I'm very very late to this discussion, but as someone who purchased and returned the AEA SF Sniper in .25 before then purchasing the Karma SLS in .25 I thought I should weigh in. Yes, the Karma SLS is a fairly heavily modified version of the AEA SF. The Major differences are:
- The AEA SF wouldn't cycle more than 2 or 3 shots in semi-auto, but my Karma SLS cycles perfectly
- The cocking mechanism on the AEA SF is a nightmare, involving finger contortions and a specific process. The Karma is an easy to use side lever.
- Putting the AEA in to semi-auto mode is a PITA, but putting the Karma into semi-auto mode is as easy as pulling out a button
- The Karma has a nice picitiny scope rail, but the AEA doesn't
- The Karma has a very nice full length Arca rail added to protect the underside of the air cylinder (this also makes the Karma about 1.2 lbs heavier)
- The Karma has the ability to adjust hammer spring tension, which the AEA didn't
- Both guns suffer from a nasty trigger, but the Karma does have an upgraded trigger shoe
I've put about 300 rounds through the Karma SF and would give it a B for sidelever accuracy and C- for semi-auto accuracy. I purchased this gun primarily because of the incredible reputation of Donny FL, snd I am convinced that with a bit more work I will be able to further improve accuracy smooth our that nasty trigger put. The price difference is about $500 between the AEA SF and the Karma SLS, and I would say that Thuan and company have added at least that much value to the gun. I'll let you know how the "trigger" refinement goes when I finally get around to it.
