What was the spray on finish and how did you apply it? From an aerosol can? From a detail/dash/small pneumatic paint gun? Thinned probably?Use a scotch bright and stripper with rubber gloves.
Use a tooth brush from your wife to clean the Checkering. Return it when done.
lacquer thinner with scotch bright whole stock. re use wife’s toothbrush with thinner in Checkering ..of course ,return it
You will never get the beech pure white. It don’t matter when re dying. That ebony needed a iron oxide water pop ( vinegar, steel wool, peroxide, set in a jar to age two weeks before using ) that changed the color of wood to a dark charcoal to keep the black dye uniform And deep black..
A spray on Finnish is used to get factory look. Checkering is taped and coated only on last coat.
