Where are you guys seeing a missing breech seal?

it’s clearly in the photo looking through the barrel at the rifling. Did I miss something?

i just looked back at the original and yes i mistook the seal as an slightly out of focus polish of the barrel end .

Benjamin  Akela owners ?

Just received a beautiful Akela .177 from airgun revisions. The barrel shroud is a little loose and even my smallest Allen wrenches won't fit. Would someone be able to tell me what size Allen key fits the grub screws on the barrel shroud?
They should be 1.5mm or 2mm I can't remember which exactly.

Just Fooling Around

Nice shooting!
My best offhand shots are made with irons (no magnification), but if I am offhanding with a scoped gun, I go as low as I can on magnification and still see the reticle clearly on the target. High magnification tends to make me overcompensate because my brain is telling me I need to move my POA more than I actually need to in order to stay on target.

Umarex M1 Carbine rear sight replacement

Pyramyd marked down the price of wood stocked M1 Carbines $120 and I couldn’t resist and ordered one a week ago.

I just got a chance to shoot it today and am pretty impressed overall, but there’s one thing about it that just niggles me and that’s the rear sight. It looks correct, but it doesn’t adjust for elevation. I can’t see how they could have gotten such an easy feature wrong. Crosman loves cutting costs anywhere they can, but on their M1 they managed to get it right.

I know there’s a ton of M1 carbine parts out there and I’m wondering if there’s a replacement that fits. On a gun like this I just like to have it as close to the real thing as possible.

HW/Weihrauch  Black Star

Last week I scored a HW45 Silver Star .177. Couldn’t say no. Today I drive to get yesterday’s mail and this poor baby got cold in the mail box all night. Our nights are slipping into the high 30’s, brrrr. View attachment 503705View attachment 503702Love these guns. This one gave me the third calibre. View attachment 503706These guns are a treat to shoot. Well made. Easy to jack and accurate. Crow
You have the best collection of HW's that I've seen.🔥 Much $$$$ hanging on Crows racks.

Two Trash Pandas Down, One Takes A Big Fall Down

Very cool footage! What kind of moderator do you have and how do you like it? I'm considering a .30 cal Impact, but would need to silence it really well :)
So the impact has a real nice barrel shroud on it. So I find with that, the Ronin and the “extension” quiets my M3 to the point my wife can’t hear it sleeping a few rooms down the hall in the bedroom. I have a gazillion silencers, a “Sarissa” custom made job from silent thunder ordinance. I’ve got the emporer v3, of course the Ronin, The stock one, the Yokozuna as well (which I don’t love). The ronin + extension is better than all of them. Hope this helps, it is considerably quieter than my .25 cal DRS. With air guns, you really need extra air volume to keep them quiet I find. A good moderator to hold back the gases is good too, but you need a place for those to go. The shroud in the impact with the extension from Donny should really do the job !

Really nice conditions, cool and kinda calm except for the switches. Pellet: Didn't seem to bother Joe too much but for the rest of us it was weird. Keith earned his 2nd 750 in Pro and bumped a few down in that class.

What started out as a frustrating morning -

with two clean misses, ended up with two hits. I need to learn to be more patient.

Thought the morning was going to be a complete bust, then decided to move to the other end of the WMA.

I sat down and just decided to chill, and after a little over half an hour, had one "appear" on the ground at maybe 12 or 10 yards. I finally was patient, and the young male eventually hopped up on a sapling giving me a shot, so I took it - so at least I'm not going home empty handed!

It was getting close to 11, so I collected my kill and began a slow stalk back to the truck. Seems to be a lot of blackbirds in this part of the woods, and even with them squakin' and making racket I was pretty sure I could here an occasional "mew" not the normal barking, but pretty sure the sound was coming from a squirrel, so I did my best to move as quietly as possible near the source and just listened - well the blackbirds just all took off at once, and I took this opportunity to do the quarter trick - after just a few rubs, the "mew" sound subsided and I caught movement to my left and there was bogie #2 checking me out - a clear shot from no more than 20 yards connected with a solid thump - #2 in the bag

Thanks for putting up with this long winded post for just two squirrels, I do appreciate it!

Beeman  Another rare find

I actually had a r10 in 20 cal it wasn't even close to 900 fps...the 20 cal pellets are longer than a 22 making them Slower out of the same guns.

Well, not too sure about that one either and have not ever heard that. It's a bit hard to find .22 & .20 pellets that are the same weight and that's what needs to be done to make such a comparison as well as bore fit. Too loose or too tight will make huge differences. I don't have a single gun that shoots across the board slower with .20 than they do with .22's. In fact, exactly opposite regardless of length of pellet it's weight that has the much greater effect.

P.S. Just measured, .20- .244'' .22- .256 both are H&N FTT pellets, Kodiak .20= .312 .22= .339 which are longer?

Tank deal or no?

There are many bottle guns on the market with Chinese bottles on them. I haven’t had a problem with mine. If you’re going to fill it yourself, I don’t see a problem with the Tuxing bottle. I’m sure many on here would disagree though. It’s just whatever you feel comfortable with.
there's just something about cheap and 4500 psi that don't mix well to me.

Other  Walther LG90 - some rescue needed?

Went for the Bull, 2 shots 53 meter. Very pleased with this rifle, and it is looking brand new now. Switched the Hawke prism with a 4x Sun Optics. Better for short distances.
Conclusion: A good buy, even if the wood wasn’t the best 😊

Short but memorable rat shooting night

Rats population has definitely decreased at this farm as I only saw and tagged six this evening.

However, I had my most memorable shot at a rat where it was moving across the concrete blocks from its hiding spot to the feeder. I had to time my shot as it climbed across like a spider-rat. My other shot was at a rock 93.5 yards away. Ya, my HW100T was perfect.

Enjoy.
