N/A  Please show me pictures of your bottle clamps with picatinny rail on the bottom for the bipod.

good to know...

and what do you think about me taking 2x 60mm metal clamps and welding a 20cm picc rail to them?

that way i could place the welded clamps at the front and in the middle of the rail (at 1cm and 10cm)- and slide it forward on the bottle which would extend the rail 10cm past the end of the bottle and that finally would place the bipod near the muzzle..

its going to cost me 47euros all together for the 2x clamps and the rail..

its not pretty but i will forget pretty at this point and concentrate on practical and functional..

the bottle placement should not be a problem right? i mean the bottle should not flex i hope?

it has a large thread point and its under 250bar so i would think it can hold the larger portion of the entire weight without flexing and touching barrel?

There is a lot going on with those rings and I’m not sure how thick they are. There usually isn’t a lot of room between the barrel and the bottle, which is why the Saber Tactical clamp is open at the top.

As far as pressure on the bottle and flex… you are going to get different opinions on here as it has been debated before. I have never had a problem using a bottle clamp, but some would say you shouldn’t. I normally try to find another way if I can.

RTI  Rti Mora 600mm 25 cal

I am settled with 45gr Zan slugs @1017fps
(shot count: 40?, i usually air up after 2 magazines as i believe to fall off-reg at last few rounds of the 3rd mag)
with an Alpex 4K lite LRF scope which weighs only 600grams versus the big brother of 1kg.

If you want some extreme high shot count …. Use JSB King Heavy MK2 pellet, is still deadly accurate for backyard plinking and pesting up to 100 yards… consumes way less air… for 150?+shots. I never tried.
Extreme high shot count - no, but well 2-3 magazines at least will be fine :)
My scope is lighter than Alpex 4K so around 5.5kg

N/A  2024 AIRGUN OF THE YEAR - WHO?

My vote goes to UMAREX with their $220 Notos and $450 Zelos.

2024 was a great airgun year, and very different for me.
Unlike years past, I made it through the year, without purchasing high dollar air gun!
Prior to 2024, I would always find myself wanting, lusting, pinching pennies, loosing sleep, and eventually purchasing a high dollar rifle, of some sort.
Seems like there was always some expensive make and model that I wanted....just fill in the blank ___________.
But 2024 was so much different for me, and I went all year, with absolutely very little desire, for an expensive $1500 or $2000 air rifle!

Eventually, I did purchase a inexpensive Notos, and fell in love.
I liked it so much, that I purchased another inexpensive Zelos.
$670 total for 2 different airguns, and zero regrets!
This absolutely curbed my desire for anything expensive!
2024 was a great airgun year!
If this trend continues, I may never purchase another $1500/$2000 airgun again!

Thank you Umarex!
Looking forward to 2025!
You should try a stoeger

Larger capacity bottle for RAW HM1000x

Did your bottle have the valve already? I am new to PCPs and am looking for a larger bottle for my Maverick.
The bottle i purchased did not have a valve included. I have seen bottles with the valves for sale at Arguns of Arizona, Utah Airguns, and Topgun-airguns
I just removed the valve from the previous bottle with a hex key

FX  Happy New Year and New Panthera coming soon

Depends on the humidity in the area you are filling the bottle, should get multiple fills before needing to replacing the media. If you refill the bottle before it gets too low you won't have to run your compressor as long. Nice gun!
Thanks.. ya I’ll just top it off after each use but I had to give it an initial fill.

Epic  Regulator issue.

I've had the same issue with the raptor reg giving an incredibly slow refresh rate. Huma weren't terribly helpful about it despite being bought directly from them.

I ended up enlarging the air transfer hole (the one that seals up against the disc with a little carbide pcb drill bit. Can't remember the exact diameter but it's about double what it started at, leaving a fair amount of that little rim that seals up against the disc intact.

