an order number. Everything we sell has a lifetime warranty (when used as directed) and I'll replace anything that may have broken for you at no cost.

I Have Finally Decided On my Hunting Setups,,, Took 8 Months

Like it says, I started my hunting air gun collection 8 months ago, after buying the 54 Diana AKP. I have carefully selected 7 more springers to that collection since. and yes, only springers! That 54 AKP is the most accurate, and hardest hitting springer I own, and out to 50 yards on par with the PCP I had, my last! But as well as it shoots, and as hard as it hits, 22 fpe. it did not make my hunting trio!! I have many option, and all good hunting rifles, but this trio over the past 3 months has proven the best I have for each situation I will use an air gun for. These are in my opinion, the best springers out there for their intended hunting method.

All equipped with Grov-Tec sling studs to attach varios slings for transport, and Hawke 4-12x40 Air Max optics, my choice for a perfect hunting scope. With the two used for night hunting setup with the same Thrunite cr123 powered Neutron flashlight in 1" rings, and mounted to the scope tube with a Wicked Lights Picatinny Acc mount.

First of for my squirrel and rabbit hunting, the Beeman R10 in 177 caliber, has proven it's worth time and time again. I also thought about the HW77K in .177 also, with it's excellent accuracy, hard hitting Vortek HO tune kit giving 860 fps with the H&N 8.64 gr. But the unbelievable accuracy and energy, du to its J.T. Tune and over 20 oz. lighter, the R10 was the choice. This gun shoots the AA diablo's in 8.4 grains to 915 fps, and will group 10 shots inside a dime at 35 yards when I do my part, repeably! This makes it my choice for any field game up to rabbits out to 40 to 45 yards. pretty flat accurate, and enough power to take bigger pest to about 25 yards with head shots. My day hunter, and no Illumination required.

Then for light duty barn pesting for rats and birds and the such, with some around the house dusk to dawn small pesting chores, my light little HW50s in also in .177 caliber. enough power @ 800 fps with 8.64 grn. H&N FTT for 10 to 25 yard shots, accurate to fault as well with dime sized 10 shot groups out to 25 yards and setup with the lighting acc mentioned above. I picked the HW50 over my HW30 for this setup because it offered about 150 fps more for the added 2" and additional weight still under 8 lbs. still well balance with pretty easy cocking. I acquired this rifle in June and have been very happy with it's ability to maintain zero, and accuracy, so after deciding to set this one up for these hunting tasks, I have a Maccari Hornet tune kit in route. I had thought about the smaller HW30s I also own, and love to shoot, even more than this. But for hunting, and maybe 25 yards in low light I chose the 50s with it's added power in case of larger pests inside 25 yards like possum or skunks, which I consider this marginal for.

Lastly I setup the only .22 caliber I chose for my hunting setups, my L.E HW77K, not as accurate as the 54 Diana, but smaller, less powerful, and not that much lighter @10lbs 4oz. but much better balanced, with ample power with the 14.66 H&N FTT @ 710 fps. It made my choice for raccoon opossum skunk and other night time nuisance species. This rifle is also professionally tuned by J.T. from Pennsylvania and is as smooth as butter, and accurate with 10 shot dime sized groups out to 25 to 30 yards, plenty for larger targets and ample power for this type hunting. With the Neutron illumination mounted on this rifle for dusk to dawn larger pest control and it is perfectly capable of even fur hunting using dogs. Not to mention it is dressed in my favorite stock with the Green Laminate that screams TAKE ME HUNTING! How could I not choose it for my 22 caliber rig.

I am very satisfied with these rifles, for the task I set them up for. in the past 8 months I have had plenty of time to evaluate each, and chose each one for the strengths they have. over other excellent choices I had in my collection. I have made my mind up very well with the R10 and HW50s for their duties, but am seriously thinking of adding a 95 in 22 before I rule out any other choice for the HW77K, as my choice for larger pests and fur bearing critters. I have great backups for any one of these rifles, but I feel these three offer me the best choice of the guns I currently own at what I intend to use each one for.
Nice collection of spring guns, and a great overview on the merits of each for hunting. I have been hunting with springers for years, going after squirrels, quail, rabbits and grouse. For years, my main hunter was my .177 hw97k. But even with a sling, that thing is a porker. Now I hunt with either my hw50s or hw30s, both in .177. My hunts always involve a lot of walking, so a lighter gun really helps. As long as I keep my shots inside of 30 yards, power is not an issue. Both have plenty, and accuracy is far more important.
