Important Information and Ideas for Sellers and Buyers of Airguns

Daystate made a custom fit gun case for their Wolverine Sapphire BUT failed to provide adequate protection to prevent shifting - resulting in a loss of a $3200. Airgun, because it rode on the muzzle end with less than 1” of closed cell foam in front. That wore through quickly and the first ape to drop it nose down deformed the shroud and ooooh well. So as nice as a hard case is to prevent side wall damage the gun must be packed to prevent either end from shifting - they have to be secured in the middle.

Those Daystate and Brocock custom-fitted Styrofoam-lined boxes INSIDE A WELL-FITTING SECOND CARDBOARD SLEEVE are the best-bang-for-the-buck factory packaging I've seen. Unfortunately the less than 1” of closed cell foam in front of the muzzle is the weak link. And apparently the more incompetent the shipping-company delivery-driver, the better his (or her) nose becomes for sniffing out weak links in packaging.🐵

I've received air pistols damaged in shipping that were shipped in FOAM-LINED HARD-PLASTIC GUN CASES inside a cardboard box sleeve that the muzzle blew right through the end of ALL that packaging when an ape dropped it end-first onto pavement. Yes, the seller is a lawyer. And yes, when I attempted to educate him how to properly package to avoid damage he cut me off with proclamations about how well he packages. He then put the pistol inside a soft-cloth sleeve inside the otherwise would've-been-adequate-packaging; thereby rendering the otherwise would've-been-adequate-packaging totally ineffective.🥴

When I have the correct Daystate or Brocock packaging for a gun I'm shipping, I use it... but always reinforce the weak link enough to make it no longer a weak link (that apes can smell as easily as they can burning cannibis).

Coyote within 50yards

Thanks I'm in Southern California high desert. Was thinking a 22lr within 50 yards but figured a airgun would be alot safer with some neighbors close by probably 500 yards .
Didn't even think of arrows didn't know some air rifles could shoot them
I wouldn't use a .22lr on a coyote, note I haven't shot a coyote...yet. BUT if you absolutely want to drill it through the head a .17 HMR will leave a heck of a mark easily at 125 yards. Not as much fun as a air gun though but way cheaper.

.30 FX Crown MKii Cal change

I shoot 30 caliber hybrids at 1054fps our a 28inch tj barrel. I idea of accuracy is rugged hole 5 Shor groups at 100 yards. I've not been able to get the hybrid to do that at 900 and 980fps. Your idea of accuracy and mine may be different. I have a 700mm 1in22 twist liner in 30 caliber for my impact.

Umarex  Is Your Notos Upgraded or Out the Box?

I have way too many Notos rifles and still it continues to grow, lol. I do keep one completely stock for base line comparison. I do provide feedbacks to companies and encourage them to incorporate some of this mods for safety, ergonomics and performance. I have mutual NDA's with 4 different companies. No I'm not going to get rich out of this, but I also learn and enjoy this hubby immensely.

I like the pistols.
I would turn one into a pistol if I could do it.
But I definitely do not have the skills to shorten barrels and tubes.

Tulsa's FT Match is this Saturday, Oct 12 with a spooo-oky spin on it! Read on!

OK, we have a REALLY fun event planned for our match Saturday, October 12th so be sure to closely read the following.

The mad scientists in Tulsa have broken out the old chemistry set and cooked something special for Halloween. It will be FUN!

Costumes are welcome. No, "Field Target Shooter" is not a costume. (At least bring a mask as photos will be taken)- but not required.

Here’s the plan:

Field Target Golf Style.
We have 30 targets on 15 lanes, one shot per target and you MUST drop the target or die trying (max 4 shots per target) so a perfect score will be 30, Max score will be 120.
It's the low score that wins this one here folks!
Scorecards will record the number of shots to drop each near and far target. X's & 0's will not be used.
The Standing and kneeling lanes will have larger KZ’s this month (Praise the Lord). Bring extra pellets (unless, of course, you think you're somethin' special) – Air tanks will be provided for our “out-of-town” friends. If you need more than a tank of air, (and the bad head gasket can be replaced) a compressor will be on site to refill tanks for $5 per fill. (thank you Dave and Mark)

With match temperatures in the 70s and 80s, we are looking forward to perfect match weather.

TREATS WILL BE SERVED!! NO TRICKS!

Lanes will be open after the match for practice/revenge on the targets that kicked your buttons.

Range opens at 8:00, Practice range opens at 8:30, shooters' meeting at 9:15, Match starts at 9:30 sharp.

AAFTA rules do NOT apply, we will have a 30-120 shot match on 15 lanes with standing and kneeling lanes.

Entry fee is $10 - $0 for first time shooters.

Eye protection is required by the club - there WILL be lead shot landing on us from the sporting clays range - but we are not allowed to return fire. 😁

Bug spray is never a bad idea, but we will have extra if needed.

P.S. Mark Welker has Heart surgery coming up soon so send your prayers and good vibes!

Tulsa Gun Club is at 8888 Mohawk Blvd.

Exit at 56th street North and go East if coming Via Hwy 75.

Search Google maps for a pin on “Tulsa gun club eagle ops rally point” and that puts you at our meeting spot.

For the Tulsa crew,
