Pneumatic fly swatter - calling out to subscriber!

MrP,

I don't know if it is possible to shoot "salt rings" from a trumpet style vortex generator, but below are images of a hardware design that may help answer the question.

Note that the barrel nut is separate from the trumpet. This is so that you can rotate the salt hopper to face up, as you tightening the barrel nut.

STLs are attached.

N/A  Bottle hawk armory scam?

It may be they are not a dealer for Umarex, just because they sell the product does not mean they are an authorized dealer. I've known of dealers over the years that sell more product out their back door than they sell out the front. Nothing illegal or even nefarious about that. Umarex is a huge manufacturer comparatively. Very common esp. for the big manufacturer's to do volume discounts to their authorized dealers, they buy at the 100 rate selling most of the guns to other dealers. Very common practice actually. That 100 rate price is far below what the small dealer pays wholesale for the gun.
Learn if your dealer is really a dealer.....

AEA  AEA SF .30 another "talk me out of"

Yupper, it is the "valve" we are always talking about, the gun retains the valve seat. The stem of the poppet valve gets hit by the hammer, unseats the poppet and air passes, the air slams it shut assisted by the return spring.

Most of the poppets I've seen are made from Nylon or Delrin, they are softer than peek, it's a very hard plastic.

Shown is an original AEA HP poppet and the peek replacement im working on.

Thank you sir. I appreciate the explination.

10-29-2024 AM short but sweet

Nice going.
I went yesterday morning killed one before the squirrels really started moving(34 deg)then missed another. When they really got active abut 10:30 I set my Crown Continuum down leaning against about a 6 in tree then it fell over and banged off another tree before hitting ground. I tried a shot at a leaf sticking up about 30 yds away and hit a tree 5 in to the left so that ended my morning before it really got started. Came home and re zeroed, barrels on these are mighty delicate ordered a barrel band going to give it and try and see how it works.

The airguns of the apocalypse...

I am glad you are faring okay following that freak disaster. Preparation is key, and I don't mean getting prepared when you can see the poop is gonna fly. You need to be prepared always, because things can go sideways before you know it. I speak from experience, having been through earthquakes in California, Katrina in New Orleans and Sandy in lower NY state.
I even had a tornado run through my town about 7 years ago, with direct impact on my yard. No power, no water, no gas. Thankfully, no damage to my house or vehicles, but it was a close shave.

I keep what I call a Living Larder in my yard. Lots of small game I can count on should an emergency run longer than my food supply. It's why I don't just shoot anything coming into my yard. I want most animals around in case I need to eat them. I've got loads of squirrels and rabbits that inhabit the woods behind my house and come into the yard. I believe I'll be able to extend our survival by taking them when I have the need.

Other  Pellet / New WH30s Question

Thumbs up on the patch worm.
I’m using cphp for my first tin in my HW35 with satisfying results. I notice things are smoothing out, maybe it’s me, or both.
A smile is worth a thousand words.
I don't mind a pellet picky gun as long as it picks cphp . 😉. I pretty much shoot them exclusively 99.3872% of the time . Lol..

FX  FX Slug Liner for M4 / 30cal 600mm barrel

I got my new M4 last week and ordered the slug STX Heavy liner with it, after more research it seems like I really don't need it for shooting slugs even with the different twist rate, I really only shoot 100 yards or so for varmints. Can I just use the one already in my M4 for slugs and pellets? I am thinking about returning the liner or sell it.

Thoughts?

I have the .22 M4 in 600mm, yours look identical to mine and I shoot both pellets and slugs as well, it has the perfect balance for me, i prefer to keep mine quiet with optimal shot count, i don't need a gazillion FPE so i haven't upgrade any power add on stuff to it, the stock superior liner is fine with slugs up to about ~27gr, and the stock 6g hammer will support the reg pressure up to around 130 bar at around 50~55ft-lb in .22 with zero upgrade or mod. Shoot it with the stock superior liner now with whatever slugs you got at 100 yard to see if you're happy with accuracy, if your accuracy at 100 yard is junk then you could try the slug liner.

FX  FX M4 800mm

it isnt rocket science, Take your time and enjoy the process:)
Seriously not rocket science, but Im kinda guy who wants to understand why, instead of learning by trying. (learning by trying is ok if you are 100% sure its not going to break anything).

So my understanding and logic tells me this.. Keep plenum pressure 150 (im tuning for heavy slugs)

1. You open front valve open so hammer can work with plenum 'freely' while adjusting it
2. You reach optimal velocity by increasing or decreasing the hammer wheel. You can fine adjust it by long flat thumb roller
3. You start closing front valve so you dont waste air after shot is made, when closing it and seeing drop in velocity, turn it bit open

There it is. Or atleast that how my brain works it out.

N/A  Ghost or uragan 2 in .177

I’ve done nothing airgun related. I will end up with the U2 600 mm once I order from Krale.
lately I’ve been thinking of ordering 2 guns from Krale, the U2 with carbon stock plus the P35X. Both in .177.

P35x went out of stock recently.

I did dive into 3d printing over Black Friday sales so it kinda took my attention away from the .177 urge.
Did you get it yet?

FX  DRS 25cal question

Hello,
I'm looking at getting the 25cal for EFT. I just like a traditional looking rifle. I'm curious if anyone has shot the 33.95s out of one and at what speeds and shot count. It will only be shooting pellets for eft and was looking at the 600mm length. I would probably add the bigger plenum if needed. I usually like to shot the jsb mk2 around 900-930 or so. Or just get a dynamic
Thanks
Jon

Other  Cold shot accuracy

My 0.177 caliber FX Impact M3 tuned to </= 12 FPE, stayed in the van last night with a low of 30°F.

The indoor range was 65°F, it took me 45 minutes to set up. Gun temperature at first shot was 52°F (average of 3 readings at different locations).

Bottle/1st Reg/2nd Reg Bar pressure was 195/160/90. Normal first shot is 200/120/70 respectively.

Checked my plenum pressure dope and increased the Mico 3 clicks as required.

First shot (no sighters) was a 100, on an ARA Pro Target, indoors at 20 yards.

The first 5 shots were all in the 100 ring. Before the 6th shot I reduced the Micro 3 clicks.

After 25 shots (no sighters) the BAR pressures were 200/120/70.

Bottle pressure increased due to temperature increasing.

Plenum pressure decreased due shot count.

It appears, once the plenum pressure dropped to 70 Bar the air volume/pressure between the regulators was all I was using.

I didn't think there was that much volume between the regulators.

The Air valve/Macro/Micro settings are 3/1/1.5 respectively. I haven't checked velocity in a while.

Thanks. I don’t have near the experience most you have. I’ve been brushing the springs lightly.
I don’t have that grease, next order l’ll get some.
I just put another TbT spring in an Ann. HW50. Same procedure, lightly brush on. Hope to shoot today. See what happens.
‘Again I appreciate your suggestion. Crow
