FX  Feet are wet once more with a Fx Dreamline Tac-Compact build & mod

Conclusion as to the WHY I've sold off all my previous FX's !! ... POI shift every damn time you seem to handle the AG or fiddle with it

Ok enough of these Soda Straw barrels !!! Gutted the entirety of barrel machining up a take off 17" cut to 14" ( 355mm ) .177 barrel from a LG110 STEYR to fit down within the brass dual port barrel thimble. All done the slip fit a sizzle fit only requiring a few drops of loctite 545 to bond & seal to the OEM brass thimble & threaded shroud mount to effectively secure it.
All the previous shroud mods adjusted to accommodate the added length from the OEM 300 mm to 355 mm barrel.

Over on the chrony the previous 900 fps was now 965 fps requiring the PW to be set on 3. Muzzle report fell further as efficiency gains utilized via a tad more barrel length.

On Paper .. HOLE IN HOLE at the 34Y zero range, Set rifle out in sun for a hour or so @ 117* metal/ optics temp ... very close & acceptable POI :) .. Bring into shop and cool off, knock it around mildly, take off scope & reattach and then re-shoot with same POi :love:

Now I'm likely 1/2 pound heavier, but consistent and unchanging accuracy rules the day !!! Thinking we're finding improvement there !

DRS wows

Great point. And anyone that took the time to view the "Swaging" video a few months back. Cut it into smaller Pieces. Tont try to pound a 24" Dowel in. Cut it into smaller Pieces. Tap slowly and not on the end of a 2 foot long Dowel. Like Archie Bunker said "Patience is a Virgin". LOL Yeah. I'm old and remember stuff.

Thanks Longshot, I am new to this site and not great with apps like this. If possible, can you call me. I have 1 quick question? If so, I will post my cell after you reply. Sure appreciate it.

Do not post your cell number, especially not after you just announced you want to buy an expensive gun. Good grief.

Read the rules here, it should answer your questions:

Bushing for Harrells tuner / update..mounted one up 😎

I have a Harrells barrel tuner coming for a .719 LW barrel on a RAW. The Tuner comes at .750. Difference of .031, so I think I need shim stock /bushing of .015 x ..719 or flat stock of .015 x 1.438 length .? where would I get such a bushing made up ? or could I just use flat shim stock & wrap barrel end at muzzle. I think these Harrells tuners slip on about an inch over muzzle. ? I called Harrels before I predered one & they said just have a bushing made up. There minimum is .750 so no changing that.
The last time I talked to Harrell’s, I was told they would make a bushing to fit my barrel.

Akula on a Leshiy Classic?

He didn’t say there was a .357 Akula… he just sent a link to the smaller bore version and said “that’s what you need”. My guess is he wasn’t really paying attention to the details as he’s probably busy AF.

The STO only comes in .22/.25/.30 and they aren’t scheduled to make another run of .30 yet, so, yeah, I can’t just buy a couple of .30s and experiment with them with a drill.

Another user here that will go mentor now, reached out privately and he‘s helping me with another method of building an STO-styled shroud insert that is 3D printed for the .357 barrel which I think might solve the problem altogether 🙏

Not a lot of people have a .357 barrel for an L1, so I’m imagining I’m on my own with this for the most part which is ok. I have my reasons for wanting an L1 with this bore size.

Thanks for taking an interest and offering some perspective 🤙🏻

Awesome. I was going to mention the 3D print route. Please post an update on how it works.

What speed is your .357 shooting? What projectile?

New Workbench Accessory from DonnyFL

Got my DonnyFL Maintenance Mat today. Initial observation is very good. It is not a rigid mat with the soft high temp tray in the center, the entire mat is a soft rubbery material. I get the impression that it will be durable.
@DonnyFL Will oils, lubricants, etc clean off the mat easily? There is no paperwork with the mat, like care instructions or anything.
How should the mat be cleaned?
Are there any substances we should avoid coming in contact with the mat?
So far, a nice addition to my bench!!

The orange mat in the center can be flipped over. The side shown has a course texture. The other side ( see DonnyFL's orig post ) has a different pattern and is a smoother texture.

My indepth knowledge of cant:

2nd Class Petty Officer Bakel.....you scum bag..... I see you aim that rifle one more time with a cant and you miss the Bullseye....... I will drop kick that U.S. tax payer's weapon so far up your arse the flash arrester will become a permanent breath-mint.

Knowledge gained from being stupid enough to show up (as the only sailor) to a Marine dominated rifle team try out.

P.S. at least 100 variations of the"F" word had to be edited out of that quote. You take the "F" word out of a Marine Gunnery Sargent's vocabulary and they absolutely cannot speak.
