Beeman  Beeman R1 .177 build

Use a scotch bright and stripper with rubber gloves.
Use a tooth brush from your wife to clean the Checkering. Return it when done. 😆

lacquer thinner with scotch bright whole stock. re use wife’s toothbrush with thinner in Checkering ..of course ,return it 😉

You will never get the beech pure white. It don’t matter when re dying. That ebony needed a iron oxide water pop ( vinegar, steel wool, peroxide, set in a jar to age two weeks before using ) that changed the color of wood to a dark charcoal to keep the black dye uniform And deep black..

A spray on Finnish is used to get factory look. Checkering is taped and coated only on last coat.
What was the spray on finish and how did you apply it? From an aerosol can? From a detail/dash/small pneumatic paint gun? Thinned probably?

FX  Fx panthera mag issues

So I bought the orioniguana mags they fit great.
i finally rec’d the so called FX MINI MAGS part# 22029 and they are not good. On the description it says it fits Panthera but it does not as it has the thinner lid.

Does anybody know who makes the mini magazine thicker lids for the Panthera. There are some thicker lids for the larger magazine but I cannot find for the mini mag. Apparently the reason why the website store said it compatible is because FX has made the thinner ones for the mini mags and was supposed to be included with the magazine.

Tuning  Setting External Regulator

Ya definetly got the bleeding air part.. But How do you keep pressure. I was thinking I need to plug the output 99% so only a touch of air escapes so then I can get a reading of the output pressure gauge.

Yes I agree the gauges suck, but if I get it 95% there I can do a bit of fine adjustment when hooked into rifle.

Mike
I forgot that with the torch I can adjust flow on it.. surprising even with the big regulator when you operate it the pressure is slightly lower.. well that's off topic..
anyway yes you would need a valve on the end so you can turn it on and see what the gauge says.. although you likely have a bleed screw when you finish filling your gun..if that's the case all you need is a deadhead plug.. one came with my compressor, you just plug the line.. it's a quick disconnect.. and turn on the compressor to see if the auto shutdown for pressure is good.. so you could just put one of those plugs in your fill line..test and set regulator pressure, shut off the air and then bleed it.. should be fine..
if you don't have a plug, well I suppose you could set it low and then hook up to your gun and slowly turn up the pressure until it's where you need it to be..
yes my Omega trail charger came with a deadhead plug.. you didn't say if you have a compressor, if you do, maybe it came with one..or you should be able to easily order one.

Beeman  .177 Beeman Chief

Personally I would not spend the money to regulate it.

I have a Beeman Raider .177 which may be similar enough internally.
I have added 2 o'rings between the valve face and the hammer, this is called the BStaley mod.
I am now getting a much flatter shot string over a large PSI range.
It was a lot of trial and error until I got the setup to work.
I took it inside and wore ear pro. It's not breaking the sound barrier and from 2000-1250~ with baracuda match 10.65s I'm getting 878 at the high end down to 830 so I can work with this. Originally bought it because I had so much fun with the notos I figured another cheap gun turned into a respectable shooter would be great. Bit off more than I can chew. But for backyard chipmunking, mousing and squirreling...maybe the occasional sparrow, dove or young corvid.within 35 yards this will do just fine. Thanks for the input on the lane reg.

Theoben  Testing a seal adaptor for SLR 88 and the likes.

Just thinking..........
If you use a starter tap and don't run it through, the thread will be tapered and could expand the plug in the piston where it binds the screw and keeps the plug held tight in the piston. We don't want that screw working loose!
Delrin is slippery. Makes good bushings, you know
Pretty close.

Tapered fuller bit drill and as, you stated, tap only 3/4 of the way ,, as the bolt passes through it creates its last .062 of self taping expanding the wings

😉

Came for squirrels, stayed for starlings

Excellent shooting on those yellow beaks!! Nice pic 👍. They are so skittish so to get more than one is awesome!
I was very surprised myself! First one dropped and the second flew off but came back and landed above the dead one. It was looking down at it and I took the opportunity. I lucked out that the third one landed just after the pics were taken. I took an offhand shot and hit it in the ass lol.

Umarex  Notos regulator adjustment?

the regulator almost always stays in the air tube when i took my tube off the gun. you can get it out by using something like a pvc pipe with a smaller outer diameter than the air tube to push it out from inside the air tube without damaging threads or o-rings.

Umarex Notos - First Kill

Shout out to battlehawkarmory.com. The Notos is currently going for less than $200. I was hesitant because of the low price ("You get what you pay for."), but I "pulled the trigger." Since the gun was so much cheaper than most other sites, I was able to add in a Maple Customs 15-shot magazine. Just a word of warning, the 15-shot magazine sits pretty high. I had to add a riser for my Bushnell red dot. Finally zeroed in my scope and got my first kill! One less rodent that digs through my garden. If you do pick up the Notos from battlehawk, expect at least 2 weeks for the shipment. The gun and packaging looked and feels brand new. I'm loving it.

I thought the same thing originally. Doesn't it feel good to be soooo damn wrong? There are so many things you can do from here to get that thing slinging at respectable power, but, most definitely not necessary. Stock is absolutely sufficient to do what you're doing.. the damn thing is an incredible value any which way... Enjoy
