Yet another selfless contribution to the FT and AGN community

Do you think that 2 shots/target should be mandatory at the Nationals?

Scott, That has always been the way nationals have been run in the 17 that I have attended. When you change the rules to favor one class over another, one might be on a slippery slope. We all know why but it could of been accomplished differently. I have never had a problem with the WFTF class and don't now but when it comes down to making it more of a challenge for the Hunter class to participate in a AFFTA National I draw a line. That's only my feelings but obviously I am not alone. I think the problem has been remedied satisfactorily. I hope we can all learn from this mistake going forward.

High pressure "O" rings

The rings that came out of the gun were square in shape and badly decomposing (brittle), but I ordered some from The Pellet Shop and they appear to be round like regular o rings. I am puzzled. I even looked at them with a strong magnifying glass and they are just round. There was some oil in the area of the rings which may account for their condition. Thanks for the responses.

Legal air rifle in Canada?

I think we spoke about these questions.

Where are you planning to travel? Around Toronto I can tell you 5-6 stores you can walk in to buy a sub 500 fps - as a visitor to Canada not having a PAL/RPAL license, or you can ask your hosts to sponsor you at the counter ...
Otherwise what to buy low power I can't help, I don't know anything about those.

Other  Pcp air rifle thats legal in Canada

Mr. J being as how all 3 game animals you mentioned have been taken with standard springer airguns right down to slingshots, I'd suggest you decide ranges you're looking at and as suggested check out Wes' site. I'm in BC and bought an Artemis from him. He's easy to deal with and quite willing to answer any questions you have.
.22 is probably the way to.go, having a flatter trajectory.

FX  Grub screw on Dreamline power adjuster

On the Dreamline, there's a grub screw on side opposite the power adjuster. It fits into a slot on the power adjuster assembly and prevents unwanted movement. I'm talking about the small screw on the bottom of this picture:

resized_IMG_3317.jpg

Should I be screwing this thing in until it bites into the power adjuster or back it off a bit? I'm just worried the grub screw will back out over time. Maybe some Loctite 222?

Thanks.

Air Venturi  Air Venturi AVENGER Bullpup 2 (Gen 2) is here! (Video Review)

20240925_120138.jpg

Hey guys. A classic has now been made even better! Here is the Gen 2 Air Venturi AVENGER Bullup. From the comments I can see the YT viewers were impressed. However, to the AGN crowd, I can say: It gets better than that! I didn't even tune the gun...so here is my review video. Sorry I couldn't have done better on this one. I love this thing though! Tons of fun to shoot. Enjoy the Air Venturi AVENGER Bullpup 2.

2 Starlings only? WTF

A short video to post where I only got 2 starlings in this visit to the Starlings Farm. Farmers were busy unloading and storing chopped corn feed when I showed up. Trucks load of feed were coming and going so I couldn't setup at my usual spot. I stayed and watched for a bit to see giant tractor pushing and compacting these feed to a giant mount. It was fascinating to watch.

Lots of starlings around and I saw some at another spot so I decided to setup there away from the feed area. I thought I would have some opportunity to shoot a few starlings but unfortunately I only shot two and missed the first one. They just didn't want to return to this particular area. This was definitely the slowest starling shooting day for me. But it was a nice sunny day so I still enjoyed being out there with my airgun. Hopefully I can get back to some regular shooting next week.

Enjoy.

N/A  ??????????? P-rod or 1701

the price difference is close to $1000,get the Brocock if that is not a problem,it won't be much more accurate than the 1701 or 1720 until after 25or more yards; but it can shoot much farther more accurately and probably more fun.Butt if your shooting less than25 yards you get the Brocock because you are an addict,(y):ROFLMAO:oh it is a repeater also, yep then there is the RAW pistol,it never ends
:ROFLMAO:(y)

Gray at dusk

The mini tac got another gray, a younger male this time, just before sunset.

Took my shot right as he dipped back down off his rock perch for some corn, and hit him in between the shoulders and it ran back to his right hip, just under the skin.

1000010232.jpg

He flopped and I thought he was dead, then it sprang back to life and up the tree he went. I found this one pretty easy and took a follow up mercy shot.

That hit left front and exited thru the right side lung.

He had an interesting pattern, like racing stripes.

That last pic you can see the 1st pellet under the skin on the right hip.

FX  Dreamline Compact Tuning

Figured I should update... I did test more pellets and at more range. I'm sticking with the JSB 13.4 as most consistent and getting enough power to do decent in Hunter FT. I've been through a few tins and happy enough with them that I ordered 8 more tins. I do have some AirArms pellets to test sometime. If I make it to the range tomorrow morning I'll test those out.
I'm really happy with this setup and the only limitation for me is that I do need to do a fill to make it through a FT match, but carrying a small bottle covers that.

Custom stock- after first oil treatment

What is linea oil? What is Benar?
Sorry, these products are not easy to translate, so I took a chance and used the Norwegian name for it.
Google translate says:
Linolje = linseed oil
Benar olje = benar oil according to google (but obviously wrong?) This particular oil is for outdoor use, often on wooden boats.

Edit: What Manabeknives says.
