FX  C1 to long

I toke apart my MK2 so many times for any kind of mods and upgrades I can do it now with closed eyes... basically that is not an MK2 anymore but somewhere M3.5 ?
My take on it.... I know that the 6.0-6.5 mm is a ballpark (only) instruction for new mechanics, the stack up tolerance is the important and must be in front of eyes.
I know that if your C1 is sticking out longer (9mm instead of 6.5mm) the Valve Adjaster knob shall be backed out longer for about same amount (Valve Spring longer for a same amount again) ... So the Valve tuning won't happen let say between 2nd and 3rd line but about 6th line.
All these assuming the Valve poppet sitting properly (cross check the Rear Power Block). But then the Valve Adjuster knob will hit the air tank... so this operation needs some improvising.
This what I would do on my gun without any extra excitements and loosing time chasing tales, but again I cannot advise you if this is your first luve with the FX Plenum and Valve.... ;)

Nice Friday hunt

In preparation of next weekends hunt. I let my son who will be using the uragan get some trigger time. And I’ll be using my R5. Targets we about 1/2 in with one being 1 in. There was gusty cross wind. Range 26yds.
Red was with the hw30. And blue was adjusting the scope on the R5 the rest were actual shots. Not great but not bad for sitting cross legged with elbows. My kid did better with the .30 than I did.
The R5 is the super long and holycrap that thing is quiet. Shooting poly mags at 800ish and it’s crazy. The ping in the ear sucks but 5ft away it’s barely noticeable and the muzzle blast is very minimal.

Crown kinda morning 10/18/24

Nice hunt, shooting and pic! The one on the far left looks like it has bot fly larva, or had some tough fights!
It looks like rub marks up close, think its from going in a tight hole in a tree, there's wear around the base of its tail also which is usually a good indication of a den squirrel instead of one that lives in a leaf nest.

N/A  Springers and how far above Sea level you are….

I’m wondering if the two squirrels I shot in the head at 3500 feet would be any more dead if I shot them at 1100 feet elevation.

Unfortunately no. They would not be more dead.

But... if you missed them 1/2" high at 1100 feet because your dope was developed at 3500 they would certainly be less dead.

Generally speaking the squirrels you hit will tend to be more dead than the ones you miss. You'll hit a lot more if you know your trajectory and how altitude affects it.

The "dead" part stays the same at any altitude. It's the "hit" part that's different.

Yes look (I think) under the toolbox tab.
You should get a popup like so:

In the white box you can fill in the ranges you want displayed on the tape. Mind you manually need to add a space between the numbers you fill in there
Ok didnt know there was a PC version of Chairgun. That might be useful in other ways also. Maybe getting cured from my Excel addiction

Simple Air Tank Rack made of wood

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a new 1.6L Air Tank with a Dual Gauge. The gauge that shows the “gun fill” is located 180 degrees from the outlet hose. As you can see from the photo the outlet hose points down so I needed to have the Bottle raised enough so that the hose would clear. I built this “Air Tank Rack” out of some hard wood that I had. I used some wide stretch material to securely hold the Tank in place but would also allow the Tank to be removed if needed. Now I can refill a gun and keep an eye on the Fill Gauge very easy and I don't have to worry about the Tank moving around.

Finally, a High Quality compact scope

Has anyone used the EOTECH Vudu 5-25x50 mm (29.5 oz)?
or the NF nx8 2.5-20x50?

Would you recommend it?

Also, I'm looking for a versatile, compact scope suitable for both hunting and PR shooting. Any suggestions?

I'm sure it's top quality and EOTech has a flawless reputation, but they are too rich for my blood.

Is it me or does this also make you cringe a bit?

The guy wasn't eliminating pests. He was shooting a video. He was killing for sport.

That's fine. But he just didn't do a good job of it. Repeatedly.

Killing is groovy. But you must learn to do it a lot better than that before posting it to YouTube.

He pulled the trigger when things weren't right. He posted a video when things weren't right. The entire venture was mediocre. So I give it a "C-". He would have gotten an "F" if he had failed to bring him down.

All animals are not treated with the same respect. True. But all life is sacred. Killing is a responsibility even if your killing a rat. You get it done right or you don't do it.

Animals are not target practice nor ballistic tests. And most guys hunting pests are not doing any service to anyone. They are just sport killing. There is nothing wrong with that as long as you don't try to justify it by diminishing the animal you are hunting. Or pretending you are doing nature a service. That's just crap. Your just killing for sport.

We are all killers. Just like the coyote. We pretend that we are "saving the sheep" but we're not. We are just killing coyotes. For the same reason a coyote kills a sheep. Because it appeals to us.

The guy in the video was just an inexperienced kid that is learning how to kill an animal. He may think he was showing his skills but he showed his lack of them. He got the job done though and that is to his credit.

We were all there at one point. Im happy there isn't videos of my hunting failures for a bunch of old killers to critique on the internet forums. I would hope that if there were I'd have enough sense not to post them on Youtube.

Sometimes they just get a pass.

As fall approaches ,I find myself less aggressive on taking the big Fox squirrels. They are scowering for food to prep for torpor. I find it provides me with a robust fresh group that make it through the Winter for spring breeding .. I refuse to not shoot the Reds/ Pine squirrels as they are active year round and are very damaging to my location..

