Vevor Compressor Failure - Any idea

As far as the Chinesium compressors. I've been very lucky one lasted 8 months until I had to replace the piston seals. I noticed it slowed badly. Bumped up the inverter voltage . Worked again. Until it didn't.was the brushes in the motor. Bought the most god awful cheapo mid August. Took its motor, changed all gaskets and orings... Been running better than originally since August. I learned if you take the casing off it runs 15⁰c cooler. Used to get up to 44⁰c filling 500cc tanks from 135-250. Without the housing I rarely break 30⁰c. Water filters on both ends. Fills from 150-250 in a 500 in a out 6-7 minutes

Edit. For the most part they most appear to be the exact same components with the fan, motor, pressure gauge, bleed screw, and outlet air locations differed between them. I bought the "spritech", the larger one with 2 intake cooling fans and one large outlet fan. Most use the exact same piston. Of which there seem to be 2 different designs

Skout  Epoch owners that sold for an evo or ones that own both ??

If you sold an epoch for an evo was it really worth it ? If you own both is there honestly any point. I have an epoch and really am trying to talk myself out of an evo. The barrel thing doesn’t make sense to me as I’m pretty sure I can buy the newer style evo barrels for my epoch ?? I can put the higher power regulator spring in my epoch and I can put the evo bottle valve in it if I want. The evo is aesthetically more pleasing to me for sure but I’ve done some investigating and it ain’t much lighter. Doesn’t appear they shaved anywhere near the weight claimed in a few videos. Anything in my thinking flawed?? If you switched or own both is it really justifiable other than just wanting another one. lol.
Hi Trucker3573
I had thought about the Evo, but then decided to do everything you listed and have zero regrets🙂

I do like the angled gauges of the Evo, but i prefer the easier access to the regulators on the Epoch

the slimmer profile is quite attaractive, but not enough to make me want to change.

Just messin around

I have this butt hook that has always been a little small. It looked kinda added on to my HFT-500. So I have a larger one coming that has more adjustments and a wider face. It fits the contour of the stock .
So I mounted this little one on my 853. I think the size looks right. It’s not a giant thing hanging off the back. It feels nice and adds a little needed reach. I can see why it would be illegal in competition. I can literally hang the rifle between my shoulder and the shooting sticks and hold it on target. It definitely feels like cheating.

FX  Typical air difference after a fill

Accurate was a poor choice of words. They agree so there are inaccurate to the same degree.

What I was looking for was in the nature of what bcchannell posted about temperature/pressure loss over time.

My pressure difference from immediately after a fill to about 3 hours later is about 20 bar.
Yeah, there's always a loss of pressure. The amount depends on temperature and pressure differentials.

It is what it is, I just try to top of the tank regularly rather that shooting it to the bottom of the fill.

A number of my PCPs have low volume, low pressure capability so I'm used to filling every 30 shots or so. The shot-count on my higher pressure bottle guns spoilers me.

Cheers!

Huben  Huben gk1 .254 slugs

Just stopping in to say that i just got my new barrel to replace the one some of you may have seen my thread about.

Anyway, before installing it, I polished it. After finishing, when I went to align the barrel and magazine using one of my .254 slugs, it quickly became clear that 254 is too big for this magazine and barrel. If i tried to fire them, lead would certainly shear off of the slugs at a prodigious rate. Now I need to do some testing to figure out what diameter I need, which unfortunately means I will need to buy a reducer die from corbin which also means making slugs for the gk1 will take longer, having to size them after making them. unless of course I spend even more to just get a whole new die. Might do that just so I can make them faster, not sure yet. Was really hoping the new barrel would like 254s just like my k1 and previous gk1 barrel

All this is to say that if you see someone say 254 is the best diameter for their gk1 (which was true for my last barrel) may not be true for your barrel and magazine, they clearly changed between the time mine was made and the barrel i have now. At least, I hope they changed and it isn't just terrible tolerances in their manufacture.

Looking at the rifling, the new barrel had more rounded shaped lands, the old ones were more noticeably angled. Like ( vs [ if that makes sense, although they are both 12 lands barrels. This quite noticeable difference leads to to think that they did change how theyre made at some point rather than it being poor QC but I could be wrong

Pellet energy at point of impact

Just some guidelines https://www.airgundepot.com/vault/articles/basic-airgun-hunting-guidelines/

My Vulcan 3 I have tuned to shoot 60gn slugs @ 954 fps / 121 fpe ....at 100 yards it's still moving at 837 fps / 92 fpe. I set that so I can take coyote out to 150yds and still have plenty to spare. I take max range I am willing to take a shot at and make sure the minimum fpe is met for whatever game it is I'm shooting.

Skout  Skout Epoch..New set up .

Hey guys , So I Installed a 700cc tank and a new 35" bull barrel , big difference from my old set up especially the barrel the old 25" barrel was not pellet picky everything I put through It at 60 yards was 1/2 group , the new 35" barrel didn't like AEA , JTS , FX 18g pellets threw a few flyers so I got the crony out and saw It was pushing 1054 fps from 940 with the 25" barrel turned the reg down to 100 bar now the pellets are traveling at around 950 fps with the same pellets I was still getting a few flyers which never happened before , now the new 35" bull barrel Has a fixed liner I think Its glued In place and Its made for pellets not slugs I'm thinking maybe It might get better with wear ( I hope ) so then I pulled out a tin of JSB 18g pellets and pushed It out to 100 yards and got a decent 10 shot group no flyers ( see pic ) . I think the barrel will settle In and give me 1/2" groups like my old set up did . over all I'm happy with the set up . Maybe the groups will tighten up with heavier pellets that's something Ill be trying out tomorrow .

Have a safe and happy Christmas guys .

SX19 availabilty?

If you are looking for parts or support, Palm Beach and Donny FL might be about it - you could reach out and ask them.

If you are looking to buy one, most of us would steer you to the Western Airguns offerings instead, and the LCS stuff looks to be about done in the market place, with minimal support going forward (maybe even none). It looks like the similar Western offerings will be around for a good while longer.
