Correct not unless you're gonna shoot something like 13.43gr, they will give you a bit of extra velocity.

Donny's one of the best people I've "met" through any of my online hobbies. Got to know him before he started making/selling his LDC's as just another airgun enthusiast and he was just as nice then as he still now that he's launched several successful businesses. Only non-stock part is DFL 1/2x20 moderator adapter and Huma moderator.

I removed the spring inside the shroud so that the barrel free floats inside.

I’ve polished all internals of this Akela and its super smooth. Trigger polished up - breaks at 5 ounces consistently with a nice two stages. I stripped the factory finish and Tru-Oiled the stock.

Its a super nice rifle to shoot after the work I put into smoothing it out and optimizing hammer spring.

Its also been very reliable. Have not had to replace a single o-ring in the 2+ years I’ve owned it.

Finally, its super consistent. As unregulated rifles only have one pressure to “manage”, it’s 1st shot is always on target - no plenum pressure drop to worry about.

The issues with Chinesium products? The materials themselves are highly suspect. Is that brass...or leaded brass? If Chinese leaded brass as it is easily machined and cheap.
A friend years ago had replacement jet ski impellers made in China, his first article samples were awesome, superior or equivalent to the OEM part and cheap. His container of impellers were not the same material and failed rapidly. Bankrupted him, oh that container? Could not even be sold for scrap stainless steel. The scrap yards (several) stated we don't know what it is, but it is not Stainless Steel. Buyer beware! Again the first article samples were excellent.

Has anyone actually used this bottle adapter? Looking into a Zelos for my first PCP and would be interested in a bottle conversion. Seems like a cost effective way to get that done.

Nothing a 50mm replacement shroud can't fix! I just received the 50 mm tube today I haven't fitted it with the parts on the breach end cut it to length yet but will do in the next few days. Work in progress.

My go to rifle feeling ill. Air is escaping slowly through the 1st hole next to guage on my FX timberwolf. The hole looks to be threaded.

Any advice on how to fix?

You are on the right track buying top quality, particularly if you have the means, and more importantly the land to shoot on. At your starting price point you have great options. I like the .22 for what I do with my pellet rifles. The FX M4 is a multi caliber capable PCP, so you’re cover if you decide to change calibers. At your starting price point, you have nice options. Don’t overlook the BRK Ghost… Looking forward to reading more about your future PCP journey…

Yeah, at higher pressure there’s just enough energy left after the shot to operate the mechanics. I wonder why Huma doesn’t include an optional plenum tube as they do for so many other reg conversions. I get that most people don’t want it longer but this is stuck in no man’s land. Well I guess it’s stuck in UK territory. Not casting any aspersions on you, Mike. I appreciate you trying it out and letting us know what it can and can’t do.

No no need for bleach or acid on this one , French walnut . Just a good prep , alkanet oil and stock oil with a tad of drier added . Slow process

Wowza - pistol Hft event was a 60 shot course! 3 targets per lane and two shots per target. Again, shooting under the old growth cedar was really neat. Thanks to all for your hard work.

Truth be told the Crosman target pistols and rifles are to Me the best deal going,.You can spend a lot more for something that is not as accurate ;plus you can hand pump them,and many shots to the fill and change the bolt to either side...Well they are target guns;the above one is so,'Cool" man,Far out!

If I buy airguns off ebay, I check and see what the seller usually sells. If it’s a hodge-podgery of unrelated items, I pass. However, if the seller usually sells airguns or puts a unique, non-generic description, I may buy it then.

Otherwise, I stick to the forums, Gunbroker and of course the airgun shows.
