What’s the scope on my pistol?

It looks like a weaver K4 (steel tube). Is it a single dot or single post ?
You are right! just stand cross hairs. This combo was enjoyed for about three hours. A hundred dollar pistol( Midway birthday big discount free shipping) and and old like new scope were the perfect combo. A little fuzzy at close range, however after a short time it was no problem. Hardly a miss at 12 to over 20 yards. It's amazing how much fun a low cost set up can be! Charles

Who has deleted the front reg on their FX Impact M3

My .177 M3 was purchased used and was set at 150/70 (1st reg/2nd bar) which is an 80 bar d/p across the 2nd reg. Plenum pressure would have to drop 10 bar (about 5 shots) before the 2nd reg responded.

Set the regs to 120/70 reducing the d/p to 60 bar and the 2nd reg responded every 1 to 2 shots.

My used 30 cal M3 came tuned at 160/150, a 10 bar d/p across the 2nd reg, and the plenum pressure would vary between 160 and 150 bar per shot with a 1 minute wait between shots.

Knowing the max allowed plenum pressure is just 170 bar I set the regs to 150/130, a 20 bar d/p and the plenum pressure would vary from 130 to 160 bar per shot.

Set the reg pressures to 150/110 , a 40 bar d/p across the 2nd reg and the 2nd reg held 110 to 115 bar per shot after a 1 minute reset.

I am rebuilding the 30 cal and replacing both regulators.

After researching the Spring Disc regulator data on SPIROL.com , I think , but am not certain, I can get a more linear response out of the 2nd regulator with a constant d/p instead of a variable d/p caused by changing bottle pressure.

Air Rifle Coyote

Curious… what do you guys do with the carcass? I recently called in a coyote to about 20 yards using a squirrel distress call. I put my crosshair on the head but thought to myself, what am I going to do to it. If nothing then I shouldn’t kill it. I then took a step forward and stepped on a branch and it jumped and looked at me then ran off. I just kinda feel uncomfortable taking a life with no justification behind it…

Had better luck this AM -

It's actually a modified Fortitude tube, but pretty sure a Maximus tube would work as well. You only have drill two holes for the forward breech screws, and the P-rod rear end cap takes care of the rear screws.

The BSA is needing some work. It was pretty twangy when I got it, and it seemed like the safety was not working correctly, so I removed it from the stock, thinking I could get some moly or Euro tar on the spring, but no go. I put it back together, but now it won't fire! Had to take it back out of the stock and a trip the sear manually. I even tried backing out the one trigger adjustment screw, but it made no difference. LET ME BE CLEAR - I am not casting any aspersions - in the future, would have no issues doing any kind of deal with you Doc!

lol - not trying to make you sorry for asking, as I have a soft spot for these little carbines. My plan is to get it to Dave Slade at some point, then all will be AOK!
That sucks man! I thought you had already got it sorted by Dave. It was definitely twangy. I couldn't shoot it straight to save my life! I thought it was just me since I never shoot springers.

Let me know how it turns out after Mr. Slade works his magic!

What were your first experiences handling a gun?

I first shot a bb gun when I was too young to remember the event. I got a model 25 then a 760 and wore them out.

I got my shooters training patch (orange) from NRA youth training and carried my Marlin bolt .22lr in a sock to elementary school in the 6th grade for squirrel hunting after school.

I have had all of my kids shoot at 4 years old, the single shot .22 I learned on.

They all understood the consequences of discharging a firearm.

Half have guns, half don't. I'll have single shot trays in my Notos for the kids/grandkids this weekend for our fall fest.

Prizes for hit targets and good safety discipline.

Short hunt AA S510 XS .177

Way to go! A short hunt beats no hunt, glad to see you're feeling good enough to hit the woods again.

Sweet looking rifle too, also makes me feel good to see someone else using a Bushnell AO scope.
Steve I like Bushnell scopes, eye box on this is a bit small but makes you have consistent cheek placement. They are bright/clear in the woods.

10% Discount on New Oneleaf NV500 Scope through October 10th, 2024

Nice!! Hope to see more reviews soon. Your channel is quickly becoming my favorite. I noticed in my nv400 manual that if you put brightness and contrast on 50% it acts auto. Who knew. Guess I should read that stuff instead of trying to figure it out myself.
Wow - that is something I did not know either. :)

Career  QD Adapter for Career II 707 Fill Probe ?

I'm looking to find a QD adapter for the original Career II 707 fill probe that I currently use on a manual hand pump & scuba yoke.

I now have a GX CS3 compressor to fill the 707.

I'm wondering what the thread size is on the fill probe ?

The QD adapter that Pyramyd Air sells (Air Venturi Male QD, 1/8" BSPP Female) female end is too small to screw on.

Anyone know if there is an adapter available and what the thread size is ?

I do have a fill probe from Trajectron that works, but would also like an adapter for my original fill probe.

Here's some photos...

Is airgun interest going away?

2016, 2018, and 2020 were probably some of the biggest years for airgunning and 2/3 of those were an election year...basically 2016-2020 was peak airgunning territory, so seeing a decline from that peak gives the perception that airgun interest is going away, because...well it has compared to those golden years, before product over-saturation and inflation set in.

Today there are easily 20 $2,000-$2,500 pcp options, if you wanna dabble you better have deep pockets, where as 8 years ago you had a handful of options at that price point, and your pockets need not be as deep.

How does the HW 30S compare to the HW 50S? 0.22 versus 0.25?

The Weihrauch HW95 Luxus is looking pretty good. Would it be better in a 0.25 or 0.22? In a 0.20 or 0.177, I think I would get too many pass-throughs on small critters but, I am open to hearing differing thoughts. All 4 seem to be listed as 20J which is 14.75ft/lb so reasonable thump for critters in general.

Krale shows only the 0.177 and 0.22 and AoA shows all 4 calibers as a pre-order with them being ~$100 more as well.

I have a .20 caliber HW95 Luxus, great rifle in beech. For pesting, I vote for .22 caliber. Pellets go from 11 grains all the way up to 34 grains. Lightweight wadcutters would really put the smack down.
