Lazy boy hunting

As is someone ( 3 of them ) just pranced past the shot shed at 75 M
And as i was dialed in for 55 M with the 10 grain KO MK3 slugs, well i very well know my holdovers, and so getting permission from my friend to take the shot ( these birds throw his 2 dogs into tantrums when they prance around outside his bedroom window )

So PEW, and it dropped like a stone, not even a feather twitching.

That shut up my M8 which before that had been pretty full of himself as last night with my NV500 scope on his snowpeak he dropped a mouse and a little later a rat.
But pound 4 pound i beat him good.

Also my M8 having enjoyed my NV scope for a few hours, he went and ordered a clip on as lets face it his 15 year old NV scope are only useful for 10 - 15 M ANd we bait for the mice and rats at 30 M.
And since he was tearing into his savings account he went and got a Snowpeak M30 today, which so far seem A LOT better than the cheapo 2 grade one he have that will not do 55 M shooting well.

I really enjoy shooting those small 10 gr JSB slugs, at 55 M they group real fine.

Also put 10 holes in a duct tape roll inned cardboard ring, placed on a fence post 120 M away, having 4-5 in holdover and holding 4 - 6 inches to the left due to wind.
And at least half of my shots was on the after all not that big cardboard cylinder on the post.

BTW the pheasant, is sacrificed to the huge eagle nesting close by, when it spot it tomorrow on top of the 20 foot container where it like to sit on the railing, well Dinner time.

Can someone explain digital and optical zoom?

My zulus just says 5-20 but not how much optical or digital. Now I'm seeing other night vision scopes that advertise they have X optical IE 6 or 8, and X digital zoom, Do these numbers combine or are they stand alone? In other words, are you only either on 6 or 8 optical zoom or does it combine with the digital for 6 or 8 times digital?
Very confused,
@brawler1588 Can you provide some clarification here?

FX  K&L Buffer Tube Adapter for FX Panthera (seeking information)

If you can find a source other than K&L that has it on hand probably a good option. Don’t order from them unless you have a cpl years to wait for it.
Hi Trucker3573, thank you for your reply, I will take it into account.

Can The Sidewinder Compete?

I have a 22 sidewinder and it is quite accurate, but I have to say that if I were picking a gun out of the ones I have on hand for competition it would likely be my fourth choice. My human comes ahead of it as the trigger is so much better Then I have a bottled LW barreled Marauder that is good for bench shooting and an Air Ranger that is simply outstanding. All are in 22 caliber, and all three perform better than the Sidewinder.

Thw Sidewinder is a fine gun, but I don’t see it being used for many competitions.
Yeah I hadn't seen it either. Just wasn't sure why as it was praised for accuracy, and comes in at a somewhat comparable price point as stock models go. I figured folks here would know. So far the answers make sense.

Fat barrel

Some one mentioned something like tiny harmonics.. maybe he has no shoot one of my barely 14mm barrel uragan that without tension you could not even see where the slug went .. a proper hunting air gun I understand the want for a light barrel.. but damm a 34" to 38" bullpub is a bench gun . In that case I really cant understand why people keep wining about weight , that is why companies have being pushing thinner barrels in order to comply with the idea a a light pcp.. 16mm should be the standard thickness.. 15mm the minimum depending on the leng .. big bores should be standard 18mm .. the thicker the barrel the less ammo piky it would be assuming that both barrels the thinner one and the thicker one are exactly the same , and perfectly machined.

Theoben  Theoben eliminator

Sounds like a shim might have gone missing somehow. I would be doing some measuring.
You should be able to see a slight gap on both sides of the breech block.
There is a procedure to removing/replacing the breech bolt on a Theoben.

What is a good budget friendly chronograph?

Checkout this orcair,
I have been using it for few last weeks and is very simple to maintain also.
the only problem with this one is ur pcp will be loud without a moderator using this chrony,
but I did Jerry rig a vacum adapter to use my 0db with this chrony and it’s super fun now to read every shot.
That kind don't fit many guns today . Especially the fixed moderator types

Pretty much anything outside a traditional non shrouded barrel you may be in n trouble.

Maybe they sell ( at extra cost per each) a adapter for them

Lol... Cheap china bolt on can work on each above

Crosman  Crosman 2240 Radical Trigger Mod

I've done the 2 stage and are great. The role triggers are good too. Just by polishing the trigger group and modding/ swapping the trigger spring makes a huge difference, at least from stock. The overage seems to be the worst part for me. A trigger shoe helps reduce that.

Nice info on some great mods.

Other  PP700 optics set up?

Anybody know of a long eye relief pistol scope (18 inch eye relief ) that would focus down to 50 feet (about 15 yards ) something like the Bug buster but with long eye relief . i have a bug buster but the cheek weld is Resting my cheek on the Hammer !
Thanks
Just had the same requirements and couldn't find a ready made solution!

I went with this, even though it's fixed parallax. https://bsaoptics.com/product/edge/

Using the correct tools for the job, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B2LRWXX...0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&pd_rd_plhdr=t&aref=FVo0OMltd0 I refocused the objective to 15 yards. That limits its usefulness at other ranges, but got me to a sharp 15 yard focus. Great image quality at 7x, especially for $70...20250420_115852.jpg

Hatsan  Doubts on the Hatsan Velox, Anyone have chrony the .177?

Take a look at these threads relating to the Velox. You will get plenty of opinions.

Well... there is a toon of fanboys and youtube videos praising the gun, and some people and videos saying its garbage, that breaks easily, lose air and overall it's bad quality and gimmicky.

400 bucks is a pretty high price to trow on something I'm not sure about, and I can't make many mods or improvements, so I think I will pass on this, probably in 2025 some company will release a better pistol sized, semi-auto cheap option now that clearly there is market for this.