It significantly improved the refresh time, although it's still in no way amazing. The consistency of the refresh is much better though. Takes around 12sec all the way through to just above reg pressure, with about 5 sec of that being the last 1 bar, which doesn't affect velocity much if you've got your hst just right.
Can you show me a picture or a video of what you did to the reg mine also has a very slow refresh rate and its very annoying.

Marksman’s 45 rifle seal repair and manuals

Here's a thread with some details from a fellow forum member. I've made similar tools with PVC pipe instead of metal.

Another request for o-ring size on huma regulator.

I have an Impact M3 with a huma regulator. I have a slow leak between the reg. and the gun body. Takes about 4 days to leak down from 250 bar to 230 bar. I can find no charts, diagrams or tables that give o-ring sizes. I suspect the manufacturer wants you to buy their rebuild kits instead of just the needed pieces. Anyway, I need the large o-ring that seals the gun body and the large flat surface of the nut. I measure 14 x 2 with a ruler but my old eyes aren't as sharp as they used to be.

Daisy  Winter project Daisy 1000

I actually think the price of Daisy BB guns is going to go stupid high and then go back down. So I buy them cheap and broken. If you polish the metal to a mirror finish then use a propane torch to carefully heat the metal you get a really good blue black finish. So a rusted 10 dollar yard sale gun can be made to be worth 100 dollars after a little fun work. You ain’t getting rich on BB guns. But they are fun to fix up.

Last Rat Shoot of 2024

Max , great"last shoot"! I didn't get out as it was windy as all get out tonight & we're watching football. I got out a couple nights ago & scored on 5. That took my total to 201 for '24. Have a good '25 & many more critters for this new year.
Thank you. Yes, lets hope we will have more fun shooting our air guns in the coming new year.

Taipan Veteran

Very few orings in the gun to cause problems watch a take down video and switch them out yourself. With the way shipping is and items lost or stolen, I wouldn't chance it. That or post up your location and see if someone is close by that can help. I got a buddy from Springfield MO to help a guy who had an old Huntsman that needed resealing. They were real close to each other and didn't even know it.

Bulk probe buy 7mm/Artemis Snowpeak/GK1

So the probe arrived today. Only 8 days from ordering to receipt, which is very good. It's as described, and it probably is fine, but it's different enough that I did a few calculations on it to see if I'm substantially increasing my risk by using it. The one I received had a 3.54mm air hole in it. The OEM probe has a 2.5mm hole. The OD of the narrowest section of the QD is 6.18mm, vs the OEM dimension of 6.47mm. The safety margin of the OEM is 46% greater than the AliExpress version, assuming they are made of the same material, which appears to be stainless steel. It's not magnetic, and is likely to be 304. Stainless has a relatively low yield strength, it's comparable to A36 hot rolled steel. I calculate a yield to stress ratio of about 3.7:1 which should be ok, if it's 304 and I did the numbers right. So that's slightly greater than the 3.5:1 recommended.

I'll keep it in reserve, but I can't whole heartedly recommend the probe just because the design is closer to the edge than I feel comfortable with. Think I will machine some out of 1144 steel, mimicking the OEM probes, as the safety margin is nearly 4x greater. (about 14:1 yield to stress ratio). It will keep me off the streets this freezing week.

Match Directors

As the year winds down and a new year is about to begin I would like to give a big " SHOUT OUT " to all of the Match Directors and their assistants who make our sport possible.
They voluntarily give up their time, effort and energy to allow us to enjoy our sport. From clearing the shooting lanes to repair and maintenance of the targets, figuring out the Troyer ratings and setting uo the courses, talking to vendors and sponsors, and dealing with us, the shooters ( must be like herding cats sometimes ) listening to the gripes and complaints of the few, and doing what they can to help promote the sport, I GIVE A BIG THANK YOU TO YOU ALL AND ASK ALL OF MY FELLOW SHOOTERS TO LET YOUR MATCH DIRECTOR KNOW HOW MUCH YOU APPRECIATE THEM NEXT TIME YOU SEE THEM BECAUSE WITHOUT THEM OUR SPORT WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE.
Happy new year to all.