This one walked out on that lone branch and we locked eyes.. I gave him a nod,and on he went.

I have one lone squirrel runs through my yard every day, I just watch him eating the pinecones and acorns.

FSA (Fairfield Sportsmans Association) is having a fun field target day. A full course will be setup BUT...shoot any gun you want within the 20FPE limit. Diabolo pellets only.
This is just an open practice day basically. Shoot it however you want as many times as you want. Missed the target? Shoot it again and again until you get it to see where your info is off so you can make adjustments and get your setup dialed in. Always wanted to try a different gun, well now is that time! Want to try your FT pistol, go for it! Shoot several different guns if you want. Shoot it all standing, then kneeling, then normal, whatever you want.
FSA is hosting several of these events during the off season to keep everyone fresh and give them the chance to test out new equipment or changes.

The best place to get updates on the events is thru the airgun facebook page, Airguns at FSA Facebook Group
You do not need to be a member to attend these shoots.

Come on out, if ever curious about field target and get your feet wet in a very informal setting.
Bring food and drinks and any necessary gear.
If no gear or not sure, please DM me.
Thank You

EDgun  EDgun Matador slight leak.

I had leaks in the "check valve" in the fill port. I didn't have the right size o-ring, so I reversed it and it worked. The valve design is a slotted screw with o-ring. I had to play the the screw tension 3 times to get it right. Too tight the gun won't fill, too loose it leaks air.
I appreciate the info on this and now remember hearing that they sometimes leak at the fill port.
What a timely post. I also have an Edgun Matador that I discovered was empty after sitting unused in my safe for a while. Mine is the earlier R2.5. I had not used it much in the last several years. I’ll be watching this thread to hopefully piggyback on the advice that you receive. Thanks for the post.
Kenny
It may take me a few days, but I'll update here as soon as I have the chance to begin troubleshooting.

FX  Best .25 slug fx impact m4

may i know your tune setting for 40 grans,i tried some tune but not workink for me,i have m4 .25 sniper
My tune is irrelevant. There is a very good chance my tune wont work for you. Every barrel/liner, valve, springs used in the entire system that effect the firing sequence are different. So its very unlikely my tune will produce what you want. If you are going to try and get the most out of your rifle you have to put in the leg work and tune it.

Amazing performance filling a 9L Acecare tank with a GX CS4!

Wow, that's a long run. A dead empty 9 liter will take some serious time to fill. My 4.5 liter took an hour or two, I kinda lost track, I can go from 3000 to 4500 on the 4.5 liter in 10-12 minutes with EL Cheapo. So far so good, will change oil prior to the next tank pump up. Sure enjoy having a tank of air, I am on the hunt for a 9 liter. My 4.5 will be a good field/range size. Off to the evil bay...

Which Chrony for Benchrest?

As far as “down range” ballistic coefficient goes, I can always pull out the Garmin out of my front shirt pocket and set it just in front of the target and get everything you need to get what your looking for.
I personally have an original LabRad and have never used that feature even tho I shoot out to 1,000 yards with my muzzlerloader.
If you already have something you’re happy with just keep using what you have till the next best thing comes out!
Good advice! BC isn’t something I need often so using it in two locations is a great idea.

Results  Tulsa FT Oct 12 match report

Man, I can't imagine how you Okies deal with gale-force winds gusting to 1 MPH! Rough bunch'a characters, those Okies. Correction- rough bunch'a geezers.

I've always heard Earth reverses polarity north of the Red River. This match report provides further evidence.

No surprise the awards girl is in Jason mask...

And wearing a Republic Of TEXAS t-shirt. However she's obviously not Texan... since her t-shirt isn't soaking WET. 🤪 BTW, is she single? Five bucks for her phone number.

Anyone know where Dave commissioned the custom trophy, and at what cost? I'd like to commission something similar for the 2024 Republic Of Texas Extreme Field Target Championships Rifle Champion award... that assuming it's not beyond our (Bidenomics-adjusted) budget. I figure the Okie that is the reigning (2023) TEXtreme FT State Champion has a pretty fair chance of repeating. So given that possibility, I'd commission the 2024 Rifle Champion award to be carved from tomato.

But, of course, BRONZED!

Apparently the match reporter has been reading too much AirNGasman; as his report is not only very entertaining, but makes liberal use of bent humor and poetic license. He might want to consider other role models...

In all seriousness, GREAT MATCH REPORT CURTIS. And of what sounds like was one helluva fun time!

Sometimes I think you Okies are just like Texans🤠...

Only differnt! 🎃

2nd card qualifier at EBR experience

Thank you , hope everyone had the same experience at EBR I had. My experience was so good just thinking back about it puts a smile on my face.
I can’t emphasize how fun this event was. I love how all the different disciplines were designed with airguns in mind.
I’m an airgun purest, I love the challenge of the pellet.

Help with getting into Benhrest shooting

My thought is: Find a local match to you. The closer the match is to your home location, the more likely you will be there practicing and competing. Every match I have been to, there is a rangemaster, they can answer your questions and guide you. I shoot N50, there are clubs in several states. https://www.national50.net/
